No, not really ever. I had to make sure of that or my fold is just brutal. Considering everything, even if he doesn't have KK there given what I assumed his ranges were I'm pretty happy with my play. If it were 100bb deep I still think I'd fold and probably sigh get in my 99 combo with no spade

normally i'd say the seat-switching stuff is bad, but the environment in NJ (camping, seat switching, scripting, bumhunting, chat etc) is so cancerous already and I see it happen probably daily. At this point, the incremental impact of any one person not doing it doesn't really do anything to change the status quo. It has basically become standard and although that is sad, it doesn't make it any less true.

Honestly it is extremely annoying from my POV as a very frequent table starter to > 90% of the time have the absolute worst seat at the table (as the rec player annoyingly sits to my left the vast majority of the time). Also, some regs who camp my 6max tables will sit to my direct right rather than sitting across the table. I really wish a site would do something to make seating more fair (make it random for instance, and make it so you can't leave and come back to a different seat).

But I mean, what can you really do? There are always going to be freeloaders who will rely on everyone else to sit the empty tables and just swoop in when a big spot arrives -- such is life. The good thing is that pretty much all of these guys are exceptionally horrible at poker and will be out of a job soon enough. <3

the answer to all this is making all games zoom only, you fix the issues of camping, seat selecting, bumhunting, literaly everything is fixed by zoom. but many regs seem not open to this for one reason or another. i tried supppper hard to start 1/2 zoom on stars for a while and like 80% of regs would never want to do it

also...frequent table starter? maybe between the hours of 3am and 6am

agree to disagree on all zoom... they could maybe trial it for heads up since that doesn't require more than a few people to have a decent pace. But they didn't seem interested in that when I brought it up. Zoom at higher stakes 6max on ROW was a huge disaster (and was eventually rolled back), so I don't see any specific reason why it might work better in an even smaller pool.

despite playing under 5% of my hands on heads up tables, I've played >30% of all hands this year heads up... so yeah, I'm starting a huge % of the games I end up playing. The majority of these are PLO but the same problems we're talking about exist there.

I very rarely play beyond ~4:30am and I never start after ~3am

yeah i know zoom didn't work ROW, it all comes down to starting games, most regs just refuse to start games with other regs, so zoom will never go. no fish is goign to sit in a zoom pool and wait for a game to start.

i'm not saying zoom is the ultimate solution, it just solves every issue that we've mentioned. maybe there need to be bigger incentives for game starters of the zoom pools, cause once pool is going, then the games are amazing

bbissick, you like zoom? let's start some 1/2 zoom on some slow nights. trick is for regs to put in 4 entries so when a fish sits tehy can get the real experience of zoom and be bounced around tables and get new hands instantly

Gonna post soon about the above topics. I personally love zoom and wish it would run. Think it could definitely run consistently at 50/200. Think it would be beneficial for both regs and fish, regs get more hands and fish get to see more hands, also could stop some major bumhunting (which ill touch in a second)

Going to take a quick walk to the convenience store for air then will do a writeup of some topics above and today overall, was a whirlwind that ended with some excitement

Bumhunting is a pretty rampant and definitely I think one of the bigger problems especially at 400+. I am slightly worried that when I start playing 400+ as my main game volume will suffer by how often those games break.

It's also extremely tilting when a reg will snap sit out as soon as a whale busts and then sit out until another rec comes.

Gonna be honest, haven't been around poker enough to have thoughts about seat switching, feels like a gray area between trying to expand your edge as much as possible. TBH this doesn't bother me as much as the bumhunters.

As much as I'm for zoom, I just don't think it's feasible to make it zoom only. I know Stars used their cardhunt promo (there promos have been bad) but maybe they could do a more effective zoom promo to get it out. The majority of 200 regs want to win there money off recs and be done with it, which seems to be there disdain for zoom

Yeah, more reg games pls. I think it's kinda silly how often games break at these higher stakes, think edges can still be pretty big between regs.

I wouldn't even mind if any of the NJ sites used an anonymous 'Seat me' option like Ignition.

Big Tourney Day

As most know, I rarely play tournaments besides a major here and there. Last year, I fired a pretty big SCOOP schedule and this year as well, so today was shaping pretty big (for me) with about $2,000 in buyins, I ended up with about $400 profit but it was really a tough, stressful night. Today just reminded me how brutal tournament variance is...it also reminded me how soft it is.

Major Failure

Fired all 3 majors, busted all 3 majors about 10 from the money in painful ways. AJ<AJ in WSOP 50k. 88<A5o for a healthy stack in Stars Special with 88k in prizemoney.

In fact, out of the 14 tournaments I played, 8 of them I busted within 15 of the money.

Funny enough, I ran +EVbb by a decent amount and ran massively below in Chip EV.

