I haven't, they usually don't let you rawdog in soapies Did Nataree back when it was open, and Colonze II, was ok but the soapy experience is a bit too Asian for me. Just picking a girl from a fishbowl with no getting to know her first, no lap dancing, chatting.... prefer the gogo bars

Hey guys,

Sorry for being terrible at posting updates - just hasn't been at the forefront of my mind.

Poker

I am pretty hyped to show you my last 20k hands of 200z though:

I am about to enter the final month for my D7 deal and we make a larger post about how the year has gone as a whole.

Girls

Recently slept with my 73rd girl of the year, 24 non hookers to 49 hookers

If I get to a 100 by the end of the year I'll write a post about it (i've kept track of them all lol.

Life

As for life... Long story short I got arrested when a friends crazy gf reported to the police that we were having a drugs party (we wasn't(.

The police came around and found my friends weed, arrested him and me for possession and him for usage after testing us both. I've never actually smoked weed in my entire life lol and my friend claimed all the weed was his. So it's total bull****.

Out on bail atm waiting for court date, will go into more detail about bribes and how fun jail was after its all over with.

Cliffs are that I'll be in Thailand for at least another 3 months (yay) and I won't be going back to jail (double yay) but there's a big queue at the courts.

Actually had this conversation with someone the other day, and I have concluded that sex is certainly better with hookers.

Firstly there is obvs exceptions in both cases, and there is a slight skill in picking a 'good' hooker. Generally the incredibly hot ones aren't the best, they get chosen all the time and want to spend as little time with you as possible, but the key to having a great time is to be super business like about the whole thing and get exactly what you want... 'Do you do anal?' 'how do you feel about rusty trombones?'

Also in a weird way I think hookers are cleaner than girls I find for one night stands, its their jobs at the end of the day and if they catch something/get pregnant they are a bit screwed and high end bars will sack them. Where are some one night stands I've had have jumped on without giving me chance to reach for a condom. Also one night stands are very hit and miss, some girls are very lazy, usually its late at night and they are tired and want to sleep, just an unacceptable thing to do if they were hookers.

So overall I'd say there's less risk of a bad time with a hooker and therefore overall he sex is much better.

It's usually really small if it goes to court. Then it's actually a fine, not a 'fine' (bribe to not have a court trial take place at all, nor any time waiting in a cell).

Ok so here's the long version of what happened:

Get back to my condo, where I live with 2 grinders that both have gf's. One is with his gf getting ready to go and the other one and I are grinding.

Birchall, another friend of ours, that doesn't live with us has had an argument with his crazy Thai gf, he was close by at the time so she assumed that he came to our place - she storms in and demands to see him. We are use to her and know she's crazy, are busy grinding so just calmly tell her he's not here and she's welcome to look for him. One of the grinders gf's assures her he's not here and she leaves pretty pissed off.

Friend 1 and his gf go out for a meal and about 15 minutes later we here a knock at the door. Most people we know just walk in as we leave the door unlocked when we are inside. We are both grinding and shout come in. A few seconds later the door knocks again and friend 2 said at this point he heard the door slowly open. I get up to answer the door, where I see 4-5 police officers with holstered guns staring at me with the condo owner. I shout to friend 2 that the police are here, and he gets up to sort himself out.

I'm told they are here to investigate a disturbance, which I assume is the crazy gf screaming down the phone at her bf in the corridor which has made someone else in the building call the police (she was pretty screechy ).

I wasn't sure what I was suppose to do in this situation, they were slowly edging forward like they were coming in and I had nothing to hide and my instincts were just to let them come in and see... Still assuming they were here to investigate a disturbance I tell them no one is here and beckon them in to take a look.

Big mistake...

Firstly I totally forgot about the weed, just wasn't at the forefront of my mind as I have never smoked weed in my life and I still think they looking for the girl that was screaming. But friend 2 is a big weed smoker, had been smoking weed fairly recently, and was blazed.

They went straight for the drawers, found his leftovers, found his grinder, it was this point I thought 'she, wtf have I done' we were both white as they search through everything in the communal areas.

The condo owner was being very helpful by telling me how I didn't have to let them in... thanks mate.

Friend 2 calls his gf, Birchall turns up and tells us his gf rang the police and told them we were having a drug party, the owner calls his son and grandson to come help us.

The 2 other grinders play on some other poker sites like pppoker, an app they use to play in thailand and they use ipads that bleep with notifications all the time. The ipads had started to bleep and now they were looking at those and accusing us of gambling, which is illegal in Thailand. Now, I think I'm going to jail for many many years, I can hardly speak. They find a bag of friend 2's weed under an ipad case... they got us.

They ask to search my room, of course I let them, I have nothing to hide and I see this as me helping them as much as possible. They search it and find nothing. Friend 2 uses this opportunity to hide the rest of the weed in his room and the pill he also had. For some reason after they search my room and find nothing they stop searching. Maybe because they had enough to scare us into a bribe now?

At this point there are about 11 police officers in our condo (wtf?) condo owner and his son and grandson, birchall me and friend 2 and friend 2's gf.

Now a young police officer trying to make his mark wants me to open up the laptops and show him whats on there, I know full well pokerstars will pop up if I do so I try to open the laptop and shut down stars before he comes round to look at it properly, but as i try to 'x' it off stars asks me 'are you sure you want to close the tables?' like one time? The guy sees the screen as I close that, I argue it wasn't gambling as he literally would have seen it for a split second. But now all the laptops and ipads are being confiscated for a tech guy to take a look at, my life is literally over.

They want to now take us to the station with the small bag of weed they have, the laptops and to test our urine. The grandson of the owner is trying to talk to them, I'm also trying to tell the grandson that if we go to the station my urine will be fine but friend 2 will not be. He says we pretty much don't have a choice and off to the station we go. During all this we had told friend 1 not to come home and get mixed up in it all, but now me, friend 2, Birchall, friend 2's gf and the son and grandson of the owner were all going to the station with about 11 officers. We had a full motorcade

Get to the station, got to what I would describe as a side shed office thing. Me and friend 2 piss in a cup, his comes back off the charts and my comes back negative with slight traces. The police suggest that he has just smoked and I have got some from second hand smoke, pretty accurate. But friend 2 is still convinced it must be from his trip to Cambodia 11 weeks prior...

The condo owners grandson is taking a lead talking us through the process, he essentially says don't worry, everything is scare tactics to try to get a bigger bribe. And if it comes down to it his uncle had chunks, 300k baht, about $9k usd. We got friend 1 to get about $4.5k together in baht also and give it to the uncle outside.

So we went along with it, took the mug shots, pics with the weed, watch them weight it at 12.7g etc. Now it was time to sign some documents, obvs written it Thai. The condo owners were Indian, they could speak thai well enough but reading it was another story, so that's when friend 2's gf to step up. She definitely was flustered, this was a big moment for her, her bf potentially going to jail and obviously we were relying on her to get this right. She also had the police hounding her to hurry up and get us to sign it. As far as I was aware, we were signing to say that Friend 2 was the owner of the drugs, he was also admitting to using the drugs and I was just a witness. The form also said that we had been offered a lawyer and a official translator and the police had done everything by the book. In the meantime the uncle was working on the bribe.

I was very scared to sign, I wanted some assurances. I wanted to know I was going to be back at my own bed that night. But I was also being told by the Indian guys that being a nuisance is gonna mess up the bribe and they guy was thinking about taking it. So listening to the people in the know I signed to say I was a witness.

We'd been in the shed for some time, but now we had gone through the process and were just waiting, not sure for what...

We were then escorted to the main police building. We sat in front of what I would call administrators, but all in full police uniform. They wanted to see our passports and visa documents.

Myself and friend 2 had actually got ourselves new Passports whilst in thailand, all legit and above board, but we now had 2 passports, one invalid with our current visa stamps and one new with no stamps. My fun for the evening was trying to explain that, I even had a letter from the UK embassy explaining it, it wasn't a super uncommon thing to do given the amount of UK expats living in thailand.

After we explained this to the main admin guy, he sat back in his char and said 'I don't believe you.' I almost laughed, keeping our passports legit and having all the right visa is a huge ball ache in thailand, but we absolutely do it. So the thing that I knew was 100% not an issue they were trying to make an issue, I found that amusing and it tied in with the story of them just trying to intimidate us (I didn't actual laugh at any point fwiw).

After this rigmarole, we are getting escorted somewhere else, the uncle makes eye contact with me and gives me a little bit of advice for how to negotiate a bribe, this was my moment to shine!

We get taken around through corridor, our phones, shoes and string that goes through our shorts are confiscated, but not our wallets! I know whats coming...

That's right... we were taken into a cell and locked up.

Let that sink in for a moment...

Thai jail cell. Locked. Up.

At this point I didn't believe it was real. Surely this was still part of the scare tactics? Was the random other guy in the cell part of the plan?

Friend 2's gf came in to find us, she was upset, reality was kicking in.

Apparently we would have to wait for tomorrow to go see the judge etc. ****ing Marvelous. Does anyone remember the point where I actually got arrested? Because I certainly didn't.

I believe we were arrested, if you can call it that, on the 12th of September. Our visa's ran out on the 17th, so I made sure the gf knew that she needed to be aware if they delay it for any reason we'd be screwed about that also.

She came back about an hour later with food and told us the date had been delayed another day because we had been processed after midnight. Great.

I couldn't really eat to be honest, but the best thing I had for a pillow was the 1.5 litre water bottle. We shared the food with the thai cell mate, because I hear making friends not enemies is a good thing in life and that probably carries a bit more weight in jail.

That night was a night of just thinking, hardly sleeping and avoiding the cockroaches.

The next day was slightly more interesting, firstly a rather nice Italian guard was asking us what we were in for, saying how it was such a shame that we couldn't have paid a fine and been done with it all. He was gonna help us and talk to the captain, see what he could do, what a lovely guy.

He comes back a few hours later and we have to give them our finger prints. He is telling us how our case is too far in the system, but we had 27g of weed and we could pay a fine to get the amount reduced. With the amount as it stood we'd be looking at up to 6 years. Obviously we wanted it reduced, please help us do whatever you can.

He told us not to worry, it would be sorted. Don't mention anything to anyone he could get in trouble. No problem!

Birchall and Friend 2's gf came to visit, we told them about our new Italian friend. Birchall seemed confused, but wasn't the amount only 12.7g anyway? That certainly rang a bell... hmmm.

We chatted with them for a bit, but I wasn't in a talkative mood. Then went to buy us some more food. Then all of a sudden the Italian comes in and he is blowing up! I told you not to tell anyone! That's the last time I try to help you! We try to apologize, but he's having none of it. I know you told your friends! I could get in trouble! You've made a big mistake!

To say we were furious, was an understatement.

Next thing we know we are being escorted upstairs, we see birchall and the gf on the way up and they come with us to a more office type environment. We with our good ole friend, the administrator 'I don't believe you' guy. Great.

He was writing up the statement, apparently what we signed yesterday was friend 2 admitting to possessing and useage and me admitting to possession. You what mate? Nah, don't send that to the court, I've never done drugs, I let the police in, friend 2 has admitted it's all his and I literally have no idea why I'm here... I demanded a lawyer, I wasn't falling for this again.

I was then told, if I ask for a lawyer or change the statement, that he would advise the court to not provide us with bail. At this point I felt totally helpless, but friends 2 gf took some initiative and called a lawyer who advised me to say 'not guilty' so I did. The admin **** was tilted, but at least we had some actual legit advice for once.

Now back to the cell for another fun night. This time the cells were full of druggos. One guy was having what sounded like the worst come down I've ever witnessed, constantly shouting 'Someone please help me I'm gonna die, why won't you help me' etc, all goddam night. As you can probably guess, no one helped him. We also had a new cell mate, but he seemed like a reg, the guards all knew his name, and he got his phone to chill and call people and talk to them all night. At least if I couldn't sleep his business was going well, every cloud and all that.

Next day couldn't come quick enough, the lawyer the gf called was coming, I'm hoping I just get let off tomorrow. I got no idea what could have been going through Friend 2's head.

