Re: Talking my shot at becoming a live pro.

Ended up about $265 in that 2/5 lineup of crushers (two players in the game are big winners in the 10/20 game and there were other good pros) then went to go play some 1/3 which didn’t end well.

Played an interesting hand against Mr overbet jam himself yesterday in that game. Guy plays poker full time but plays a very unorthodox style. Will overbet jam a lot of combo draws or even as wide as a gutter and a backdoor. I heard about one hand from a friend where he flatted out of the blinds, flop went like 5 ways and he open ripped it for like 3.5x pot on Q98 two hearts with AT with the ace of hearts.

1/3 $404 effective. Limps around. Mr overbet is otb and limps. I check 65 no heart in the bb.

Pot:$12

Flop: 653 two hearts.

I lead $20, call, call, button now rips $500. Ewwww. I call off for $380 more. One of the other guys who flatted calls off.

Overbet jammer has 24hh, flatter rec had 78 no heart. I don’t boat up.

I ran it through poker cruncher and I think I basically have the right price to call against his range there but it’s close.

Finished down $280 yesterday but I’m still off to a super hot start in July.

Would snap fold 2p. While he has OB based on description he’s a reg. You OB almost 2x pot on a board where you have literally 32 combos of straights and he’s goin all in against an extremely strong range that is uncapped on this texture

Re: Talking my shot at becoming a live pro.

Yea as a general policy I 100% agree. I think if you had played with him as much as I have you might still fold, but you would probably think it’s closer than you do without that experience.

Played an interesting hand today, it’s possible I got every street right or wrong post flop. It’s not a spot I have a ton of experience with or have studied. This is also another live poker feel spot as I have a lot of experience with BB and CO was recently very tilted.

I open 89hh LJ to $20, CO, who is probably still on tilt, calls, bad rec calls BB.

Flop 457 all hearts

Pot: $55

X, H $45 call, BB $100, H? Call call.

Pot: $355

Turn Qx.

X, H$175, call call.

Ok so turn sizing is obviously kinda small. BB reached for chips before checking which is a super huge weakness tell and I think CO can be floating crazy wide.

Pot:$705.

River 5x.

So it’s 457hhh-Qx-5x.

X H? Do I bet or let tilted guy bluff? Tilted guy has been making way more bluffing mistakes than calling down light mistakes but I also have Bb to consider still.

I opt to check. Tilted guy bets $350, BB fold, I toss in the call and my hand is good. I saw he had the Ac in his hand but didn’t make him table it.

So happy that it’s friday. Nice change of pace to go from lineups full of 5/10 and 10/20 crushers earlier this week to games where people try to give it away. There are still some great pros in the games this Friday, certainly more than the average 2/5 game, but there are at least some spots.

Re: Talking my shot at becoming a live pro.

Damn, other than that flush everything that could go wrong did for the last two days and finished down $1800 for the weekend.

Played 3 hours of 2/5/10 today and lost $1830

JJ v JT in a 3 bet pot on TT3 two spades vs a maniac. He opened to $60, I $180 he called. I $200 into $370 flop and he rips $900.

JJ v TT on 245-T vs maniac and pro. Got away from it on turn. The way it played out was weird but felt good about the fold.

KQ v KT on T33-5-K (double barreled to get to river Sb v BB. Bet/folded river vs a face up rec.

Bricked a ton of other hands and couldn’t get any value from the one time I made the best hand.

I maybe didn’t have to call of with the JJ vs the JT but it’s close. The guy had just ripped 2k on a one liner to a straight board as a bluff, played a couple of hands blind, and was in a gambly/spewy mood.

Re: Talking my shot at becoming a live pro.

While it was good to review the hand, Iím pretty sure Iím being results oriented and the call off with JJ is good. Iím not exploit folding there to that guy when heís in that mood and loves to try to out play me. If he shows up with K4ss or AK with a spade, which is entirely possible, I donít second guess the call.
