Heard you played a session with Rosa. I didnt make it over to Harrahs for anything other than the main but maybe I'll see you at Borg for the spring open. Until then, I guess we'll just battle a bit online.

^ Yep! Always good to put a face to someone I battle with online, definitely a cool dude to talk poker with.

AC trip officially done. A shade over 100 hours played for +7k all at 2/5, will probably do a write up tomorrow, I got sick my last day from playing 20 straight hours guzzling red bull

WSOP Circuit Harrahs

Results were over about 106 hours of cash and minus about -$500 in tournaments (22 straight live tourneys without a cash!)

I headed down to AC from Port Authority early Sunday and checked into my room, and to my surprise somehow got upgraded to a suite,so had a nice king sized bed to go along with a pretty big living room, was able to stay there til Friday for only $100.

Cash games were pretty much amazing, a lot of people went to Borgata but the Harrahs games were an absolute gold mine often playing like 5/10 and for stretches playing like 10/20. Some hands to illustrate.

1. 2/5 game. Whale opens to 30, and I'm the effective stack with $1800. I call with 66 from SB.

Flop ($65): 8 6 2

Ck, Ck

Turn ($65): Q

I check, he bets $100, I raise to $350, He calls

River ($765): Q

I jam for about $1,400 and am called relatively quickly by 3 queens.

2.) Against same villain. Whale opens to 30, gets 1 caller, me and whale about 4k deep. I misclick to 575 with QQ. Whale snap calls.

Flop. ($1,180): A K 4

Check, Check,

Turn ($1,180) 8

Whale looks back at his cards and I bet $350, he calls.

River ($1,880) Brick

Check, Check and MHIG

3.) And finally, my biggest pot lost ever but got a pretty sick rush playing it.
Lady has been opening everything to massive sizings and hasn't been folding. Shankar Pillai (v good pro) and I have been 3 betting isoing her a ton trying to get her stack.

She's already down about 4k over the hour and she keeps saying how she wants to go home. Straddle is $10 and I open to $30 UTG+1 with 99. I'm watching her and I see she hasn't looked at her cards (like she said she would). I get 4 callers and then she squeezes to $150. I 4bet to $350. She 5 bets $800. I rip for $2k. She calls.

I ask her if she just wants to flip the cards over, but she declines. I table my 99 regardless.

Pot ($3,970)

Flop: 6 6 2

Turn: 5

River: 8

And I wait.

She still hasn't looked at her cards. She finally starts to slowly peel them, baccarat style. About 30 seconds pass and nothing, and I'm starting to feel relieved I dodged a bullet. And then I hear "OMG....OMG... I don't believe it, I don't believe it, I got a flush!!!" And she slams down AKcc.

Was pretty sick tbh, but pretty interesting story for sure. The table on my side thinks I was slowrolled and 100% angleshot, but I asked the players next to her if she looked and they were adament she didn't look. Regardless, I figured against a random hand 99 would have approx 65% equity, so all in all I expect to lose a decent amount, just unfortunate I got in a flip situation.

Overall, was a very fun trip and I'm already pumped for the Borgata Open and Baltimore Circuit before Vegas this year. I met a ton of cool people while I was down here and it was nice to talk to players who have similar thoughts to me on a wide range of topics regarding the poker community.

Back to online tomorrow as I finally get over this cold

Same here. Had a guy who would put out a blind bet before cards were dealt then bet flop based on what he "felt" his cards were. He ran like hot fire though and managed to build a 500bb stack before finally crashing and burning. March Madness weekends are the nuts.

Yeah, variance gets jacked up but these players are usually so good for the game, the lady was complaining that there wasn't enough gambling going on so I got everyone to come aboard for a mandatory UTG straddle playing 2/5/10. Was an absolute blast.

All over my cold so first full session tonight and I'm excited it's a weekend. Both my girlfriend and roommate are on week long vacations, so I imagine I'll be putting in some serious volume. I ended up spreading my roll throughout WSOP/Stars/Borgata with all being rolled for $200. I never table select 200 NL so this might help a bit as far and I'll just limit the 400/600 games a bit atm.

Went back to the online grind last night. Forgot how bad I was running online compared to live

Booked a small win, had I played my A game probs would of been much bigger day. Also fired a 10k, got 7th after I lost A10<A2 for 1/4th of chips in play. That reg ended up winning.

Tough spot for me. I think this hand is a decent bluff catching candidate but I certainly have better hands I can use. I also didnt think you could have any two pair combos on that flop which was obviously not true.

