A small intro:
I'm 22 years old, and currently a software engineering student.
One more semester to go and I'll be out of this misery
(for now).
I had a couple of PG&C threads in here before, none of which actually got anywhere but I'm hoping that'll change
.
I started playing poker as a teenager, about 7-8 years ago for fun. 4 years ago I actually made my first deposit of 100$ on pokerstars, hoping for a nice grind for the first time.
Well, unfortunately it didn't go as planned. However, the most I got out of that experience, was being a winner at 10nl zoom. Until I pretty much messed everything up (including my confidence) at 25nl.
I had a couple of staking deals, also did not go as planned. And finally stopped playing poker about 2 and a half years ago.
I kept playing once every couple of months just for the sake of having a bit of fun, until pokerstars decided to exclude Israel. And that was pretty much the end of it.
I've been working as a waiter (on and off) in a lot of different places the past 5-6 years, just so I can have my own pocket money. And I started my studies as a software engineering student 2 years ago (currently doing a diploma not a degree), which I'm pretty excited about because of the massive range of job opportunities in this field (in and out of the country).
My poker background:
- A graph in 10nl zoom from about 2 and a half years ago.
After that I really just hit a brick, I have experience of beating 10nl zoom, but nothing further.
My current poker status:
- Starting from scratch with 2nl and 4nl
My goals for 2017:
I made a very small deposit (due to not having a direct way to deposit from Israel on poker sites) on a microgaming poker skin.
- Finish my practical software engineering diploma with 80+ average.
- Play/study poker in alongside my college priorities.
- Climb the stakes as fast as possible (with proper BRM).
- Finish the year as a potential 50nl winning reg.
Since there's no 25nl on microgaming skins, my minimum goal is to at least finish the year winning at 20nl.
Note: I will only be playing regular tables, as I believe table-selecting and the higher WR just can't be ignored.
Good luck everyone and happy grinding!
