Hey there,

Let me introduce myself and my poker history. I'm a 23 year old Belgian dude who's been playing poker since i'm about 16-17. I've been playing on/off online and live since then. Probably played around 100-200 hours live and about 2 million hands online in those 6 years.

I'm one of those break-even noobs online that likes to play SnG's and Tourneys mainly and then donk off profits with terrible bankroll management and playing HU Hyper turbo's.

In terms of live play, i have not kept track of all my wins/losses but i'm pretty sure im up around 1k$. This was acheived mostly playing live tourneys in England, where i went to University, (yes i graduated wooooh) but i've also played live in Belgium, Germany and Australia.

When i was studying at uni, i played poker as a way to relax, so i never really studied it much, just played it and watched a few poker videos on the side.

For the last 2 months, i've been working as in intern in a small firm in Canada, in the same city that my brother happens to live, so i've not been paying rent

I'm now done with my internship and i've got about 3 weeks give or take left here in Canada. So what do i decide to do --> Go to the casino with $100 bucks and play 1/2 NLH.

So coming in with $100 (the minimum) i'm not expecting to make a killing. I'm prepared to wait for spots as my previous experience with these stakes is people bullying/being really aggressive with short stacks.

However, i'm able to steal a few pots with PFR and C-bets to get my stack to 230$

Then i wake up with KK in MP. Folds to me and i make it $8. Young asian dude on my left 3-bets it to $25, asian girl in LP calls. I 4-bet to 55 and both call.

Flop (165) - T97r - I bet $100, both tank and end up calling,

Turn (465) - Q - At this point, i've got $75 behind, unlikely that my opponents have T8 or KJ as it was a 4bet pot. The only cards i'm worried about are TT or QQ and when they both call my turn all-in, i'm shaking my head.

River (690) - 4 - Blank - The asian girl has like 40 behind so shoves, the other guy calls. He has A9 and she has JJ. I ship the $700 pot.

I leave the table 1 hour later with $650

So i didn't really expect to win so much, especially from a $100 buyin...

Now i'm gonna go for it, i know i'm underolled going ahead with this, but i don't really have that much to lose, not paying rent, on holidays, so let's have some fun xD!

There we go, more posts to come!

I feel like I could make a $650 roll work at 1/2 and if I can do it, you can do it. Good luck OP!

Lost another bullet, no really interesting hands, i think i played ok...

Here's my bust hand:

Started the hand with about $90. Fish guy with his gf watching behind him makes it $10 UTG+1. I've seen him do this with hands like AT and JT, so his range is quite wide.

folds around to me in LP, i call with KQo

Flop (23) - K94 all spades - he bets $10, i call

Turn (43) - 2c - he bets $25 - I thought he could easily have an AsX hand that i would be beating and maybe a pair with a spade in it. i decide to call and fold to any river spade

River (93) - 7h - He shoves - At this point i've only got around $50 behind, he seems like the sort of player who would bluff-shove a missed draw, so i called and he shows JQ of spades for the flopped flush..

Is it possible to fold the river here? I don't see myself folding in any other spot against this guy...

So here we go another $100 down the drain - only took about 45 mins

Total profit: $255

Profit per hour: $60

With your limited bankroll, you really need to pick your spots better even if that means passing up on +EV spots that are potentially high variance. As such, I'm folding KQoff pre here. Turn is a fold regardless. Ditto on river...you are getting good pot odds but this is rarely a bluff.

In general given your limited bankroll and the fact that you are short stacking the best way you can grow your bankroll is by playing tight but very aggressive. That doesn't mean bluff. It just means that you should be the aggressor when you have the goods. You should keep these passive lines to a minimum.
