February

iPoker, -213 EUR in 2.8k hands (90 above EV);
App, -669 EUR in ~3k hands (who knows about EV);
MPN, 8.5k hands,

All in all, +188 EUR in just 14.3k hands. Still a winning month.

Ran good in the first week, then ran horrid + skipped 1 week due to flu. Everything is fine, but the problem is pretty obvious - I just don't play enough hands!

So the goal for March is obvious - get those hands in! Gonna focus pretty much only on MPN, and gonna play everything. HU-6max, PLO50-100, everything that runs, even if the table is meh. I was checking PLO200 games today, and the tables looked just as good, so I really need to grind that roll for those games!

I'm still alive

I'm heading to Japan for 9 days on Wednesday, and I will post my March results after my return. I plan to play a bit tomorrow and I won't have spare time to post results, so be patient. You can also expect to see some cool pictures from my trip (hopefully haha). I've never been to Japan before and I'm pretty excited as everyone says it's really nice there. I guess I'll see for myself.

Nvm last post, here are MARCH results:

Hand count is x2, so ~25k hands.

PLO100:

PLO50:

Overall:

PLO50 didn't treat me too well, especially HU. But overall I'm happy with my results as EV is +2.4k EUR. I definitely increased my hands/hour, but there is still a lot of room for improvements (although I'm grinding from laptop w/o extra monitor).

I tried to add PS 100z for the times when games are dead, but.. I had forgotten my PIN (and my phone number is not active rn), contacted support and they required me to re-send ID and utility bill. I did that, but my utility bill is in a language they "don't support" and I need to get it notarized. Ughh.. + also got warning for trying to access my account from restricted country (Sweden). Idk how that happened as I stopped using Swedish IP since they changed regulation.

Anyway, going back home in middle of May, gonna set up my PS account then. Meanwhile gotta keep pushing hands/hour in current site as my winrate is very good already. I'll be staying in my home country until I've moved up to PLO200 as my expenses are so low there and I can grow my BR quickly-ish. I really want to avoid next winter as well, so I plan to shoot PLO200 quite aggressively.

I'm back! Japan trip was nice, although I was freezing most of the time. It was 6 to 16 °C - something I'd consider warm-ish 6 month ago, but now I'm used to tropical climate. I got ton of cool pictures from the trip, but I guess I'm too lazy to post them - just check out z0mgtiltz trip report - I went to pretty much the same places. Maybe I'll post some later when I get all the pictures from my gf (her photography skills are nuts). Although it was nice, I don't think I want to go back there. Apart from food, there's nothing special there, felt very similar to Northern Europe. People aren't smiling much - all about the work and no play. Everything is how it's supposed to be, therefore boring. Very different from how it's in Philippines - here it's all about fun and pretty much Wild West, and people are smiling all the time and wearing colourful clothes. Even my wardrobe which used to be black/white/dark blue has some colour in it now

I've got roughly 5 weeks left here in Philippines until I fly back home. I'll probably have a short trip to some island before I leave, but apart from that plan is just to run good in flips and grow roll in preparation for PLO200 shots that I plan to do when home where I have very low fixed expenses.

I'm currently at 71 kg body weight, so I've gained 11 kg so far since January which I'm quite happy about. I'll probably end up around 73-74kg at the time of leaving - I'll post a before/after pic then.

Been sooooo long since my previous +1k eur day, finally happened Yesterday. Just a bit above EV

That's an interesting take on Japan, literally the first person I've heard of that didn't enjoy their trip! I understand what you mean though and Japan (Tokyo) can be very "cold" and lonely despite being a brightly lit city that never sleeps.

At least you enjoyed the food heh

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the trip! Mt Fuji is epic and climbing all the way up to the top of the mountain throgh the torii gates in Fushimi Inari shrine in kimono was really amazing. Maybe should give it another shot, this time in warm weather And when it's not peak tourism season with oceans of people everywhere.

