Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK

Hey OP congrats for your success and your hardworking habilities! MTTs are the variance kings as you know, so just keep the good work!
I have a question for you: I have a full-time engineering job and had a baby 4 months ago so I don't really have too much time to play, but 2-3 nights per weeks I play 6-8 tournaments per night. My best score so far has been 3500$ 1st/400 in a 50$ tournament. At the beginning I didn't use any HUD but lately I am using HM2 with a very simple HUD, just a couple of lines with VPIP/PFR/Steal/3bet/F3bet/4bet/CB/FCB. Do you use a HUD? Do you check any site like sharkscope or any other for studying your opponents?

Thanks mate appreciate it.
Yeah I use HEM2 aswell. Sounds like you have it set pretty good. Mines pretty similar, just arranged different.

VPIP/PFR/HANDS
CB/CBT/FCB/FCBT
3B/F3B/3Bpremium%
STEAL/FOLD TO STEAL/BIGBLINDS

I use to use ONLY that information, but now after getting to know the program better I'll check specific sections of those stats relevant to the hand I'm in, especially with players I have 500 hands+ with.

I add notes while I play and colour tag players with their ability. This is really really helpful, and seems slow given theres SO many players online, but they do add up.
Over time you'll start seeing the lobby's get fuller and fuller with colour tags, and that just means your gonna know to play against more players. MONEY IN THE BANK
It only takes seeing an early pos limp, or a horrid showdown hand to give a donk a red tag because a good player is NEVER LIMPING EARLY POS. I try to look for things like that, things that a good player would never ever do.

For tagging the good/best players I use sharkscope. If your doing just MTT's its important to search for their "scheduled" stats, not their 'overall'. I'll base the colour I give them on their graph/scores. I've only got 4 tags. Friends, donks, good, and beasts.
Other than that, I'll do reviews in HEM2 and go over hands I've tagged during sessions. It's awesome because there's no rush, you can spend aslong as you want looking at the stats and making notes on the player.

Thanks for reading, best of luck

Running terrible tonight. Gonna call it quits and stop regging.
Got a really awesome weekend ahead. My mate Nathan (nthndlln) is coming round for 2 nights, Sat and Sun grind. Sunday is probably going to be the best day of the year, WCOOP, MiniFTOPS, there's so much good stuff on. Can't wait.

Got a new av just before for some run good. Don't see how this fella won't be able to ship a WCOOP. Gl everyone

When you shark scope what's ability score range for good players and beasts?

Thanks mate you too. Let me know how the sats go and if you're gonna play more. I'll probably just play all the stuff under $55 but skip rush i think.

I pay more attention to the graph and amount of games, but anyone above 90 is def a beast. Aswell as high 80s. And I spose about 75-85 is where alot of the good players will be. If the player is opted out and all I can see is their rating I usually don't thinks that's enough to just give a tag, always better to see graph and amount of games aswell.

Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK

Had a really gay session tonight, just a small one because I got too sickened to keep regging. For some reason I really let it get to me and I was walking around telling myself WCOOP was a ***** and I wasn't even looking forward to it anymore haha.
But an hour went by and I watched some regular show "AYOOOOW" and now I"m fine and looking forward to the weekend again. #MTTemotions

Was almost convinced he was a bot designed to crush me. I just jammed 20bbs with K7hh on him bvb 3 handed and he just has KK. gg

Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK

Today has been the single worst day I've had this year and I'm not exaggerating in the slightest. Threw and broke a mouse (haven't done since early 2012), have lost twice as much as my previous worst day ever, MU is almost twice as much as it's ever been this year. Absolutely sickened with poker right now.

Had to leave the room 3 separate times today to have a 5 min break and calm down, and every single time it just got worse.
I'm still kinda in shock at how many hands I've lost today. Just the most disgusting bull****. Feel like it'll be too soon if i ever log into Stars again.

def, any other day I would have but with WCOOP and ftops on I couldn't just log out and go to bed. I'd been looking forward to it for too long.

Starting up another session, lol. Had a great sleep, feeling 100 times better than I did yesterday. But to be fair, it was truly disgusting.
I'm just going to forget about it and move on. Probably a good idea to give the Mental Game another read

Back at it today.

Re: straykatbluz 2013 MTT's - USING NUMBERS ON THE CARDS TO MAKE NUMBERS IN THE BANK

weeeeeeeeeeeeee

Started off the day and had about 5 or 6 tournies loaded up.
Decided after a couple hours that I was tired and was just going to quit early and do something else for the day.
Then I ended up 2 tabling the Hot $11 and The Big $8 for hours.
2nd in Hot $11 for 6.2k and got about 80th in the Big $8, a double FT would've been SICK but can't win em all!

Am obviously super stoked! Biggest score I've had, and it's such a huge relief after the horrid run I'd been having. Everything just went my way today.

Hi

I read through this entire thread and I enjoyed it. The progress reports and screenshots of victories were fun.

It seems like when you have days with bad beats you follow up with a big score.

I exclusively play tournaments also, however, I am currently located in USA and I cannot play on Poker Stars.

I am working on trying to improve my live tournament game, since online play is really restricted over here.

Good luck!
