Bills -1 vs Jets

Rex gave a speech about how his job is over if they lose this game. He's a player's coach and he and his team hate the Jets.

Cincinnati +7 vs Houston

Cincinnati have played Houston very close over the past 4 years. They are getting 7 here at home and are a huge public underdog. This is a huge game for Houston.

This past weekend did not go too bad. I ended up clearing €90 in bonuses in poker although I didn't make any profit. I have now moved my bankroll over to Coral Poker. I am still on the Ipoker network which isn't great, but I do receive about 70% in effective rakeback. I played about 2 hours yesterday and made a small profit. My goal to hit before the end of September is to get my BR to €500. That means I need to make around €27 a day. I'm back to school this week so we'll see how things go.

NFL ATS: 6-7

NCAAF ATS: 7-4

Sports went alright over the weekend. Slowly, but surely this roll will get going.

Leans-

Patriots (Belichick System)
Jaguars (Fade Ravens)
Dolphins (So the Dolphins are -4 in Cleveland off 2 losses?)
Bengals (Better team)
Jets (Chiefs have looked very bad)
Colts (No Woodhead going against Luck who needs a W)
Steelers (Wentz had it pretty easy against a Browns D and a Bears D. Time to play one of the best teams in football)
Saints (Saints really need this win because they have some tough matchups coming up)
Seahawks (Seahawks were -10 against he Dolphins. Seahawks -4 in San Fran?)
Ole Miss (Should have beat FSU and Alabama on road...now they play at home)

Pretty much a breakeven day pokerwise although it could have been much better. Two major coolers. First one I have 7h7c and the fish behind 3bets 4x pot, I call oop and the flop comes Ks7sTs. He bets 2x the pot and I raise all in, and he calls with 4d4c and the board runs out with spade-spade so we chop. Another hand MP opens, BU flats and I flat with A7s oop. The flop comes KsQsJs. He bets I call and the turn is the 9s. He bets I jam and he calls with the 10 of spades. So unlucky. You could argue that I should raise the flop, but if he just has a draw or one pair hand he's unlikely to continue. Also, if a spade does come on a later street he still might call at least one street with say the 9s or 8s. Also, if another spade had hit besides the 9s I don't think he's folding that hand to any of my bets really unless he's a nit.

So far I've taken a few bets for the upcoming week.

The poker BR might be a little lower than when I started, but that number is without the rakeback I have generated in which I am well into profits. I'm running about 2BI below EV however, but oh well. 11 hours over 4 days isn't too bad, but I need to be doing more.

I also added a teaser:

In my opinion mpn is a little softer. Another thing is that ipoker has become a ghostown at NL20 lately. I bet at william hill and bet3000 (german bookie).

I will grind NL20 for the rest of the month on ipoker and then switch to mpn and maybe to another smaller site - don´t know which right now.

So I started playing some 6+ poker which means all numbered cards under 6 are taken out of the deck and it has slightly different rules. Anyway, I started playing it because the games seem very fishy. I ended up going on a 4BI downswing I would assume due to mainly variance, as it is a very swingy game. Anyway, I've decided I will no longer play it as it is 1) wayyy too high variance and 2) Will not help me get better at my Texas Holdem poker game. The good news is that essentially I am breakeven at the moment after I factor in the rakeback I will be receiving at the end of the month. I'm going to try and mainly be a rakeback grinder at 10NL and work my way up thru there. Ipoker just has way too many nits and possibly bots that I think rakeback grinding with about 70% is the way to go.

I added a few plays for today.

Sorry guys long time no update here...

So I am finally on my own! I quit Coaching for profits from bestpokercoaching.com and although they do teach all of the beginner material very well I don't think anything higher is of much use. I had a huge issue with them when I was quitting. They would not allow me to transfer my affiliate to their partners and instead the CFP program wanted to keep me as their own even though they don't offer any promotions to non-members of their CFP program. So basically I would receive nothing and they would get a percentage of my rake from the poker site. Instead I decided to close my account and I will be signing up again with a different affiliate (there are some sneaky ways to do this, pm if you need advice). So over the past week or so I've mainly been playing on Coral Poker (iPoker) and it's been alright. I've been running about 5BI's below EV, however I was basically receiving 70% RB. So after it was all said and done I basically broke even at 10NL at Coral Poker. Although the RB is very nice, there were a few problems. 1) The software is terrible and if you click on the fold button as a pre-action, it doesn't always work 2) There weren't always enough games running 3) The amount of reg/nitty players were insane 4) there are many rumours of colluding/bots 5) The rake is insanely high, about 13bb/100 at 10NL 6) I'm connected to my CFP program as my affiliate and f*ck them.

