As head of the online stable of BRS, what do you have to stay about this?

Kinda difficult for me to comment being so financially tied to the company and still will be for the time being. I'm happy to chat to people about it though if they contact me privately.

So this year has probably been my best poker year of my life.

Took over the BRS cash stable which proceeded to never have a losing month... huge shout out to all the guys and their hard work.

I just got back from playing some high stakes live, which went v well

While I was playing live though BRS got shut down, mainly due to all the heat form the 'shady party poker dealings' thread. It was unfortunate that it ended, but I would have left regardless as I felt like the deal I had with them for running the stable wasn't really worth my time anymore.

I'm back in my house in Pattaya now - honestly kinda bored, I think I'm actually outgrowing the dejen thing! Wow, never thought I'd say that!

Was planning what to do next... Decided to actually go home for xmas - treating myself to a first class flight - I've never even done business class before so I'm pretty excited about it!

I finish in Pattaya 30th Nov, so no doubt will have a big few nights here to say goodbye.

Been back on stars recently as BRS has finished - Plan to try a lot more 500z and see what happens. So far stars is being nice to me:

Fwiw imo stars is a lot easier than party, there are some much better regs on stars, but there's also a bunch of bad ones and plenty of fish, whereas party is mainly bad regs and no fish and probs bots.

Got back to Thailand and decided to book a last minute trip to Sydney with my brother and we flew our mom over as a xmas present.

Played a few of the WSOP-C events, the tag team event in particular was really fun. I played in the same team as my mom, you each play a 20 minute level and there's a lot of pressure on you to not make a mistake or blow up! Something I am very prone to doing.

I was in a really weird situation near the bubble, 27 left with 24 paid, and my mom is broke so a min cash would be great for her, I have about 8bbs and there's no hand for hand so obvs I need to timebank - People are started to get pissed off with me, if it was just for me I think I would have just slowed down play but nothing too embarrassing, but this was for my mom! You've gotta just take the tank the furthest you can!

We finally get to H4H and I ended up being the guy all in on the bubble everyone is routing to bust given their fond memories of me tanking, but I spiked my set TT into KK.

We make the money, my mom takes over and proceeds to go on a heater. We get down to the final table and eventually we are 3 handed with about 7bbs, the other stacks are 12bbs and 14bbs.

Payouts are 1. $26k, 2. $15k, 3. $10k and of course the gold rings for the winners.

We are pretty resigned to comign 3rd which we are pretty happy with given how we scrapped our way there. Then out of nowhere they offer deal, I'm trying to figure out ICM so I can try ask for more, but they offer an even chop and play on for the rings! Snap took the deal and got a nice $16k -

It was pretty epic being able to give my mom half as part of her xmas present was the tourney buy in as she wouldn't have played otherwise so given her that money was an awesome feeling

Then it was time for the long journey home, which I had indeed treated myself to first class

This was an amazing flight and experience, not sure I'll do it very often but fingers crossed this year goes well.

So finished off the year nicely - Will make a 2019 post shortly

2019 plans and goals

Heading to Macau for 2 months mid Jan - mid March planning to win all the money and try to go to the gym a lot - might stay an extra month.

12th April onwards planning to go travel for a long time, with blocks of playing poker in between.

Starting with Thailand for Songkran and full party on samui and Phangan

Then heading to Cambodia for a few weeks to grind a bit of live for fun and online - found a pretty good Airbnb, 3 double bedrooms, security downstairs and a gym for $30 a night, between us!

After that a few of us might be heading to vegas to do a full series, I'm not that fussed about that so will probably go have a look around the Philippines and Bali etc.

Might meet up with everyone to play the Main event start of July.

following that heading to South America, not fully planned out, but plan to live and travel around for at least 3 months.

After that gonna head back to the states, - ws planning to rent a campervan and travel for a few months coast to coast, but it is very expensive.

That should time quite well to go to the Aussie millions 2020.

After that it will depend how broke I am what I do next - Maybe grind online somewhere cheap or keep travelling or play live etc.

Gonna try my best stay in some kind of shape doing it.

I've also taken on 2 guys I'll be staking/CFp'ing on stars to see how that goes, so hopefully if that goes well I'll do more of those

I'm really tempted start a vlog - more just to force myself to do more interesting things and have something to look back on when I'm inevitably broke in a few years time.

Do you have enough savings? Are you a proven winner at the limits/stakes you wish to play? What are your long term goals/plans?

You don't need to answer, is just things you should ask yourself when deciding to make the move or not. I don't think we should tell you if it's a good idea for YOU to move to Thailand or not, that's something only you can know.

Well without jumping into the bankroll and poker skill you need etc to do.

Thailand specifically is a great place to grind - you can play on stars and other sites, its warm and cheap. But bear in mind it is illegal to gamble in thailand - you should make sure you only do it in the privacy of your own condo.

Living in Thailand also has its challenges, anyone that enters will only get 30 days on arrival, you can extend this for 30 days more at a cost and i suggest you try to find an agent to do this for you as its is a fairly arduous bureaucratic process you will spend an entire day doing that you potentially waste if you didn't quite do the form to their liking. After your 60 days is up you will have to leave the country to reset your visa. This can be annoying but there are plenty of cheap places you can hop to, such as malaysia or Cambodia - my favourite place to do a via run is Phnom Penh - this sounds like fun at first but after a few times you will end up finding these annoying. Even more so if you live further from Bangkok as to leave the country you will need to go to Bangkok as far as I'm aware.

Getting a condo is pretty easy in Thailand, but there can be a bit special to negotiate a price with - They really don't like accepted condo leases for under 1 year, you can get them for 6 months usually but some won't do this and for 6 months you will pay a higher rent amount. But it is easy enough to find a condo and move in the same day - I would book an airbnb or hotel and spend a few days looking around.

Phuket itself I have gone off massively - i find it quite hustly and a very money grabbing place - that combines with the extra flight for the visa run would put me off living there and if i really wanted to go i would just visit.

Also anywhere other than bangkok can get boring after a while, because once you're done sleeping with the girls you like and going out and drinking and the other odd few things to do you will get bored, whereas bangkok always has something you haven't done before.

But Thailand is great, I wish it was easier to stay there for longer periods of time - the next up and coming place to grind from will for sure be Phnom Penh - especially as gambling is legal there.

You don't have to fly back to Bangkok to leave the country to get a new Visa, I don't know where you get this idea from.

Hey Richard, awesome blog.

Can you get by in thailand just speaking english?

By "get by" I mean
- Renting/negotiating a place
- Doing visa paperwork
- Talking to local women

So err - back in Pattaya now. I got this Milf to come over as she agreed to lick my ass

Turns out when she got here she has a stammer or stutter, which is pretty difficult combined with the language barrier.

So I thought it would be funny to get her to say a phrase with her tongue sticking out whilst she was doing you know.

Turns out squirrel (which she couldn't say) is an amazing word
