Did you need the $600 for the engagement ring?

No, I bought the diamond a couple weeks ago and had it set earlier in the day. (would've been funnier had I needed it)

January I ran so hot that it only makes sense that February would be less profitable. Today I found a pleasant looking plo/lowball game. I picked up a couple big hands early. One where I stood pat with 65321 and the whale draws three on the first deal to make 64321. Lowball is an awesome game when youre winning. When youre losing I feel like laws that govern probability and statistics dont exist. In actuality its a bigger game. There are going to be bigger swings. Either brush off the run bad or end up looking for a different job.

Misplaced a sizable amount of money. Trying to tell myself to chuck it up as the cost of doing business, but cant shake the guilt and remorse. At least I made someone's day and probably month. Im an idiot. I think im losing my mind.

I found the cash. I thought I was going crazy but i had just misplaced it.

I made up my calendar for the next couple months. North Florida is picking up it's game as far as tournament selection. First Tampa SHR, then Jacksonville Best Bet, then Biloxi.

Here is the link to the Tampa Series with highlights 100k, 150k, and 200k guarantees.
http://shrtpoker.com/wp-content/uplo...-2015-feb..pdf

Jacksonville highlights are a 50k, and a 100k.

There are two series going on in Biloxi. WPT deepstacks is there with a 1k 100k guarantee and Beau is running their Spring Break Classic. Here are the links to both of those.

Super stoked for all of these. Gonna try and play a couple from each series. Exciting stuff.

Sounds good man. Best of luck out there. The cash games are usually action packed.

This week should be fun. Gonna grind locally for a couple days then im taking my talents to Tampa. No time too soon as its supposed to drop down to the 20s here temperature wise. Gonna play mostly holdem and some plo.

Gl to everyone this week. Im gonna try and forget the first half of this month and play my best game despite feeling a little snake bit lately.

K ill note some hands. Idk if its just bc ive played this game so long but it seems that hands worth posting dont come up that often in the 1-2 nl 100 bb max buyin game. The 1-3 nl gets a little more interesting. Ill pick a few hands from the session tomorrow to post.

Opening the game today. I plan on playing for 5 hours. Had another excellent bowl of oatmeal with bananas and cranberrys today. I figure it cant hurt.

I have been thinking about all the driving I anticipate doing the next few weeks. Tampa Hardrock is 4.5 hrs door to door, the Beau Rivage is 4 hrs and Jacksonville Best Bet is 2.5 hours.... Each way!!! I had planned on going to Tampa 2-3 times, Jacksonville 1-2 times and the Beau 1-2 times... Depending on how im feeling, running, etc. That puts me in the range of 29-51 hours of driving the next few weeks... Omfg! Im glad I just crunched the numbers on here. Im definitely gonna look into flying to Tampa once at least. Then maybe greyhound it to Jax once. I guess thats just the price you pay if you want to play all of these tournaments.

Anyways, good luck to everyone today.

Had a decent day. I was stuck 150 at one point and up 750 at one point. The game switched to 1-3 nl when the confirmed whale showed up around 2pm. A few hands from yesterday that I wrote down were two hijack opens on button straddlers after limpers. I picked up KK the first time and KQ the second time. KK flopped T36r i cbet and get folds. KQ i flopped K23 and got 3 way all in action. A5>KQ>45s. The last hand was a hand I played with the whale. I limped out of the blinds on a button straddle with KJo. 4 to a 9T3r flop. I lead 15 and get 2 calls. Turn pairs the 9. I check, both players check. River 2 and I bet 25 and they both fold. Whale flops AK and says nice hand.

As I was leaving they mentioned that the 2-5-10 lowball/plo game was going on last night so I am in no hurry to go and play today. I expect the game to be pretty slow until later today. Tonight is the Xavier vs UC game, also known as the crosstown shootout. This is one of those rivalry's that get really heated. I've seen punches thrown.

If you want to see check the 3 minute mark. It has the best shot of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5BMseYWyZQ

Yoyo'd between up 300 and down 100 yesterday. I played pretty good. I got tilted at one point pretty hard when a local reg felt inclined to go all in on the river then start dancing, singing, and yelling, "clock, call the floor!" over and over and over.

Phenominal action today at Creek Entertainment. I showed up for the 1pm sattelite tournament and busted that pretty quickly JJ to QQ sb to bb. Then opened the second 1-3nl (no 1-2 nl running) and railed the 1-2-5 plo/lowball game that ran through the night. Ended up transferring to the plo/lowball to lose all my holdem profits for the day plus 1300 of my own money... Then i picked up A245Q in lowball and got action. 4 players on the first draw. I drop the Q only to pick up a K. I pot the second betting round bc everyone else was drawing 2 and 3. 3 players to the second draw and i drop the K and pick up a 3 to make the stone cold nuts for the first time ever in lowball. I go all in and get two mucks but still cool to make a wheel. I found some momentum after that hand and within an orbit i managed to get back all my losses and left a 400 winner. I wouldve stayed longer but i promised a date night with the fiancé. Bonefish and a movie for a little life balance (50 shades of grey sucked).

This week is gonna consist of Gretna grinding and Tampa trip starting Friday. Good luck this week followers!!

Thanks Rehab.

I enjoy posting regularly in here. It helps keep my play in perspective, my goals in check, and helps me plan what I intend to do next in poker.

Today went well. I arrived around 2pm at creek and played 5 hours to leave a 700 winner. The 1-3 nl opened around noon and the player composition was great. No confirmed whale today, but a couple miniwhales were in the game.

Hand of the day has to be when I saw a guy limp call pre, then he called all in with K9o on a A83ss board. Poker is not dead my friends. Far from dead.

Super stoked about going to tampa this weekend. I have my hotel booked and am looking to carry the momentum ive got with me into the 5-10 nl and the 565$ 250k.

Plan on opening the game tomorrow at the local card room. Loving the game and the endless possibilities that it provides.

Today was pretty awesome at the local card room. Idk if it was the cold rainy weather, the tuesday double full house promo or what. The place was bumping and players were giving great action. The place opened with 2 1-2 nl tables and a third table opened around 11am. Then a plo/lowball game opened around 1230. The action was great.

One of the first hands at the 1-3 nl table i decided to open Kc9h to 13 from mid position and got 5 callers. Flop came KT4hh. A guy donk leads into me for 50, i call, few folds, button calls. Turn comes a 4h, donk leader checks, i bet 100, button calls, donk leader shoves for 288, i call, button calls. River 2c. Donk leader shows Qh8d, button shows AhTd.

The streak continues.

Hey absherrj-- I'll be moving to Tallahassee later this year, could you tell me what the rake is at Gretna?

Good thread, been reading with interest about Florida poker rooms (although Florida is much bigger-- and Tallahassee farther away from everything else-- than I thought).
