MARCH
As I'm done with the month and about to leave for my Easter holidays, I may as well update.
1) 120h play / 40h study; [ ] 95h/34h
2) Don't play session longer than 90' unless there is an extraordinary whale; [X]
3) Quit playing if feeling tired / losing focus (browsing internet on other screen etc); [X]
4) 15 work outs; [X] 18 (planned)
5) 150 pages of literature. [ ] I'm at 100 with 3 more days do go. Unlikely gonna hit..
1) Graph - total hand count is ~25k
2) Stakes ( it's 3k$ profit btw)
1) Failed with my volume goals.
2) Was frustrated for most of the month. My mental game is where I can improve the most. I didn't reach my volume goals due to these mental issues.
3) Made an effort to be focused at tables - closed my tabs at 2nd screen as soon I realized I had opened fb/etc. Also played fewer tables in general - just 3-4, sometimes even 2 tabling. I'm not looking to extract the most EV out of my play time just yet - I want to keep improving my game and move up! When I settle in stake, then I can start adding extra tables. But for now - play my best and gain confidence!
4) Got lazy with studying - not enough my own calcs. Must change my study time back in favour of cals > videos.
5) With 8bb/100 EV at PLO100 I'm finally confident that I CAN and ALREADY AM crushing this limit! There are still a lot to improve, but that's a neverending cycle. A couple more tweaks and I WILL CRUSH PLO200 in no time!
Couple of things I've noticed I do when my mental game is off:
1) I oversleep. Not setting alarm and not getting out of my bed. Which leads to feeling tired all day ---> not playing A game ---> MORE FRUSTRATION;
2) Not studying after bad days. Feeling "**** poker" and not pushing myself to put in daily study hours. And if I do, they are low quality hours.
3) I'm still struggling with my performance anxiety - I tend to play longer hours (full schedule) in losing days and am playing less hours in winning days. I know that doesn't make any logical sense as just like most, I play better when am winning and the other way around, therefore this is VERY costly mental leak.
BUT HOW DO I FIX IT?
Also I'm probably getting a little bit burnt out / borderline depression state as I've let my social life slip away in favour of this quick acceleration in PLO, but that's what I chose to do in order to reach PLO200, so gonna try to ride it a litttle bit more and then take it easier in Summer.
April goals:
1) 120h play;
2) 40h study. At least 20h my own calcs;
3) 18 workouts - gotta start increasing this number as season is coming and I do plan to compete a little bit (running);
4) No oversleeping;
5) Start meditate / mindfulness. No idea how to do as I've never done it, so not gonna set targets just jet. Hopefully it can help my mental game;
6) No distractions while playing.