Finally the next day, 4 of us are put in the back of a 2 seat police car for a 30 minute journey. Get to court and obvs everything works on 'Thai time' which basically means everyone is late for everything all the time. Friend 2 has prepped a speech about back pain and starting to smoke in colorado where it's legal, I had prepared a speech about none of this having anything to do with me.

We were in a correction room, a room with a sheet of glass in front of us where the judge presumably would sit and us druggos are on the other side. From the sound of things from the other guys with us, it was marijuana Thursday, all the guys there had been caught with it or using it.

Friend 2's gf was here, but the lawyer wasn't... Eventually someone wheeled out a TV, just like they would at school when your teacher couldn't be bothered to teach today. Me and friend 2 are called up to the TV, still no lawyer. The TV turns on and there's a guy on the other side talking in thai, I guess lucky the gf was here to be the 'official' translator again. We confirmed our names and that was it... Off to another jail cell.

What? What? What the f**K? another frigging cell? What about our speeches our lawyer? What the hell is going on???

So now I'm in more of a holding type cell, but I'm freaking the hell out, I can see a bus outside that is obviously meant for escorting prisoners to the 'real' jail, none of these holiday camps we had been to already.

We get called out to some sort of visitor centre, this is a lot more like the movies, where you need a phone to talk to people on the other side. Finally the lawyer has arrived, so glad he could make it, I'm sorry if we were some sort of inconvenience to his day. the gf essentially told us that they were trying to sort our bail. I have to admit the wind had fallen out of my sail at this point. Probably 2 nights with little to no sleep and the stress of the situation, relying on them to now figure out a way to navigate the legal system to get us out quickly was not filling me with confidence.

Hours passed, but they pulled it off! We got out on bail, Around 100k baht total, which is repaid if we turn up to court type deal. I have to admit having someone to rely on in what seemed like a dire situation was an absolute life saver, massive shout out to her. I told my friend I had fallen in love with her a little bit after that. He was cool with it.

I update my family, I go back to the condo, I sleep for about 13 hours. My mind is still constantly thinking. Luckily it was because the lawyer had told us our visa was covered during the trial period. Turns out that wasn't true at all. We had to somehow get our passports back and go to get a visa extension. It was now the weekend though so we couldn't do anything. My family told me to speak to the visa office but I had spelt to long to speak to them that day.

Monday was a busy day, we had to speak to immigration and we had a meeting with a new lawyer office. Immigration were pissed off they hadn't been informed straight away that they weren't informed that 2 UK nationals had been arrested, however they were now aware of it and they would be following the case incase it goes badly etc. but they said they they would have advised us to get a lawyer and that's about it at this stage. Great, thanks for being so useful.

We meet with a new lawyer, because screw the guy that didn't know our visa was gonna be screwed. They tell us they want £1k gbp each for the whole case. We don't really have time to shop around so we bite the bullet. We are gonna pay the £1k now and £1k after the trial, so if I go to jail they can suck a dick.

We go straight to the court and request our passports, a ridiculously arduous task. I'm not even sure why they get to hold our passports? But the lawyers say letting the court have them shows good faith. After several hours of deliberating if they were ok with us getting back our passports in order to stay legally in their country while they hold us against our will we get them back. We then go to the other side of Bangkok to the immigration building for the more fun task of getting a visa extension. This is literally the worst building in the world and is what my version of hell would be. Imagine the snootiest secretary or receptionists you've ever dealt with combined with actually power, i.e the ability to decide if you can stay in the country and they decide based how they feel at the time whether they can speak english (whether they can be bother to deal with you) or not.

We spend the rest of the evening waiting to be seen, and eventually get seen to be told that the person that ake decisions has left for the day, we have some confusion about the new passports and have to pay a 1.5k baht fine for a 3 day over stay, caused by jail and then the weekend. We then get a 2 week consideration visa, which essentially means we have to go back to hell in 2 weeks to get an actual visa.

Next day we have to hand the passports back into court, about an hour and a half from where we live.

Friend 1 has now left to go back to the UK, just made sense as his visa ran out and he didn't want to get dragged into the mess.

