Headed to gretna tonight to try and satty into their 10k event. Next month is a 20k so I will def be playing that one as well. Been playing here alot lately since its the nearest room to me. Monday I got stuck 760$ in a 1-2 nl 200 max buyin game but then reloaded for 200 more and ran it into 1700. Sometimes my stubbornness pays off. Wednesday lost 250$ after being up about 250$. Gotta focus more on player types in this room because most of the players are either there for promos, there to kill time, or there to degen money away. Easy room to beat, but the games can be hit or miss.

Headed for a short trip to Chicago. Gonna be playing Horseshoe Hammond for the first time. Def gonna sit in on the 5-10 nl. Might sit at the 10-20 nl game. Today could be the biggest game Ive played in to date. Gonna try and forget about the money and just play my game. Details to come when I get to the hotel room tonight.

Thanks man. The casino reminded me a lot of the layout of the Cincinnati Caesars. The poker room was nice with some great action. There were 2 5-10 nl holdem games running and one 5-10 plo both of which I played in. I managed to walk out a winner in the plo game and a loser in the holdem game, which is the opposite of what I would have predicted. They never opened a 10-20 nl but I was prepared to fire.
Back in Florida now and gonna grind Gretna this week to try and acquire a bunch of 20k guarantee tickets.

Hello fellas. Played some poker at Creek Entertainment this weekend. They had a 20k guarantee running and managed to get 3 1-3 nl holdem tables running at one point. It was shortly changed to 2 1-3 nl games and a 1-2 5$ bringin plo game. I played pretty bad in the tournament and lost a few big pots in the cash games so didn't end up as well as I had like.

On a brighter note I have a trip scouted out for this week. I will be heading to Tampa to stay and play at the Seminole Hardrock. I have been hitting up the brick and mortar thread trying to promote getting a 5-10 nl game up and running when Ill be in town. I think it will go as it usually does a couple times a week.

I arrive Wednesday and they will have the 125$ buyin 100k Little Slick tourament running and even a 585$ nlh satellite into the Seminole Hardrock Hollywood 5k coming up that has a 10 million guarantee. Again I will try to update better with hand history, player profiles in the game, etc .

I live 10 miles from it. Other hotels are a lot cheaper if you dont have the hook up there

Yeah I usually stay at a Sheraton in Brandon that is really nice and only like 50$ a night. This time I managed to get the hookup. They didn't even offer me a room I just called in and requested one and they gave it to me.

Def Feel free to come say hello.

Played at Creek Entertainment today. The game was 1-2 nl 200 max buyin which i typically cant stand, but today the lineup was excellent. We had a couple of dealers from Ebro playing and a few players who had played through the night that made for an excellent action game. I managed to get stuck 500$ before I took a lap and bought in for 200 more and ran it up to 1230 before I promptly returned most of it and cashed out 100$ winner. Super excited for the Biloxi trip. The games there are uncapped and I like to cover the table. Should be fun.

I got absolutely crushed by the deck today at Gretna. I really think this was the worst board runouts I have had ever. We're playing 1-3 nl and I stay around 1k covering the table adding more when I lose pots, which I did often. Could have been a huge day but instead I was a 2k loser in the game.

Hand 1: I button straddle to 6, sb complete, bb completes, utg+1 makes it 18, 4 callers, I call on button with T3off, blinds call 7 to the flop. Flop comes T32 with two spades, checks to utg+1 who bets 80 with about 400 total, folds to me I call, blinds fold. Turn is a nonspade 7. Utg+1 shoves for approx 320. I snap call. He has AsKs. AsKs spikes a spade in a 700+ pot.

Hand 2: 2 limps to me with Kd8d and I raise it up to 25 in the hj. Button calls, bb calls, limpers call. Flop is 842 all clubs. Checks to me I bet 75, button folds, bb folds, the first limper raises to 150, other limper folds, I reraise to 300, limper reraises to 550 total and I call. He tables 86 no spade. 86 spikes runner runner straight for 1100+ pot.

Hand 3: I button straddle and get 3d4h. Sb calls, bb calls, folds to me I check. Flop comes 346 two diamonds. Sb leads 10, bb folds, i raise to 30, sb reraises to 100, i put him all in for 280 and he calls with AA. The board runs out T, T and AA makes better two pair in a just under 600 pot.

Hand 4: 2 limpers to me I open AJ off to 25 in the cutoff, button calls, blinds fold, both limpers call. Flop comes A52 two diamonds. Checks to me I bet 100, button folds, first limper folds, second limper shoves for 355 total. I call. He shows 4d7d. 4d7d makes a flush with the Jd on the river for a 800+ pot.

I felt like I was playing decently well. Yeah I could have avoided a bunch of these spots by simply folding preflop. The most questionable hand was the Kd8d in my opinion. His range there is crushing my hand, but my read on the guy was that he could be making this play with a wide range of hands, which he did. Im not going to sweat it because its counterproductive I just wanted to vent by posting some of the hands here.

Thanks for reading.

