I've been in full poker mode over the last few days and have had a bunch of FTs, but only managed to win one of those which was today in the $100 5k on Party. Lost AK<KT and AK<66 aipf while 3 handed, both times for a 4 to 1 lead HU, but grinded it out and made the comeback.

I'm really glad to be doing well after moving up stakes. My av buy in was somewhere around 30-35 before this thread and is now 70-100 depending on the day. Tho that number prob gets a little bloated from playing less tables and game selecting better, stars 54ko < party 100 for example.

I watched a TEDTalk today about the power of the word "Yet" and the importance of having a growth mindset. Realising that abilities don't come to us, they are developed by processing errors, learning from them, and correcting them, and this is how we achieve goals. It got me really motivated for 2015 and I have some things I want to get written down over christmas while the year comes to an end. So i'll be putting some time into a full post about my plans for the next year, one that I can use as a quote this time next year, with everything achieved!

I'll be playing MTTs across 6 sites with an ABI of about $80. Aiming for 4-6 days of play per week, with one full day set aside for studying.

Such a love/hate relationship with live poker, but I'm confident I can have success at it. There's ANZPTs to look forward to, as well as other series that pop up in Australia as the year runs out. WSOP would obv be awesome and I'd be up for it, but that will largely rely on how the first half of the year goes.

Good books often give you 10-40 years personal experience/mistakes/lessons, it far more easier, less time consuming and cheaper long-term to learn from other people mistakes then your own in whatever level you are at different parts of your life (wealth, happiness, love and relationships, health).

@kamitis haha yeah the ratio is way off. I use to read a lot more and am just easing back into it now, but I def agree. Will be good to get some recommendations from your thread as well.

I'm starting the year off with The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. Really interesting so far and quite an eye opener as my family is Catholic and I went to Catholic/Christian schools, although I've never been 'religious'. That's actually pretty common in Australia. I'd say only 10% or so of the students in my Catholic high school were actually religious.

Played a session earlier starting at 1am and got annoyed at myself for being unsure about a bunch of pretty std spots, mind just wasn't into it today. Lost a flip and got 13th in the Breeze, that's about it. Going to go through all of todays marked hands and post some questions to the stable, feel like there's a few simple things I need to go over again.

@card core nah I've got a HUD, looks like I don't from the earlier screenshot itt but I just have it dimmed while playing. Have found it makes me more likely to search for a specific stat and give it a good look rather than just a glance because it's been visible the whole time anyway. Also less cluttered table is the nuts

A very late decision but it looks like I'm going to the Aussie Millions in Melbourne! Flying out on Tuesday morning and slumming it in a hostel for the love of the game :P. Got a great schedule to look forward to.

Loaded up 3 games tonight while watching the latest It's Always Sunny episode (have missed this show, so glad it's back). Got 2nd in the 55 Super KO on 888 and 15th in an 82 Hyper. Probably watch a movie now before bed, have got some mates coming over tomorrow for FIFA and beers.

Any tournaments run in melbourne or sydney between march and april? Plan to come to aus to visit family. Any tips which casino is good for poker op?

ANZPT Sydney is in late March.

Melbourne is terrific for poker.

Do they have $500 or $1000 bis? I cant afford for more than $1k

ANZPT Sydney usually has 4 or 5 buy ins under AUD$1k and then a AUD$2,200 main event.

I would guess a $330 accumulator event, a $550 NLH, $550 KO, $440 turbo and a teams event. Just my educated guess though.

Arrived in Melbourne yesterday. Room is pretty good, Crown casino is just up the road. First event today starting in an hour the $1150 6max

Lot of days and events to play through but hoping to do well right out of the gate. Vamo

Bricked A9cc on K 6c 7c against KQ all in on flop, within 20mins of sitting down. Was left with 2k of the 10k start stack at 100/200, Then doubled up through same guy with the mighty T9dd. Next level we check raised bottom set into a flush draw that shipped and we held to get back up to 12.5k at 300bb. Final hand we open 88 and jam over a 3b. Up against AKdd and it runs out 7c 5c 3c 4x Kh, we had a club. Sigh

Back tomorrow night for flight 1/3 of the $1150 accumulator
