Got back to Thailand and decided to book a last minute trip to Sydney with my brother and we flew our mom over as a xmas present.
Played a few of the WSOP-C events, the tag team event in particular was really fun. I played in the same team as my mom, you each play a 20 minute level and there's a lot of pressure on you to not make a mistake or blow up! Something I am very prone to doing.
I was in a really weird situation near the bubble, 27 left with 24 paid, and my mom is broke so a min cash would be great for her, I have about 8bbs and there's no hand for hand so obvs I need to timebank - People are started to get pissed off with me, if it was just for me I think I would have just slowed down play but nothing too embarrassing, but this was for my mom! You've gotta just take the tank the furthest you can!
We finally get to H4H and I ended up being the guy all in on the bubble everyone is routing to bust given their fond memories of me tanking, but I spiked my set TT into KK.
We make the money, my mom takes over and proceeds to go on a heater. We get down to the final table and eventually we are 3 handed with about 7bbs, the other stacks are 12bbs and 14bbs.
Payouts are 1. $26k, 2. $15k, 3. $10k and of course the gold rings for the winners.
We are pretty resigned to comign 3rd which we are pretty happy with given how we scrapped our way there. Then out of nowhere they offer deal, I'm trying to figure out ICM so I can try ask for more, but they offer an even chop and play on for the rings! Snap took the deal and got a nice $16k -
It was pretty epic being able to give my mom half as part of her xmas present was the tourney buy in as she wouldn't have played otherwise so given her that money was an awesome feeling
Then it was time for the long journey home, which I had indeed treated myself to first class

This was an amazing flight and experience, not sure I'll do it very often but fingers crossed this year goes well.
So finished off the year nicely - Will make a 2019 post shortly
