Sweet. Keep putting in that work. Did "confirmed whale" mentioned advice contribute to the big day?

Re: Touring Florida Poker Rooms
Yes the local whale was in the game. I looked up his 1000$ blind shove with 99, AQ off, and AT off. He held A7, 93, and Q9 in that order. Luckily I held each time. Then I picked up a timely paire of AA and three smaller stacks (100-300 range) had KK and QQ and AK and I held.

Re: Touring Florida Poker Rooms
Thanks. I am going deep into the tank whether to drive to Jax for their 100k guarantee this weekend with 350$ buyin. Saturday is the last day to buyin with sunday being day two. Im sure they beat the guarantee too. Then there is another part of me that says, ''why would you ever travel to play cards, when the best game to play in is at your local card room?'' Still unsure to be honest which I'll choose. Then there is the 150k Little Slick in Tampa with Day 2 on sunday. That buyin is only 150$ for this one. I guess it's good to have options.

Re: Touring Florida Poker Rooms
Curious how you all react to this 6x pot flop shove.
6 handed 1-3nl uncapped 6 handed.
I button straddle, folds to older wealthy nitty cutoff who calls 6, hijack calls 6, hero looks down at AA and raises to 26, both call. Flop comes K78r, cutoff open jams for 490, hijack folds, hero...?

Re: Touring Florida Poker Rooms
I called. Villian showed KTcc.
Second table that opened today at Creek Entertainment was 1-2-5 PLO. Several players were in for 1k+. The action in this room has been great lately. The guys were saying that the PLO game this weekend ran from Friday till Sunday night without breaking. Several of the guys logged 24+hr sessions.

Re: Touring Florida Poker Rooms
Hey man. I used to play in Gretna weekly for about six months, made some friends there and such and had to leave Tally abruptly. Anyhow jw how some of the guys are doing and would love to see how you view some of the regs.
Austin, the dealer with the dreads...how is he?
Andrew, big guy with michigan st gear, a dog or t dog? Some dog nickname haha
Butch the dealer
Maximum pressure guy...some fish with an accent
Bj who wrote the poker book
Middle aged black guy who wore polo hat, pretty funny guy. Always grinding daily

Re: Touring Florida Poker Rooms
0% chance they get the bravo imo. They dont even have wifi there for players. You can call tho and they will tell you what games are running, if there are interest lists, or a wait, etc.
Watched the whale dump 5k today. I couldnt pick up anything to call even though he was shoving blind.
Had a big week last week and this week im up a staggering 50$. Just booked my room for Jacksonville Saturday night. Gonna fire my first 1k. Super excited. The final table is livestreamed which is cool. Ill try to record critical hands for the thread.

Re: Touring Florida Poker Rooms
Decided against going to play the satellite tournament tonight in Jacksonville. Instead I'm headed back to Gretna. I think they're running a plo game today which is always fun.

Re: Touring Florida Poker Rooms
1-3 nl uncapped game was interrupted by a new mxed game today at gretna. Half 1-2-5 plo and half pot limit A-5 lowball double draw. The action was amazing. Had a guy shove 700 on the initial deal then stand pat on Q high. Then had a guy shove 400 on the initial deal and them draw 3. I have no experience playing this game, but if I did this would have been the best game within 200 miles to be in.

Re: Touring Florida Poker Rooms
1-2 plo/A-5 lowball pot limit double draw with 5 bringin and 10 straddle has been running everyday. On weekends it opens friday and doesnt break till sunday. I was in Jax all weekend but i heard the game was playing really big. Average stacks around 5kish.
The 1-3 no limit uncapped game has suffered due to this game running daily but the action is so good that its hard to complain. Plus this has been the best month ive ever had to date playing poker.
Cheers

Re: Touring Florida Poker Rooms
While racking up my chips I found the QJcc and called a minraise by the whale along with everyone else at the table except the bb who reraised to 56, whale calls, I call, several others call. 6 to flop. Pot is 330. Flop comes QJ5r. Checks to whale who shoves 900, i call, and a shorty calls all in for much less.
"Can we run it twice?" -me
"No chance" -whale
Turn 6
River 6
Thats poker.

Re: Touring Florida Poker Rooms
I had my first losing week last week of 2015. I am hoping not to make a habit of it. I managed to wrestle 17$ from the 1-2 nl crowd over 5 hours. Talk about a strong hourly!
