Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK
Got some new tournies approved for my stake yesterday!
 The Big $55
 $22 1R1A
 $55 Nightly 30k
Turbo cap raised from $11 to $16.50
It's funny to think that back in September/October last year I was doing $50-$100 deposits (no withdrawals) and playing $1-$11 tournaments.
Never making any final tables and had about $1.7k in total MTT cashes.
start of thread total cashes (18th Jan): $15,738
last time I updated total cashes (Feb 21st): $28,901
Current total cashes: $35,212

Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK
So today's the day, ANZPT Sydney Main Event.
Leaving for Sydney in about half an hour (90min drive)
Didn't end up selling any of my action, which I'm sure I'll be glad I did once I ship the $200k(ish)

Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK
Made it to day 2.
Had 85k at 500/1000, then called a 14bb UTG + 1 shove, in the big blind with AJo, he had QQ.
2 4 5 A Q
Then tried a stupid bluff in the last half hour and blew 20k, ended the day with 41k. Sucks getting home, checking online and realizing that 85k would've been a top ten stack.
If I'd known that I probably would've played alot tighter in the last level.
We return on Saturday to 600/1200 so i've got about 34bbs. Had Jeff Lisandro on my table for most of the night, saw a bunch of other pro's which was cool, Dan Kelly, Jackie Glazier, Grant Levy, oh... and LYNN GILMARTIN, SO HOT.
All up the day had 8.5hrs of play, started with 215 entrants and finished with 86.
Looking forward to day 2.

Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK
ANZPT Sydney - $2200 Main Event (Day 2)
Ended up getting 85th/460, about 30 from money (min cash 3.8k).
Was pretty card dead throughout the day, but didn't necessarily have a tight image, got walks when I finally picked up AA and KK, which was just ridiculous seeing as I had a heaps active table with the chipleader and also Dominik Nitsche (bracelet winner), both of whom were opening wide.
Those 2 played some good pots together, was fun poker to watch.
The day started with 175 of the 460 left. I busted about 4 hours in (4 levels).
I hung around my original 40k for most of the day. Hit a max of 58k and a low of 18k (but doubled that 18k shortly after when 3 bet shoving K9cc vs A7o).
Final hand I picked up KQ mp. with 43k opened to 4.5k.
Button 3 bet to 10,800.
He was good and his range was pretty wide.
He had about 60k to start the hand. it folded to me and I flatted. I feel pretty confident at live poker and making reads,
especially against players that are good, not just your average donks that have any two, so I flatted and the flop came 4 6 9 (2 hearts).
I checked pretty quick, stared him down and waited for him to act. He slid out 12,200.
I'd ruled out 1010+. He didnt seem strong at all. I was thinking AQ, AJ, maybe even I had him dominated with KQ?
But I didnt think my hand mattered, "he wasnt going to be calling my shove because he didn't have a hand he could do that with", this was my thinking at the time. I was right, and wrong.
I asked him how much he started the hand with, he said 60k. I shoved my last 33k in and he went into the tank. 3 minutes later he calls with AJo.
The board bricked out and I was done.
No idea how he makes that call there, if he was wrong he'd be crippled. The way the play had been going, the table dynamic, the way the hand played out etc, it was just so unlikely I had air there. I mean come on, AJo? really? No respect for some kind of suited connector that hit, a pair, AK, AQ?
Just straight up, "$2200 TOURNAMENT, NEARING THE CASH, FTW...MY AJ HIGH IS GOOD... CALL". give me a break.
Was super tilting to see him turn over one of the very hands I was praying he had (and would fold). He wasn't looking at me either so I dont think there was any "read" he was really going with, he must've just thought his hand was good. With such a long long structure he just called off in such a risky spot.
Was a major disappointment. Had a really good feeling about the tourney, especially with the whole "winning the ticket" aspect. Would've been an awesome story in the making.
Ah well, onto the next one.

Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK

Had first run of the schedule this morning.
Wasn't sitting down ready to play until 2:30am but started with the $21 KO.
Last thing I regged for was the $11 6 max on Full Tilt at 7:20am (cut session a bit short).
Things got pretty crazy around 5am. I was playing really well and had lots of deep runs going and eventually I had both 27" monitors loaded up because I wasn't busting anything. So I skipped the High Noon on Full Tilt aswell as the 1UP multi entry. Will probably take those out of the schedule for good.
Deepest run was 17th/700 in $5.50 2R1A,
raised to 30k UTG at 7.5k/14k with 200k. MP donk shoves 200k with K10, i snap with AK. 10 on the flop. YUMMY
Got 30th/910 in the $22 NL [12k]. One of my favourite tournies. Really want to win it at some point this year.
Cashed in lots of other stuff aswell, Really happy with how I played today.
Took a bunch of bad beats well and kept playing my A game.
Time to get some zzzz's and do it all again tomorrow.
thanks for reading.

Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK
Just got 7th in Full Tilt $11 Daily Double B.
Min raised the SB to 4.8k with 30k behind.
BB shoves 30k with A2o. I snap with 99.
We all know the flop obviously comes x A 2.
Awesome.

Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK
Anyone got any good recommendations for some Anime I can download?
Have heard "Full Metal Alchemist" is one of the best, already on that. Any others?
Also got first 2 seasons of Queens Blade, because there's nothing bad about warrior chicks with giant tits

My bro highly recommends Naruto, Naruto Shippuden. Says he rates it better than DBZ. That's something I'm gonna decide for myself though if and when I watch it since DBZ rules. Give it a go if u haven't seen it yet. Its quite long though.
My personal recommendation is Death Note. Super bad ass series that I rly loved.

Use to love Dragonball Z when I was younger. Have always had a bit of trouble finding torrents for it though, and the box sets they sell in Australia are SO expensive.
Yeah googled Death Note, sounds so sick. Downloading now

Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK
Just bubbled the FT of $27.50 KO on stars and the $5R+ Escalator on Full Tilt (10th and 12th)
Pretty annoying but feel I'm playing well.
Planning a big session for tomorrow to end the month and will do March Review tomorrow night.

Comments:
Volume was pretty low this month and I think the results speak for themselves, could've done alot better.
I fell pretty short of Gold Status on stars aswell. Between having a break and playing the Live ANZPT events I just didn't get much poker in until the end of the month.
But it was definitly nice to get some good results early in the month in some tougher tournies (Action Hour and $11R+).
I'm feeling really motivated towards poker again and think that a small month was just what I needed to get me really keen again.
Full Tilt:
I've started playing more on Full Tilt aswell. Graph is gross but only a tiny sample.
I was only playing $26 tournies on there to start but over the last few days I started playing some $5 and $11 stuff and even though the pools are alot smaller
I definitly think theres value there and am going to keep playing on there alot through April.
News:
I'm moving to a new house on April 17th and will have 2 rooms for myself, right across the hallway from each other. Obviously one will be the grind room and the other, the bedroom.
Really looking forward to it but due to the higher rent I'm gonna have to start chipping in $70 a week (still living at home with Mum).
I get my own loungeroom aswell with Aircon and half of a double garage which will get converted into a poker room (pics to come in next review)
So I need to be playing more poker and getting some $$$ in the bank for rent and other bills that will be coming up.
Overall MTT graph (Stars & Full Tilt)
Thanks for reading and GL all!!

I had a room mate who played poker and talking about it everyday helped. Once I won my first tourney in December I started to take it seriously and bought some poker books, watched some training vids etc, but talking with other players is definitely the biggest help.
I'm not sure, they checked out a couple of my hand histories and were pleased with how I played and offered me the deal. It all happened pretty quick and I was/still am really grateful for it. Wouldn't be playing now if I hadn't have gotten it. Has been awesome to win more and more since being signed and to confirm the "potential" that they must've seen.
