Welcome to my NL5 to NL50 challenge !

Hey there ! I'm George, a 37-year-old Romanian living and working in sunny Spain. Already 37 ... time sure does fly !

Over the years I played from NL2 to NL10. Almost every year I start playing poker but after some time/or a bad run I always lose my motivation and I abandon it and usualy use the time to play World of Warcraft with friends.... I think this is the path I follow always.

But even during long breaks from playing poker, I've remained a loyal visitor to the Poker forums, soaking up the stories shared by others in their blogs.

Seeing others succeed or stumble in their poker journeys has always motivated me. Whenever I come across a new blog or read about a player's passion and ambition on the forums, it sparks something within me and draws me back to the game. And that's why I'm here today.

It's been about a year and a half since I last played poker, but I'm ready to dive back in and take on a new challenge. I can't wait to give it another shot and see where this fresh start takes me.

The goals of the blog are as follows:

- Result Updates: I believe in keeping it real, so I'll be sharing my results and progress. Expect charts, scorecards, and all that jazz. It'll be fun to track how things go and see where I can improve.

- Sharing Hands from time to time: I'll be posting those tricky hands that make you scratch your head, looking for your input and thoughts.

- Poker Theory Notes: I'm going to write down some observations, thoughts, and conclusions about my poker journey.

- Motivation. Like I was motivated and inspired over the years on this forum by sharing my successes and failures (hopefully not too many of those!), I want to inspire you and myself to become better players.

This time I will skip NL2 because I never had issues with this one and I will start the journey from NL5.
The short term goal is to play 10k hands and see what is going on and analyze my game, the ultimate goal is to get to NL50. For that my bankroll has to reach 2500 €.

If i get to NL10 the highest limit I played even tho I will study myself I will look for somebody to do a database review for me and give me some pointers on how to improve.

This is all for now, thank you for stopping by !

Hey guys ! It's time for an awaited update on my poker progress. In my previous blog post, I mentioned that I would share my journey once I reached 10,000 hands played. Well, I have achieved that milestone and even gone on to play an additional 10,000 hands in the rush and cash format.

Results:
In rush and cash games, my performance has been kinda bad, with results close to breakeven. However, I've got better results at regular tables, where I've managed to secure some profit. After factoring in the rake, my win rate stands at approximately 5 EV bb/100. I expected to do better than this but it is what it is and I'm to blame for the results.

Study Efforts:
I must admit that my study efforts have been limited thus far. Apart from a few hours dedicated to analyzing out-of-position 3bet scenarios, I haven't focused on studying. However, I recognize the importance of continuous improvement and plan to allocate more time to learning moving forward.

Future Plans:
Throughout the month of June, I have committed to exclusively playing at regular tables. This way I'm sure I can increase the Bankroll. At the end of the month, I will evaluate my progress and make some decisions regarding the next steps in my poker journey.

Additionally, I aim to study another spot, 3bet pots in position by the end of the month.

Conclusion:
Reaching 10,000 hands and progressing to an additional 10,000 hands in rush and cash games has been a fun experience. While my performance in rush and cash games has been almost break-even I will not play anymore this month, I have managed to achieve a decent win rate of nearly 5bb/100 hands at regular tables after accounting for the rake. I am well aware that there is a lot of room for improvement.

I will try to update more often from now on.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Also... graphs

As you all know the GG poker graph are a lie because they don't take out the rake, but here are the real stats :

Profit : 75 $ ( Profit + Rakeback + GGCare + Daily )