My First Tournament Punt

Was playing the SCOOP Turbo Low where I had about 40% of the chips with 6 left, I lost AK< AQ for about 55% of chips in play before I ran a massive bluff against a good tourney pro and ended up busting 6th.

Thanks for coming to check it out. Unfortunately, won't be archiving any streams unless its exclusively tournament, don't want to make it too easy for the other regs

Def gonna check out the stream, feel free to skip tourneys tonight and give the other SCOOP teams a chance to breathe

I was watching the $300 turbo hand with 7 left and from a friend perspective I cringed when I saw the 8 on the flop. From the perspective of you not having the chip lead and not picking up the points for your team, it was pretty nice

You and Buzgon are just crushing but team RSN ain't givin up without a fight!

Yeah I know what you mean, I've been keeping an eye on the lobby seeing how people do, and i'ts def a mix of if they do well I'm happy as a friend and if they do poorly it's I'm happy as a competitor

Stream #2

Had another decent turnout, although I still have a lot to clean up! I kept it a more manageable 6-8PM this time and it worked well as I didn't miss a lot of great games and still get in adequate volume the rest of the night.

SCOOP

Hitting a bit of a lull here, bricked pretty big the last two days, think I played OK. Lost KK<AK<88 for a pretty nice stack in the low highroller but outside of that not much going on.

The competition has really gotten close, with scores still needing to be added, so I really could use a strong finish here. I still haven't locked up profit for the series so one decent cash should get me there.

Cash Grind

Last few days have gone a bit better, played very well outside of my one session last night

Past two days:

Hands:

1.) All options feeled sucky Raise is super polarizing and it is against good reg but this spot i's just always 4's and I don't think I need to worry about being exploited so I probably couldve folded. I think my jam is pretty poor as well, villains raise sizing threw me off quite a bit.

Good thread. Will follow along and hopefully remember to catch a stream. Also nice volume - how many tables you playing at once?

Glad to have you along sir! It really depends honestyly, 8-9 is my sweet spot especially with 200NL. Will do 10-11 sometimes. Usually the higher the stakes the less tables. If I have a few 400-600 tables I'll probably hover around 6. And the extreme case when I play 1k I'll play one table

SCOOP Homestretch

Played 2 Progressive KO's. Got 2 KO's in the main one for a smaller $100 loss and then bricked the small one. Unfortunately my team is not in the lead anymore which means I need to string together some cashes to get the win and give a little help to Dan Buzgon (who has 18!!! cashes). I will play the PLO progressive and stud high/low high events now on my own dime to get those points and that $1k first prize.

I've done a really great job at chipping up through events and just taking tons of spots, especially against some of the weaker tournament regs who's ranges are extremely face up in a lot of situations, this has definitely led me to be able to take some hits late and still have some chips. Unfortunately, haven't been able to to avoid multiple hits in the late stages of the tournament.

Cash grind

Results are pretty good, volume is kind of poor. Finally, finally running pretty well at 400 and most of my run bad has been at 100 which is perfectly fine with me. Play ok yesterday but it didn't matter since I ran ridiculously hot and sucked out/won flips more than I care to mention.

I've also been playing more HU and 3 handed, particularly against some solid regs. My shorthanded game isn't the best and I think it's been pretty helpful with my game, thankfull i've run well in these situations and the lessons haven't been expensive.

Also, kind of a vent but it's kinda ridiculous when I'm playing 3 handed against two other regs and the other regs will sit out til a rec joins...

Anyway, some hands.

1.) Crying call.

I think you guys are still in the lead since the Sunday $300 $65K results do not seem to have been added to the competition page and sri and buzgon scored like 320 points between them in it lol

Oh true, didn't even notice that. Looks like it's gonna be a 4 team race! Looks like it's gonna come down to the main.

HEATTTTTTT

New best online day for cash, ran ridiculously good and played a solid B/B+ game most of the time. Felt great after being down 1k literally 10 hands into my session. I did play mostly 400/600, I also played a bunch of SCOOP events bricking everything but what can you do

Spoiler:
I suck at tourneys

That being said I have a ton of hands marked during my session, regs putting me in tough spots adjusting to some sizing differences etc. so will have a strong study schedule tomorrow.

YDAY:

Them swings.

Pretty huge tourney day again for me, will try to put in a little cash volume. Back home at my parents the next few days. Have started coaching some students which has been nice.

SCOOP has pretty much gone down to 2 final teams and I haven'd done much bricking both Hypers yday. Don't mind too much I've played really well this series overall, despite pretty much breaking even. Will try all satellites to the main, if not I'm on the fence on firing 2 bullets so we will see.

Could be in for a few thousand so let's pray for OP