We spent this week handing our passports back in, and then meetings with the lawyers explaining our situation and asking questions. the most tilting thing with the lawyer meetings was them constantly talking to friend 2's gf in thai for like 20 minutes and then she would tell us about 1 sentence of dialogue. My love for her was fading fast. I would repeatedly ask the same questions, mainly because I would get a different answer or some sort of waffle that didn't actually answer my question each time i was asked.

Our condo contract finished at the end of the month, there was no point staying in a 3 bed place 1.5 hours from the courthouse where we had to check in every 2 weeks until we got a trial date, so we agreed not to abandon each other and find another condo closer for 1 month, monthly made sense as we had no idea how long this process would take, one of my question I never got the answer to from the lawyers.

2 weeks later we check into court and we go to immigration and get another 2 week extension, so still have to go through the same process again with court and immigration. Why don;t they just goddam talk to each other?

We are now staying in a new condo about 20 minutes away from the court, an we are just playing a waiting game. The long days out to court and immigration we're taking a toll on our stress levels.

The next time we went to immigration was really fun! Turns out the second 2 week 'consideration' period wasn't a consideration period at all... it was a 2 week visa, so now we had to reapply, the most annoying part about this was the idea that we have to perpetually do this every 2 weeks... So we are now blowing up! Obviously now we are taking issue with the process, no speaks English!! Friend 2's gf was having all the conversations directed at her, and she is very timid and not taking it very well. When we go back inside to collect our passports with our 2 week 'consideration' period we tell her to come in with us to force them to talk to us... That worked a little bit but we still only got 2 weeks, despite all the documents from the court about 90 day visa requirements.

They told us it should be a short case... Well who made them gods and let them decide... there's a goddam letter here that says 90 days... Just do your job? But as I hope you cannot imagine, this frustrating part of my experience lead absolutely no where.

We had to leave our new airbnb 1 month condo on the 30th of October and we had an apparently big check in/court date on the 1st of November. Kinda annoying how the dates worked, but everything had been going so well so far. It was really annoying to move our stuff constantly, my main issues was my office chair and my screen I use for grinding.

Anyway, eventually he told me he was moving in with his gf and I was off on my own, so much for not abandoning each other, but I didn't mind. I half decided I was just gonna leave my office chair to save moving it and hope I wasn't gonna miss it too much, it was just a ***** to move about. My friend told me that he couldn't help me move to my hotel, because his gf didn't have any more room in her car because she was having my chair...

I can't tell you how much that pissed me off. I nearly threw the chair out the window if I'm honest with you. Awkward spot though, because it's not like she should be obliged to give me a lift.

I did my best to not blow up, and through some logistical bad planning on their side they were gonna have to do 2 trips regardless, which I used to help scam myself a lift with my stuff to my hotel near to court. Goodbye chair

Next day was the apparent big day, I walked to court I was half an hour early. Friend 2 was texting me saying how his gf went out last night for Halloween and was throwing up on the toilet and they were stuck in traffic potentially gonna be very late. I choose to use my new found strength of not blowing up to ignore the messages. My initial thoughts were, if a time had passed that you were gonna be late you should have gone and got a taxi. He had all court documents, we just ended up keeping them all together in one file during the case...

Lawyers turned up, even the senior lawyer this time, not the juniors helping us with all the check-ins. 8.30 we were told to be there, it was now 9am with no sign of Friend 2, we were now being taken to another room... Please one time turn up right now... Still no sign. I'm in another building now, last time I was here I was thought I was getting out and got taken to another cell, fun times.

But then Friend 2 and his gf turn up, he gets out and is furious and she continues to park the car. I explain how he should have got a taxi, but he says he was going to, but she kep saying 2 minutes, 2 minutes, and too much time had passed so she was his only option. He told me how he's totally blown up on her on the way here and they wasn't talking, this was the one day out of all the days she helped us that actually mattered more than all the others. But he was here now.

The room is separated again by a lass pane to keep the judges separated from the criminals. The criminal side was then separated into 2 groups, one for the handcuffed people in jumpsuits and the other for freshmen that haven't been through that induction just yet.

A very smiley thai guys come up to us both and introduces himself as our translator, the thing I remember most about him was his massive smile, regardless of how solemn we must have looked.

