All right, so my personal challenge for next week will be:
  • 600 Spin and Gos
  • > 50 average chipEV
  • > 1h / day Twitch stream with status updates (usually from 11 pm CET)
For some people 600 games/week is not a lot, but it's half my usual monthly volume. Should I fail, I'll donate 50 USD to charity. Week start / end is defined as Monday 6 am CET (Pokerstars day start).

So I started the challenge yesterday. Good news and bad news!

Good: Volume. Started with 110 games yesterday. Yay!
Bad: EV. ~30 chipEV - not a good start.

All right, on 2/7 days I played 180 games, but chipEV is 25. Is it the higher volume? Or
just variance? I'll review many hands today and keep on grinding

After day 3/7, 267 games done with 30 chipEV so far. I'm reducing the pace a bit!

Final day today. WIll be close but I'll probably finish 600 games.

Spoiler:
Unfortunately my chipEV totally sucks throughout the whole challenge/week. Probably won't even be close to my usual 50+.

Great that you made your volume goal but do you think you're sacrificing your cEV in return for it? I would aim to improve cEV firstly before increasing tables/games. It may be worth investing in a coach to patch up the leaks

My database says you printed 357 ev chips vs me last week, don't blame me

You're absolutely right that I don't want to do this. I just wanted to see if I'm able to play a bigger volume now. Apparently, I'm not quite ready yet. I still did some studying last week and had coachings including a private one. It's not like I was only grinding.

After a few days break from poker I'm now unfortunately sick, so rather inactive.

But here's still the recap for last month:

November 2017 recap

Graph on 15$ spins:

Time spent:

All right, so for my 600 games in a week challenge, I hit the volume goal but apparently my cEV is really bad when 3-tabling. I'm going back to mostly 2 tables for now unless I feel super fit and confident.

My goals for December are very modest, just 1k games with 50+ chipEV. Due to my "sick leave" at the moment, then christmas and another planned holiday later this month (going to Spain with friends for a week), I'm not gonna be able to focus much more on poker.

Hey guys, I'm back!

I was on two holidays in December + sick for two weeks, so not much poker - hence no detailed report. I had decent chipEV but on less than 400 games. I also had severe problems with my internet connection which should (hopefully) be solved now.

I'm excited to move on to January 2018 - I'll try to play 1.4k games, keep at least 50+ chipEV and study a lot, for a total of ~140h time investment in Spin and Gos.

I'll also resume streaming starting next Monday, if my internet connections stays stable.

Yesterday I finally replaced my almost 7-year-old main PC components with some new stuff. Got myself an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 with 16 GB of fast RAM and a new SSD. I hope the days of tilting lags (especially during streams) are over!

Hardware is working like a charm. But I also upgraded to Windows 10 (finally) and I'm having some trouble setting up everything and activating my (legit) Windows license after the hardware changes. Need to fix this before I stream again - next week I hope.

Hey guys! I had a lot of health issues to sort out, and was also very busy looking for a new job, travelling to interviews etc. This week I got accepted will start a great job in mid-May.

I only played a low poker volume lately due to the circumstances. But now, at least in April, I'll have a lot of time, waiting for the new job to start. After that - we will see.
I'm still in SpinLegends and moved myself back to 7$ spins while not playing regularly - those I can beat rather easily even when a bit rusty . I'm still officially on 15s and will move back up as soon as I get a decent volume going. I'll also stream again in April

April 2018 Recap

April was the first month where I played and streamed 15$ spins consistently again. Not that many games, but I'm happy I got back into the grind.

Graph on 15$ spins:

Time spent:

I'm satisfied with the chipEV. Upswing? Maybe. I hope I can keep that up. I'd love to invest more time overall, but it won't happen any time soon, unfortunately. Tomorrow I'm starting my new full-time job as (IT) Solution Architect in a rather big company. I'll have to focus on that for a while.

Hey guys,

new job is interesting so far, I'm happy with it First time I work for a big company too.

But working 40+ hours per week requires a new schedule for my twitch stream. Also slightly related to the fact that I have to get up at 7 am on most days :

Monday - Thursday ~22 pm CE(S)T (actually a bit earlier today)
Occasional extra weekend streams

Sometimes I'll have to skip a stream though, like tomorrow. FeelsBadMan.

Hey everyone!

Unfortunately, due to my job, I have to cancel my current stream schedule, because I'm required to travel to the client site on most weeks between Monday and Thursday. Those were exactly my fixed streaming days. I don't think streaming on laptop + hotel WiFi is fun.

I'll still try to stream on some weekends, and some occasions when I stay at home during the week. Make sure to follow me on Twitch! I'm closing my Twitter account because I use it too rarely.

Let's conclude with something fun. Daily quads, from last stream - aka "allright, I call".

PokerStars - 10/20 NL (3 max) - Holdem - 2 players

Hero (BB): 20.5 BB
SB: 54.5 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 3 4

SB raises to 2 BB, Hero raises to 5 BB, SB calls 3 BB

Flop: (10 BB, 2 players) J 3 3
Hero bets 2.1 BB, SB calls 2.1 BB

Turn: (14.2 BB, 2 players) 3
Hero checks, SB bets 14 BB, Hero calls 13.4 BB and is all-in

River: (41 BB, 2 players) 6

Spoiler:
Hero shows 3 4 (Four of a Kind, Threes)
(Pre 36%, Flop 94%, Turn 100%)
SB shows K 9 (Three of a Kind, Threes)
(Pre 64%, Flop 6%, Turn 0%)
Hero wins 41 BB

Hey guys, how is it going?

After the first month in my now job, I'm really happy. However, my poker volume sucked. But hey, at least my chipEV was good.

Couldn't do much about the volume. I didn't track my time spent, because I got a new smartphone (Honor 9, really nice) and ****ed up the data transfer.

June 2018 goals

In June, I want to improve volume. Somehow. No idea how

I'll try to get better at multitabling so I can play 4 tables consistently (when not streaming). I'll need to improve my fitness and stamina, because right now I'm too exhausted after work to fully spend the evenings on poker. But I'll be out of town a lot due to work. I'll already have to carry 2 work laptops (and explain it to airport security). Not sure if I wanna bring a 3rd one for poker.

So let's try this:

[ ] Play 750+ spins: 150 per weekend + some
[ ] 1-2 twitch streams per weekend
[ ] chipEV 50+
[ ] When travelling, focus on studying
[ ] Work on physical fitness and stamina: Running + back/core workout each 2x/week
[ ] Improve nutrition: Reduce caffeine and carbonhydrates, esp. sugar;
[ ] Quit smoking

The last point will be both challenging and interesting. It's not a good time with loads of work and a full, stressful schedule. But then again it's never a good time, right?

Allright, back from my first work trip. It was only 3 days this time (will usually be 4+). But too tired to stream or play tonight.

Last weekend I played roughly the planned 150 games. But after a good Saturday with decent volume and a long-ish stream, I had a super bad Sunday. I went on a short but heavy tilt session for 30 games.

What sucks the most is that I thought I'm beyond this. And that I'm not sure why it happened. I was in a good mood and results don't matter much to me. All I know is I played too fast (on 3 tables), because I want to improve multitabling. And I ran into coolers a lot so part of it was unlucky, but eventually just played bad (or maybe from the start).

I guess with that one session I ****ed up my whole June results. I'll try to post a graph mid-month. Remind me if I don't I don't wanna check chipEV right now, but I guess it's now ruined.

But hey, good old Bob says there are

.. so we'll see how it goes. I'm motivated to play. But a bit insecure about my game after that happy accident.