Anyway, for those who do not know, Partypoker/Bwin are doing the "Gladiator" promotion in which you can essentially receive up to 70% RB over the month of October. I've decided to take my funds over to partypoker where I am also receiving an additional $200 bonus. I will be able to play some Fast Forward hands which are much more fun and more flexible. I had originally planned on taking my funds to Microgaming where I get 20% bonuses/reloads + 30% VIP + Rake races, but I just think this promotion from Partypoker is too good to pass up. So I'll play it for this month and see how much I can make. I'm going to be starting out playing some 25NL has I now have the bankroll for it. This could go either really well or very bad fast and I could be back down to 5-10NL soon. I'm not trying to be stupid, but I do want to be aggressive. With the rakeback + bonuses I am receiving I think I can afford it. I set some very high goals in this thread and I fully intend to reach them.

I have also looked into a coach. If any of you guys watch Twitch Poker this guy is "PokerwithRiske" and he plays 100NL zoom on Pokerstars winning at about 5bb/100. I've talked with him for a bit and we are going to do some coaching sessions together. Once I get a decent hand sample at Partypoker 25NL Fast Forward we'll get our first session in.

This weekend went alright, I think I made around 2 units. I'm going to be changing my sports strategy and only play the games I really like. The Steelers were a very big game for me over the weekend. I really like the Vikings tonight and if I do play them I will post a write-up.

So Poker went alright yesterday. I lost about 1.5BI's, but it was my first time playing 25NL Fast Forward and I think I held tough. One memorable hand was I open CO with 44 and the BB calls. Flop is 77J, he leads and I call. Turn is a 4. He checks, I bet and he raises me, I raise all in and the turn is a T. He shows T7. Let's just say I was definitely thrown into the deep end after losing a BI in the first 5 minutes.

I also miscalculated the rakeback percentage. It will be more like 50% over the month of October which is very good for Fast Forward hands.

Tonight I am thinking about backing the Orioles, but we'll see.

Alright so time for the daily update.

So Partypoker has been going alright. After watching some videos and reading some poker material as well as just experiencing 25NL for the first time I definitely see improvement in my game after 3k hands. I am down a little over 3 BI's since starting, but that is not too big of an issue. My last 2 sessions at 25NL have been positive and I really am expanding my game. Unfortunately I think I will be changing sites back to Coral Poker for the time being. Partypoker have some of the worst rakeback rewards imaginable and if I really wanted to take advantage of this current promotion I would need to be playing 4 tables of 25NL 5 hours every day to make €1000 rakeback, which is just not possible at this time. Over at Ipoker I bascially received 90% rakeback, which is just too good to pass up. I only have one more month of it until my First Deposit Bonus expires, unless I complete it before then. I basically average about €1.30/100 at 10NL, so I am going to estimate about €2.5/100 at 20NL. If I can 4 table this that brings me to an hourly of about ~€10/h and if I can 6 table that's ~€15/h, 8 table ~€20/h and 10 table €25/h. This would definitely be pretty good money for a student if I can achieve it. Again one of my main goals was to be able to make enough playing to quit my part time jobs. I've got one more job I need to quit and if I can make at least €10/hour I'll be golden. This is all considering I play Breakeven poker which I really hope I'm better than that.

I'll probably play a few hands tonight so I can have an update for tomorrow.

If your going to play on ipoker again I really would suggest to play Speed Poker. At least for bonus/rakeback grinding this should be your option. You can easily achieve 750 hands/hour just 3 tabling which isn't too hard.

Rich- Hey great advice! I started playing 20NL speed and it's been going well so far. The only problem is that my HUD doesn't work on it at the moment.

Avizura- Hey man thanks! I was able to get a discount and payed €350. (Just tell them you cannot pay the full deposit, but you are very excited and motivated and will be playing a ton of hands/hours a month and they should give you a discount) When I joined BPC I was just starting out in poker really, and it helped immensely for microstakes from 2NL-10NLish. At 10NL you need to meet certain requirements to move up to the intermediate group. I decided not to do that and I instead quit. This is because at 10NL-higher you can definitely make at least €1000 monthly and I would rather invest that in a personal coach who I know if currently playing and beating 100NL zoom (the game I prefer) handily. I have nothing against their products for microstakes, just only sign up for 1 or 2 sites you are going to play with them thru them. Good luck!

Time for another update boyos

So I started playing some Coral zoom at 20NL and over the 2k sample I currently am up just under 3BI's and I have an EV of 11bb/100. Now I am running pretty hot and it's a small sample, so we'll see how everything goes. With RB included I'm up just under 4BI's. So I do need to play more. I'm only 2 tabling at the moment, but my average € hourly is around €4. I'd like to 3-4 table, but I need to get used to handling that and not having as much time for decisions. One problem I'm really having with Coral that I think is impacting my play a bit is not having a HUD. For some reason the PT4 HUD does not work on the Ipoker speed tables for this current Coral poker version. It's tough to deal with 3betting when there is no HUD to help out.

I have a few games ready to go for today. Each to win €20.