We were first up on the docket. 2 female judges behind the glass pane, one fairly young and the other more senior. We stood in front of them as a 4, translator, friend 2, me lawyer.

We confirmed our names.

Now for our plea...

I hadn't been through the stress of this for me. On the one hand in my head I haven't done anything wrong, friend 2 had taken all of the blame, but thai law was very fuzzy on this situation, the lawyer said it would be hard to believe that I didn't know about the weed, they assured me pleading guilty would be the best thing to do. The police had named me as the owner of the condo, if I plead not guilty I would have to go to trial, and the very earliest date for a the initial part of a trial would be 3 months and this is a very busy court so most likely a decent chunk of time longer. On the other hand, friend 2 who was always pleading guilty, would get his punishment and get to go home...

I absolutely did not want to plead guilty. I was gettign different answers everytime I asked the lawyers about possible jail time and possible black listing from Thailand and effects this may have on my record in the UK etc. And then even more answers on the internet, all the lawyers would tell me is examples from other cases, nothing was ever concrete.

Fwiw, possession of weed carries a maximum sentence of up to 5 years and a maximum fine of up to 100k baht. This is then down to the judge, and obviously varies based on the amount and situation, but anything subjective when your life is on the line isn't comforting at all.

I was also gettign everything 3rd hand from the lawyers as they would speak to my friends gf, who would then speak to my friend and then me, so all my question also had to go up this chain. My friend would get frustrated with me if I repeated a question, which I only did if I wasn't satisfied with an answer, but like I said, tensions and stress level were high.

So my friend pleaded guilty and so did I... I didn't want to but at the time it seemed like the most sensible thing to do.

Now for the sentence, which was are getting from the judge and then through the guy that can't stop smiling.

'ok, the judge has accepted your plea and is going to sentence you to 3 months in jail' he smiled...

My stomach sank, I looked at the lawyer and he was beckoning to me to not react, but I could see his fluster on his inexperienced face (the senior lawyer was sitting behind us).

'...but, because you plead guilty, court will reduce this to 1.5 months!' He looked as gleeful as ever as he delivered that...

My mouth was gawped open. What had I done?

'...but, if you pay a fine today the court will show you mercy and no jail!'

Oh my god! Wow, how much? Just tell me how much, take it all!

'Friend 2, your fine will be 3k baht, and Richard, your fine will be, 2500 baht ($75)'

Wow... all of this for that small amount of money.

We sat back down, but after the time we've had I was never gonna be relaxed until I was out of there.

It's now 12pm, and of course no one in thailand works at 12pm as everyone should go on lunch at the same time. So waited for hours until it was over and we left. Friend 2 paid my fine, what a nice guy, drop in the ocean compared to the lawyer fee, but I appreciated the gesture nonetheless.

We walk out of court and all I want to know is if I can go home, I had already researched the flights, I knew there was one direct to heathrow that evening, but we still had to wait for some letter from the court to let immigration know they were done with us.

The lawyers left us and we waited the rest of the day for our passports back, nothing is done quickly in this country. We get them back and we have a letter with them, I'm hoping this is the one I need to be able to leave the country right away. Turns out it was!

I was on a flight that night 00:15. I could never sleep on planes but I slept on that one! I landed at -5 degrees in heathrow in my shorts and t-shirt, but I couldn't care less.

I got a bus to Birmingham, got a taxi to my front door, I call my mom and did the best impression of my teary voice and said 'Mom... I didn't wanna tell you this, but Friend 2 has been given 3 months... and they gave me... 45 days.' I then put the phone down and walked in... She didn't know whether to hug me or hit me. But I'm very glad to have that over with.

My concluding piece of advise for people if you ever deal with the police in general is to be more aware about what you say and do. Ask for a lawyer straight away or fine (bribe) but say fine, do not say bribe and you cannot go wrong.

I will most likely go back to thailand, despite this ordeal and what my family think about me doing that. But I will not live with any druggos and I'll know to never let the police in and always ask for a lawyer or a fine.

I hope you enjoyed the story and that if anyone gets in these situations they now have some first hand experience for advice, but if anyone posts any captain hindsight type advice they need to **** off.