April

What a great month! Last session I played was on 19th. Been having high fever and other fun stuff since then. Went to the hospital couple of days ago, was diagnosed with acute tonsillopharyngitis, been on antibiotics since then. But the thing is - it's not getting any better, even opposite. So I'll head back to hospital and try again, probably with different antibiotics. Doctor checkup in hospital costs 5 eur btw. I though I even had insurance, but it had ended last month. Oh well.

Poker wise can't complain, got 2/3 of my years EV back or so, and just ~14k hands.

And on top of this, I managed to spend just 400-450 eur this month (no more rent), of which 80 is for my upcomming Boracai trip. 2 more weeks till going home!

Just 10 days till my flight.. And I got admitted to hospital. My insurance probably won't cover. I really didn't want to do it, but 2 weeks of high fever, and lvl 4 tonsils (totally covered with white) so I can't swallow much. Still idk what it is, but I think docs assume it's fungal caused infection. Oh well, will update when (if) I get out. Bye bye BR. Guys, if you go overseas, don't just buy insurance month to month, but all in one stretch.

I spent 6 days in hospital, bill was ~2k eur. 75% of bill came from pharmacy. I had combo infection of tonsillopharyngitis followed by fungal infection in throat when the immune system was at it's lowest. But the good news is - I'm still alive and both infections have been killed. I'm still on medication for few more days.

This really sets me back with my moving up plans, but not much I can do about it. And health is more important.

can you please explain why exactly your insurance didn't cover your expenses?

I was buying travel insurance in 1-2 month stretches and the one I had ended before I was admitted to hospital but after I got sick. So I bought the new one while I was sick already and they don't cover anything if you buy it after getting sick. I filed all the documents Yesterday and will get answer in 15 days, so fingers crossed. I'm not expecting a payday tho.

Anyway, I'm back in my home country now, health is good and I'm trying to adjust to 5h time difference. Back on grind on Monday! Have to move roll so I can play legally here.

Ohh and one more sad part about my sickness - I lost almost all of my weight gains, lost 7-8 kg in 2-3 weeks and now I'm just 64 kg (I was super close to feeding/breathing tube)

Just played my first session after a month break. 18 min into session and this happened. I'm pretty sure this is the first time in my life I quad over quad someone. Just noticed I wasn't 100bb - moved skin and auto top up wasn't on

    $0.25/$0.50 Pot Limit Omaha Cash, 5 Players
    Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

    SB: $50 (100 bb)
    Hero (BB): $49 (98 bb)
    MP: $62.38 (124.8 bb)
    CO: $98.25 (196.5 bb)
    BTN: $98.79 (197.6 bb)

    Preflop: Hero is BB with T 9 8 T
    MP raises to $1.75, 2 folds, SB calls $1.50, Hero calls $1.25

    Flop: ($5.25) 7 T J (3 players)
    SB checks, Hero bets $3.50, MP calls $3.50, SB folds

    Turn: ($12.25) 7 (2 players)
    Hero checks, MP bets $12.25, Hero calls $12.25

    River: ($36.75) T (2 players)
    Hero checks, MP bets $36.75, Hero calls $31.50 and is all-in

    Spoiler:
    Results: $99.75 pot ($1.50 rake)
    Final Board: 7 T J 7 T
    Hero showed T 9 8 T and won $98.25 ($49.25 net)
    MP showed 6 K 7 7 and lost (-$49 net)

    It seems that action on MPN has died even more. What sucks is that MPN is the only poker room I can legally play in my home country. I can even be fined if I try to access other gambling web sites. I tried to run PS with and without VPN, no success. Looks like the only way to add more action is to go China I swore I'm done with apps ughh.. I had good experience with PPPoker some time ago tho, and it had 2 blind structure (3 blinds in PLO is aids), so I might give it another try, gotta research a bit first.

