Satelliting in is probably the way to go if you'd like to play more of them.
They have reduced the guaranteed prizes in the network I usually play tournaments (eg: €2.500 GTD is now €1.500). But this big tourney still has €10.000GTD pool.

I figured, if I can ship a satellite 1 times out of 2, and win 1 tourney out of 10, I make €2.500 1 out of 20 times. That'd be a net gain of:
€2.500 - (33€*20) = +€1.840
If I win once out of 40 it still becomes +€1.180
I'll still have +200 even if I only win 1 out of 70 (though it won't be worth the time I spent on it).
This doesn't count the rakeback and other cashes I may make, and I think, I definitely can have a better win rate than 1 out of 30 at this level.

So, I'm seriously considering to give it a shot

I don't have any experience on MPN and haven't played in some time so this comes with a grain of salt.

I think most of your assumptions are optimistic at best.
Not sure on the satellite structure but a win rate/conversion rate of 50% seems high.

Again no knowledge of field size or structure of the actual MTT but those are some pretty outlandish ROI's you've calculated (specially the 1/10 and 1/20).
I've a feeling the fields are soft enough but they're still online mid stake MTT's.

Idk, just my two cents.

Proceed to prove me wrong again haha

Hehehe
The satellite has 8 seats GTD, usually with a field of 45 it gets 10 seats GTD. If I late reg with a rebuy and and add-on, I might be able to fight a field of 30 for the top 10 place, hence the high ROI calculation.

Well, we shall see how I do at the main tournament in a few tries. Downside is, this satellite is once a week.

Oh, and additionally, my min cash in the last tournament allowed me to have a head start with 8 full satellite buy-ins already

Aaaaand lol! The satellite was cancelled as it didn't get enough registrants

Show a net profit of €1.500 in online tournaments.

When?
Starting on 17th of January, until 17th of April 2017.

Why?
If I can do this, and somehow also win some $$$ at the live tournament, I can have more of my wife's blessing for my poker endeavour, which helps my mental game too
I almost forgot about this side quest.

1. I made the profit.
2. I took them to Malta.
3. Binked a live tournament there.
4. My wife confessed to me today that she now believes that poker rewards people with "poker skills" (eg: maths, ev calculations, etc). Yet, somehow she still believes that luck has more to do about winning the game.

I MADE IT!

Think you mentioned earlier that you like to play only 1 or 2 tables? Could you give any thoughts on this please/how you manage to stay focussed?

Thanx!

I enjoy playing poker and I enjoy watching others playing poker too -especially if I am learning new stuff. So I watch the game as if I'm railing a tournament when I'm not in a hand. But this time I take notes on my opponents. And those notes are better than the notes I take when they make a play with me, because this time they are objective.

On the other hand, sometimes I have too much in my mind and act kind of reckless. At those times, I do a hand history review, watch or read about poker strategy. This helps me stay calm and play an ABC game even if that's not optimal.

I use PS to play cash only and I do it sporadically.

For WPN, somehow my stars did not align with them.
I got my good hands crushed by 2-3 outers on the river a few hundred times too many So I stopped playing there -at least for the while.

Another downside for WPN for me was the gigantic late registration periods of 5 hours on average!

First final table after that live tournament win and ~40 tournaments.
Gee, those live opponents did jinx me bad
Still, I might have broken the horne of that devil...

Yes Sir, I do.
I use Holdem Manager 2.

Let me go one step furher, the stats I use in the HUD are:

Name/Total Hands
VPIP/PFR/Steal/FTS%
Flop c-bet/Turn c-bet/Flop fold to c-bet/Turn fold to c-bet
3-bet/Fold to 3-bet/4-bet/Overall Check-Raise
Flop donk bet/Fold to flop donk bet/Turn bet vs missed c-bet/River AF
M/WTSD/W$SD

I also started to look at the RFI stats in the pop-up.

@Valent1n:
I'm a corporate executive -or monkey

Tonight I registered at the last minute of late registration period to a field of 200 people, and managed to finish in #8 spot, losing to a 2 outer which turned a set vs my two pair. Ended up shipping 138 home.

Gonna rise up again from this swing. This win got my confidence back up at least...

Not my best final play but still it's a score.
Was dominated in all 3 of my all-ins at the final table to take home €50.

Hey guys!

I've prepared a 15 minute video on what to consider when we are about to call an all-in, and how to calculate our equity with a calculator and PokerStove.

It has subtitles in English and the language is in Turkish.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers!

I'm going through a down swing this month in online games.
I'm the only one to blame, still I'm getting some wins coming my way too.

Another mediocre result at the end of this month, yet it is still a win.
Gotta get used to the lengthier tournaments at this network, then I will definitely rule here

[X] Read Alexander Fitzgerald's - The Myth of Poker Talent Book
* Definitely a must read for anyone taking poker seriously.

Personal Life Goals:
[ ] Lose 5 more kilograms -take 3!
* I haven't done anything to lose weight

Taking Shots:
[X] Play some live cash game sessions and show a profit
[X] Go for the €22 tournament if you are showing a profit of over €500 this month

Ready to roll!

Profitwise, this was the worst month for me in online games, having ~-€1.650 loss. But I made it up with my live tournament and cash wins.

The online downswing was because of me. I did lose many race situations, but I ended up getting into unnecessarily many races. That's because of rushing things. I wasn't lucky but I didn't play good either.

June 2017 Goals:

*** Monthly Mission ***:
[ ] Find a fold! Monthly VPIP% < 30.
I've noticed that I'm too eager to play poker and play more hands than necessary, causing me to move from a LAG style to a fishy one. Therefore I'm now aiming to not play hands, and find a reason to fold preflop for the hands I'm dealt.
Scott Clement's main strategy is to "wait there and let someone hand him their chips", so I'll be following it this month.
Lucky for me, the site I'm currently playing in has a slower blind structure, which will allow me to hang around and wait for the monkeys to hand me the bananas, instead of me handing them my balls.

Training:
[ ] Log in 60 hours of poker training this month (reading books, articles, watching videos, hand history reviews, reading previously taken notes, listening to podcasts)
[ ] Read Excelling at NLHE Book

Personal Life Goals:
[ ] Lose 5 more kilograms -take 4!

Taking Shots:
[ ] Enter some of the weekend bigs, if you are showing a profit of over €500 this month.

Allrighty, let's start this month with a €125 win!
I've played at this tournament with 25/18 stats.
Had my aces cracked by tens on the final, so no problem, good game there.

Damn, if I walked the streets for 6,5 hours, I bet I could find more money lying on the ground.

Weird tournament structures and time zone differences, story of my poker life :/