Sorry guys long time no update

I know I have not been updating the thread too much. I took out some funds to pay/buy a few things. Anyway, my funds have kind of been all over the place and I could have updated, but it would have been messy. I was constantly withdrawing/depositing every few days as I wanted to use the funds for certain items and I kept moving money around poker sites. It has been a pretty decent month. I played 1 tournament and cashed for 3rd, I also made a good amount playing some 10NL-20NL. My goal for this month now is to play some 50NL.

So what now?

Poker

Taking money out definitely hindered my progress to reach my goal. That is fine, I used some money to pay rent/loan to people close to me/and buy the sickest overcoat ever (Boss Status). Therefore, I have about €350 in credit I will be allowed to play with. Playing on credit will definitely make this thread interesting lol. I am about 10 hours of play away from a €150 cash bonus which will boost my roll to around €500. At the moment, the 20NL games are my bread and butter games. Over this past month I had a 8bb/100 winrate and an 11EVbb/100 winrate. These are games I have no problem beating. Yes variance can take its toll, but these are games I feel very confident in and I don't think variance will impact me too much as if I played in harder games. Therefore, any amount over €400 can be used for higher stakes. I'll be shot taking 50NL aggressively and I think I can handle my own with table selection. Once I get this cash bonus I'll be able to shot take, so we're almost there. Now I am hoping over this month to transition to 20NL fast fold games. These games would yield a much higher € hourly return. I am a bit worse in these games and they are higher variance so I won't touch them until I can increase my bankroll a bit. I have a pretty insane RB deal, although there are a lot of nitty regs on the site.

I've been reading a lot of poker books and watching videos so my play has definitely improved. A lot of poker definitely seems to come down to the mental side of things. As I increase my bankroll I'll allocate resources towards coaching/learning products.

The goal for poker is to make €1,000 this month. From there my goal will be to make €2,000 in December, so €3,000 before the end of the year is the target. At that point I'll be able to play 100NL and starting making some cash.

Sports

As far as sports go I will be starting with a $97 bankroll. I only have betpoints at the moment, but I can purchase sportsbook cash so every 15 points=$1 for me. I'll calculate everything that way. I've got a few system plays in place whenever they may come up so I am confident I'll turn this into $500 soon enough.

The goal for sports is to have a BR of $500 my the end of the year.

I will begin posting hands and write-ups for games in this thread. Feel free to comment and post your picks/hands/progressions/thoughts as well.

So guys I've only played about 30 minutes of some 10NL and I ran at about 13bb/100. Not bad not bad. I've got a big exam tomorrow morning so I don't know if I will be touching any poker until it's finished. But the grind will officially start tomorrow with some 20NL. I'll be posting some hands in this thread and graphs as well. I think the best way to track myself is to just keep track of the profits I'm making from poker instead of adding my "bankroll" as well. I use work money/credit/etc. to play games some time so it would be tough to keep track, plus I enjoy adding funds to my bankroll for a short time in order to take shots and then withdraw those back.

Tonight we get started with some sports!

Indians +107

It's tough for teams to comeback and win three games in a row. Especially without home field advantage for the last game. Kluber is the ACE and their bullpen should be ready to go. I don't think Chapman should have played yesterday, and Hendricks is better at home than away. The home team in the world series has an insane win percentage going back twenty or so years. I'm from Chicago so I will root for the Cubs, but I think the value is on Cleveland tonight.

Celtics -2.5

The Celtics lost to the Bulls earlier this season and now have a good few days off to rest. I think the Bulls are highly overrated and the Celtics are the better team.

Mavericks +4

The Jazz are on a B2B of a 3 games in 4 days after coming off a huge very unlikely win against the Spurs. The Mavs are rested and are looking for their first win of the season.

Poker Profit: €25

Well guys poker has gone alright. I'm up around €25 just playing today. I'll upload a graph probably tomorrow or else within the next few days. I'm running at about 8bb/100 (3evbb/100) right now. The goal is to make at least €200 each week and then invest €60 into coaching. I've got a poker coach lined up who beats 100NL zoom for 5bb/100 4 tabling. I've been listening and reading a lot about becoming your own boss and making it big. If you want to get somewhere, you'll get there 10x faster if you find someone to show you how. Most of us are too lazy or not willing enough to find that mentor. I know it's only poker, but this works for all aspects of life. Anyway, if I make €1000 this month in poker, €320 will be taken out for one coaching session a week.

The dream is real here guys, I'm doing everything I can to make it. Follow along if you want to join in.

Sports BR: $89.90

I went 2-1 last night. I'm glad the Cubs won though. I'm from the Chi and I've also got a longshot parlay to win 30k that had the cubs as world series winners. Tonight I've got a few games.

Bucs +4

Going back over the past Thursday NFL games the home team/home dog as covered most of them. Falcons had a wild last game and the public is all over them.

Bucs-Falcons Under 50.5

Going over the past TNF games, the games seem to go under most of the time. Let's see how this works out here. Both teams had high scoring games this past week.

Timberwolves -3.5

Better team here with a very good coach. I think the Wolves are a very underrated team.