    MAY

    Started playing again only on 19th and that first week was just 2-3h a day. This week did solid volume with 5-7h a day + study time. Also added 2 tables of app this week, so that helps getting hands in.

    Real hand cound is x2 as usual

    +300 eur from app in 2.7k hands, so total ~+900 eur in 13k hands. Oh well, can't complain for 1.5 week work.

    June goals:

    30k hands [ ] Been a long time since I reached this number, so lets do it!
    4x workout a week [ ] Haven't worked out since I got sick;
    69 kg body weight [ ] 66 kg now.

    JUNE

    Can finally download all hands from MPN. They haven't sent me hands from last 10 days but gonna post without them. Graph has some weird straight stretches so I guess the missing hands (the ones I don't contribute to the pot) just adds up in bulks for each day.

    Missing ~3k hands I guess

    Played 10.8k hands with avg bb ~0.75 eur on apps for +1722 EUR, and my total profit is +2640 EUR.

    Basically ran hot in the first week, and then suffered 30 BI downer at MPN which is very normal yet frustrating. Kept winning steadily in apps throughout the month. Games in MPN have been pretty bad lately and even getting worse by every week as apparantly more regs come in cos of HH change in Party/MPN I suppose. I often see 6 regs at table or 5 regs + 1 -30bb/100 rec which cannot be profitable for anyone at this 12-14bb/100 rake everyone is paying. I'm thinking of shifting app/MPN ratio to favour app (been playing 2 tables of app), but I'm scared of having too much exposure there. I've had 2 successful cashouts already so I guess I should take more risk in order for higher winrate.

    I am very satisfied with my work ethic this month as I played 5-6h every single work day and reached my volume goal. It's been the most consistent month in a long time and it's actually my best month so far this year monetary wise as well.

    30k hands [X]
    4x workout a week [ ] Worked out just thrice last week;
    69 kg body weight [X] 69.5 kg +/-

    Another thing is that I'm starting to feel that some regs at my stakes are starting to pass me. I haven't done any serious work on my game for quite a while apart from watching some free videos on youtube and following some chat group that has some really good players. I feel like it's time to invest some time and money in my game again.

    For now, I'll just keep grinding the hours in July. I need ~2k more to my roll, and I will take a shot at ~PLO170 in app. Could happen next week or next month, can't predict the variance.

    Hand of the month: tbf I got one outered the very next day. Just 160bb pot tho.

      $0.25/$0.50 Pot Limit Omaha Cash, 5 Players
      Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

      Hero (SB): $169.40 (338.8 bb)
      BB: $108.77 (217.5 bb)
      MP: $50 (100 bb)
      CO: $122.38 (244.8 bb)
      BTN: $50 (100 bb)

      Preflop: Hero is SB with T K K 9
      MP raises to $1.75, CO calls $1.75, BTN folds, Hero calls $1.50, BB folds

      Flop: ($5.75) A K 4 (3 players)
      Hero checks, MP bets $4, CO raises to $17.75, Hero calls $17.75, MP folds

      Turn: ($45.25) 2 (2 players)
      Hero checks, CO bets $45.25, Hero raises to $149.90 and is all-in, CO calls $57.63 and is all-in

      River: ($251.01) K (2 players, 2 are all-in)

      Spoiler:
      Results: $251.01 pot ($1.50 rake)
      Final Board: A K 4 2 K
      Hero showed T K K 9 and won $249.51 ($127.13 net)
      CO showed 8 T A A and lost (-$122.38 net)

      July goals

      30k hands [ ];
      4x workout a week [ ];
      Step my foot into a proper gym [ ];
      72 kg body weight [ ] that was my pre-sickness weight back in Ph.

      Thanks buddy! Btw you're one of those really good players I mentioned haha

      Not shooting higher stakes this week yet unfortunately. Actually had one of my biggest ever losing weeks so I'm closer to dropping PLO100.. Oh well, I'll clean the tables next week! Invested some $ in study material, so gonna spend many hours on it this month.
