Hiking to the top of the world

Literally. It's not about the top of the poker world, but about the top of the physical world, that is - mountains

Welcome to my blog

Finally, I decided to take my love for the mountains seriously. It's just one of the best feelings in the world for me to hike and get there. Not always easy. Even 3-5 hr long up-walk could be 10x times harder than 15hr long MTT grind. But the pleasure of putting your feet on smallish euro summit is > than avg sex and > then 10-15k bink

Deep inside I have a dream to challenge myself to the very far edge and give myself a shot for Goddess of all, Chomolungma. But that's just dreamers dream for now. A lot of things should happen to get there. Firstly, luck not to die before reaching it, haha. Then the physical condition should be as of pro athletes and it's not a cheap venture. My current physical condition and claiming skills is enough for up to 3K euro summits only. Let's see what will happen tho, daily training, few six-figure scores and loads of luck will do it

The reason why I decided to create this blog is actually to keep myself accountable regarding daily physical training. I won't put any set goals, but I will keep the record here. With updates couple times a week.

If I feel good about that I might post about my poker adventures here as well. At this point, I am grinding MTT's with ABI of ~$60. But as of late, most of my time goes to coaching and managing Pocarr.ru, which is a Pocarr branch for Russian speaking players. We have an excellent group of players now and they are developing fast (thanks to Pocarr's coaching & management system).

My lifetime results until today

Summits

Perumal Peak ‎2,440 m (8,010 ft)
Dovska Baba / Frauenkogel 1,891 m (6,204 ft)
Jerebikovec 1,593 m (5,225 ft)

MTT results

so let's hike now!

Goal Nr 1: TRIGLAV

Triglav (pronounced [ˈtɾiːɡlau̯]; German: Terglau, Italian: Tricorno), with an elevation of 2,863.65 meters (9,395.2 ft), is the highest mountain in Slovenia and the highest peak of the Julian Alps.

Time: before WCOOP 2018

Best and basically only time to summit Triglav is starting from the end of August until the end of October. Before and after its too much snow.

Daily preparation

At least 10K steps (power walk)
From that at least 30 minutes of uphill and downhill walk
Leg strengthening exercises (20-30 minutes after a walk)
Mourning yoga (30 minutes)
Healthy food (3 times a day)

Yeah hiking kicks ass. Lot of hills around here in LA I like hiking up to the hollywood sign, Mt. Lee (1700 ft).

Good luck!

During scoop, my training felt out of the schedule, but now I will be on full track to Triglav.

At the Top of the Triglav: our guide Frenky (thumbs up), my wife (she was amazingly brave throughout the trip) and me

That was an amazing and unforgettable 2-day journey with some extreme in it. On the way back from the summit (2864m) to the mountain hut Kredarici (2515) it was raining, almost snowing at 3-4°. Small water rivers flowing along the climbing routes. Rocks where slippery and one mistake could mean gg.

Later after series ill post more here. Now jumping into WCOOP, Powerfest. glgl