FWIW, I think it's a good call, also pretty sure you didnt have the As which makes it much better. Without going too much into strat, given your range assumptions, most of my 8x that's raising for value will check river, so obviously was repping thin plus 6 combos of sets. Now I just gotta learn to not 5 bet bluff against you and I might get somewhere

Kind of slacked on goal setting this year, so gonna be a little more detailed for April.

April Goals

1.) Play 100k hands (Bonus: have a prop bet on this) I have 24 scheduled playing days.

2.) 25 hours of PIO work

3.) Watch 20 videos

4.)Set up first twitch stream for April 15th

5.) Meditate 20 times

6.) Go to the gym 20 times

March was a solid month overall netting me a little over 6k profit, although online has been a struggle lately. Didn't really play enough this month to warrant a graph. Been BE last 65k hands at 200, admittedly running bad, but just time to bite the bullet and try to move up, feel like I've been a 200 reg too long, also feel like I haven't gotten any better last month, starting to notice quite a few regs improving so definitely time to put on a solid study grind.

To April, being a breakthrough

Happy April Fools!

Off on the right foot volume wise and profit wise after today. Not much to be said, I got involved in a lot of coolers and was on the right side of most of them. Still running quite poorly in All in EV but pretty good as far as card distribution.

1.) Was not really thrilled putting this in. Not even sure this reg 3bets his big combo draws here. Was praying to see 22 or KQss. Couldn't find a massive hero fold.

I usually don't show hands but here it is since you asked so nicely . Admittedly I didn't play the hand all that well myself, It just didn't make sense you can have much on the turn once you check flop so I raised just trying to take it down, but once the river came I put you on middling pair with a straight draw and I figured a jam should be able to take it down once the board paired, funnily enough if it didn't I might've given up. Not in my wildest dreams did I put you on a boat. Though to critique you a bit I honestly dunno how you folded.. unless I have 99 you have me. J7 77 and 75 bet flop and JJ obv 3-bets pre. Maybe I'm wrong and I'd like to hear your thoughts cheers!

The critique is completely fine, it's an atrocious fold in all honesty but I take the blame for it. Just complete level on my end. As far as my analysis, this is just a board i'll check often so probs not as capped as you may believe. On turn, I actually thought you had 0 straights since I feel very confident you'll have stabbed all those combos on the flop. When you jam river, it's something that for the population is just really unbalanced and usually the nuts and something I hadn't seen before. FWIW, I thought the only value combo you had that made any sort of sense was 97, which I thought you had all combos of. I also thought you might be turning some pair+SD into a bluff. Anyway thanks for posting, some cool thought process and though it looks spewy I think it's an ok exploitative line against people who aren't balancing their checking range.

I agree with everything but that fact that I cant have a straight, thats exactly what I can have, I wouldn't stab the flop with it in the fear of getting check-raised same with middling pairs.. maybe even top pair. It just depends if villian has a big check-raise % so if i have a pair id like to check back and try to bring it to showdown if possible.

The 55 fold is really not that bad, but you should probably be cbetting. On the other hand, the A2 turn c/r is really bad and you have plenty of other hands that make much better bluffs. It's the kind of texture you'll want to have a lot of turn bluff stabs oop so a lot of your value range has to bet the turn oop as well which makes the delayed c/r so suspect here with anything.

Tbh, I'm actually shocked bb folded a fullhouse, not saying it's a bad fold, just not one I expect bb to ever make

Cutting tonight short as I'm feeling quite tired and made a few questionable plays to end my session

Had a few fun ones today

      1. Overbets seem to be the nuts at any stake 200 and below and then 400 up I feel like it's just all bluffs

      Nice thread, subbed!

What do you think about villains turn jam in H2? It looks really bad to me, but idk if calling is also bad? If there's enough implied odds otr he should be calling, but his hand could be drawing worse than it looks, if you have a set (so T/7 river is no good) or spades yourselves.

It's a bit of a tricky spot, but I agree I don't think that is a great combo to jam at all given he blocks some combos that I'd b/f. Given we're relatively deep calling is probably best but not a great spot for him as well. I think folding is kind of out of the question as well so I suppose jamming is better than folding.

      So I'd say calling>>>>>>jamming>folding

Another day Another Dollar. But in all serious kind of annoying day, where I had spurts of playing very good with some spurts of "I iz fish"

      April 6th

      MTD

Pretty happy with results. Down about $-1,600 at 500NL so results could be a bit better, also down about 5k at 500 which is a little annoying. Feel pretty confident i'm a winner in the tables I game select for.

Also finished 100k hands for the year at 200NL at 5.5EVbb. Next 100k we're gonna shoot for 8bb.

      Some hands:
