Yeah, Tallahassee is somewhat isolated from other poker rooms so I find myself grinding Gretna's Creek Entertainment out of convenience. If you crunch the hours you'll spend driving to find better games I think you'll find that your overall hourly will be higher here unless you end up staying and playing higher stakes for a couple/few days. Plus there has been a whale that plays here and the overall action in the room has picked up considerably since I first started playing here. I don't leave town anymore unless I plan on staying at least one night.
Give us a shout when you get to town. I can give you the low down on a few players to watch out for. This local card room is run almost like a home game with everyone knowing each other and the dealers tend to let the players get away with much more than they should. I would also familiarize myself with PLO and Lowball as these two games are lately the game of choice for the whale.
Headed out now to put in another 4-6 hours. Im tempted to not even leave town for Tampa this weekend if the whale is going to be playing all weekend like he has been the past few weeks. I am hungry for a big tourney score though and I have booked my room already with the Seminoles.
Action was slow today until we opened a 6 handed 1-3 nl game. I got stuck pretty quickly when my two barrels got looked up and I tried to play a 9Thh out of position in a 3 bet pot.. then this happened.
2 limps of a button straddle to me in the cutoff I open AKo to 26, button calls, 1 limper calls. Flop comes QT3r, limper leads 35, I call button folds. Turn J, limper leads 50, I raise to 150, he calls. River 7, limper leads 150, I jam 657 total, he tank calls and mucks QJ face up.
I am taking tomorrow off bc the mother in law to be is coming to town. I leave for Tampa Friday. I will try and update the thread when I get to tampa.
It took two bullets but im in day 2 with 289k. Average is around 150k. The tournament ended up getting 700ish total runners for an approx prize pool of 350k. I dont know the exact numbers bc there was one last flight last night that got 140 runners.
Ive been playing nonstop since I got here friday afternoon so after I bagged I met up with some friends in downtown tampa. We went to this place called flybar that was really cool. The food was great.

Got quite the story for you all today. I came to gretna to play my usual 1-2 nl and hear the story from the weekend. The confirmed whale was in the house and gave away a small fortune. The guys said at one point he went all in 18 times in a row for 1500$. They said he lost approx 40k this weekend. Hard to believe if i hadnt seen it first hand before but i have.
Headed to vegas next weekend for spring break trip with my gf. Would be worried about missing out on his action but i doubt much is gonna change here.
Action at Creek Entertainment has been super slow this week. Not one 1-3 nl game has opened while ive been here. Tonight they are hosting a 1 table plo sng with 1050$ entry to cater to the request of some of the bigger plo players in the room. I was hoping the plo crowd would get here before the tournemane and start a cash game but its not looking good. No sign of the confirmed whale this week. My guess is he is taking his talents back to the baccarat tables to try and get it back.
I leave for vegas Saturday. Expecting to play a couple short 5-10 nl sessions at aria while im in town.

Took a beat last night in plo. Ive got 3457 in sb. Preflop 15 5 ways, Flop K45 75$ 4 ways. Turn 5 i check raise a guy and he shoves for 1300ish i call. He has 459J. Were chopping till the River 9. He scoops. Stuck like a duck for 1837 on the day.
Leaving for vegas tomorrow morning. Have a limo pickup scheduled and dinner at Julian Serrano's lined up for my fiance, my brother, two friends and myself. About to be living the good life. No better time to run good
3-3 at 5-10 nl. 1-2 at 2-5 nl. 1-1 at 1-3nl. I'll def be back for at least one event of the wsop. The main event is looking like a serious possibility this year if I can keep up the volume. I get back to Tallahassee tonight and might head to Jax this weekend for the Card Player 1k and cash games. It's going to be hard to adjust back to the 1-2nl game in Gretna, but the ability to adjust is one of the most important qualities to possess in this game.

Family in town. Headed to Saint George Island for a couple days. This little hiatus from poker has been pretty nice. I needed a break before jumping from 5-10-20 nl games at Aria to 1-2 nl at Gretna anyways. Next poker trip is Biloxi. They've got a wptdeepstacks 1k at the IP and a 350$ 150k at the Beau. Gonna go ahead and predict a final table that weekend. Feeling that gooood about my play.
Haven't played a hand of poker in almost a week now. Excited to get back to it tomorrow. I called the beau and reserved a second room for the 150k tournament weekend. I've got a guy that's worth putting in the fiel that is coming with me.
Absolutely crushed it first day back. First I got it in really good with AQo on AQ8cc board against AK and 5c4c for a 1k pot. Board ran out running clubs so I lost. Anyways stayed focused and won some really big pots against the confirmed whale. We changed the game from 1-2 nl to 1-3 nl to 1-2 Plo in the 8 hours I was there. I liked it because after so many hours of holdem it's nice to switch it up. +2670 for the day.
Trip planned to Biloxi for this weekend. Gonna play the Beau 150k and the WPTDeepstacks event at IP. Day 2 is on sunday for both so hopefully I can find myself playing day 2 of a tournament. GL us.
