However I've never really had any targets as such & hence never built up a separate bankroll but blew most of my winnings in other endeavours!
Current reality - Due to various circumstances - I’m at a stage of life now where I want to finally get “serious” about poker & adopt some goal-setting strategies.
My goal for the next 1 year - to put it simply is - to win on an average $1000 per day/$5000 per week/$20,000 per month playing hold-em mid-high stakes cash games online (PLO is just too swingy).
I plan to 2 table at the start & can put in 4 hours per day - so 20-25 hours per week.
My questions are -
1. Assuming I am able to raise the money - whats the ideal bank-roll to go after such a monthly target?
2. What stakes should I be playing to feasibly go after these targets?
3. What win-rate should I expect?
Any advice/suggestions no matter how honest will be highly appreciated.
This ain't 2005 brother.
You can't expect these cash goals online and/or to start at mid-stakes and win right off the bat with this background. You should start at NL25-50 and see how you're doing then move up just a little more aggressively since you are rolled enough for the higher stakes.
I'm mainly in a similar spot as you and that's mostly what I've been doing after starting at NL10z like 6 months ago with weak volume and low level of study, went aggressively on the brm while moving up stakes and now I'm shooting at NL100z and I'm going to put great volume to end the year at 200z or 500z hopefully. You'll need patience to reach these goals and win at highstakes.