PS: I did manage to win two all in pots. One was a guy who button straddled to 6 with a 100$ stack. 4 people limped, and I raised AJ to 35, the button shoved for 100 total and I called. He had QQ and I flopped both the A and the J. For a 200+ pot.

The other was a tricky play on my part where I had opened AcJs on the button, the bb called, and three other players called. The flop came AT3 with two diamonds, it checked to me and I checked for deception. The turn brought the third diamond and it checked to me again. I bet 100 and the sb shoved for 350 total. Everyone folded and I called and tabled AJ and it was good as the sb mucked his hand when a blank hit the river. That was good for a 800+ pot .

Headed to Biloxi tomorrow for a poker trip. They have their annual Regional Poker Series that has a 300k guarantee opening event and a 300k guarantee main event. If my girlfriend rolls with me I won't be able to play deep into the tournament so I will focus only on cash games. If she doesn't roll with me then I will be dabbling in both. She has been on the fence about going due to school starting Monday but the next 24 hours will tell. From experience I know that I suck at updating the thread while on a poker trip so I won't make any promises other than I will update when I can.
Soo excited. It's been a while since I had a few days to grind away.

Car is packed. My gf is rolling with after all. First time for that so we will see how this goes.

I was gonna stop here, but with this being my 1000th post Ill add a bit more.

Poker means a lot to me. It is an outlet of expression. I am able to relax, chat with players, get in their head, and challenge myself to play optimally given every unique situation. Playing a session I free. I have the means and ability to travel to a place where others go and spend my time competing for money. It's not 'so much' about winning or losing. I see each session as a drop in the bucket of all the hands I have played and will play. Variance has a way of shifting rapidly which leads me to believe that playing within a bankroll might be the most important concept if you want to play this game long term. Yes it is about winning in the sense of making more +EV plays and making less -EV plays but walking home a winner/loser is irrelevant as again each session is a drop in the bucket.

This trip I'm going to try something new. I know that the HUGE tournament turnout has an impact on the amount of cash game dealers available. So instead of opening a 5-10 nl list in hopes of filling it with 2-5 nl players who are gonna short buy, I will start a 10-20 nl or 10-25 nl list and try to get one of those going. Updates soon to come.

Just got back from the trip which was... ... ... AMAZING!!

We arrived around 9pm at the Beau, checked in, room was an ocean view on the 25th floor. We got settled in and decided to sleep a bit before putting in a sesh bc whats the rush now that Ive arrived and I have till Sunday to play.

I wake up at 3am, quietly grab 2500 out of the roll, head down to the poker room to find a 1-3 nl seat open. I buyin for 1k and after an orbit I get called for the 5-5 plo and put the 2500 on the table. I dropped to 1700 after losing a 4 way pot with about 3k in it, then i win a 4k pot where I flopped top set with nut flush draw on a Tx3h4h flop.

Day two consisted of waffle house breakfast (13.15$ with tip), some 1-3 nl, some 2-5 nl and dinner at oyster on a half shell cage which was excellent. Day two big hands were both at 2-5 nl. One I flopped bottom set on AQ9 flop and got paid on the river by AK when the river dropped a K. The other big hand was against a seemingly inferior player who called pre then bet/called flop then bet/called off on turn and couldnt beat QQ on a board of 975 5 3.

Day 3 was probably my favorite day. We slept in, ate some food in the room, went to the pool all day, napped, went to dinner, then played some 1-3 nl and 5-5 plo. This was the least profitable of the three days, but it was great to show my girlfriend what life is going to be like with me.

Leave the beau this morning around 630 and get back to Tally around 11 am. Feeling like a million bucks after a great weekend on and off the tables.

I didn't take notes at the table which i've been meaning to but Ill try my best to recant stack sizes, bet sizing, reads, etc.

5-10 nl 500-2500 buyin

I had taken a few beats earlier in the day so I went back to my room. I called a couple friends to air out the frustration, which they were nice enough to hear me out on. I consumed some bananas and sat back down in the 5-10 nl 500-2500 game with 2500. I recognized a few of the lineup from earlier in the day and there were a couple new players.

My third hand I pick up red AA in the bb. Action goes utg folds, utg +1 opens to 50 (new player who has me covered), 2 folds, hj calls, button folds, sb calls, I 3 bet to 225, utg+1 calls, others fold. 550$ going to the flop of KcKsQs. I lead out 225, utg+1 raises to 575, i tank and reraise to 1090, utg+1 folds. Looking back I don't think I would play this hand the same way. He probably has like AQ and I missed value.

Several orbits later... Utg (opened the table with me has about 2200 to start the hand) opens to 30, i look at QQ utg+1 and call, 4 other callers to the flop. 180$ pot going to a flop of Q73 rainbow. Utg bets 125, i call, everyone else folds. Turn 2 puts two hears. Utg bets 200, I call. River A. Utg bets 200, i raise to 700, he snap calls eager to show AQ. Missed a ton of value here too. I def should be putting a small raise in on turn to build pot to stack ratio and try to get stacks in on river.

It felt good to get some 5-10 nl hours in and I hope I can play better in Vegas next week.
