I'm going to use this thread to journal my activity on Carbon. I have been participating in the "Zero to ???..on Merge" thread and have built $300+ rolls twice now, only to not move down when I take shots and blow it all. It doesn't help that I've been running very poorly in big pots.

I came in 6th in the $300 gtd yesterday buying in with VIPP's for ~$25ish, and I'm going to conduct myself properly and build a roll. I will likely start by shortstacking $4nl tables.

I'm a pretty good live player, and online I think I have a good edge, but I know my game needs work too. I'll be posting some hands and looking for feedback and criticism.

good luck donk, just use proper BRM and you will be fine. You hace shown that you can crush, but poor BRM has killed you

If we are on the button in a 6max game with a 50bb stack and have 10 10, and unknown MP raises 3x, what's the play?

Had a good hour and a half session earlier. Started out down a few bucks due to QQ<AA and KK<AJ. Won a $15 pot towards the end of the session and finished up +$11.

Interesting hands ($4nl):

Hand 1:

Villain ($5) raises from HJ to $0.12, CO calls, hero ($4) calls on button with A3. Blinds fold.

Flop ($0.42) 34A

- Villain checks, CO checks, Hero bets $0.24.
- Villain calls, CO folds

Turn ($0.90) 34A5

-Villain checks, Hero bets $0.52
-Villain calls

River ($1.94): 34A5K

-Villain checks, Hero bets $1.08
-Villain raises to $2.16
- Hero??
Villain has been opening pots preflop about 20%, but haven't seen him do anything crazy postflop the couple of orbits I've been at the table.

Hand 2:

Villain and Hero both have 200bbs, or $8.

Hero raises button to $0.11 with J10, Villain calls from BB.

Flop ($0.24) 410J

Villain checks, Hero bets $0.16, Villain raises to $0.37, Hero raises to $1.07, Villain goes all in for $8.00.

Only seen villain show down nutted hands. He has 3bet me on flops before, and have he flat called my raise previously with JJ.


Anyway, BR is $36

Had a HORRIBLE session last night at $4nl. Still buying in for 50bbs, I managed to lose $14. Ran JJ into KK, KK got busted 3 times AIPF, and my 3bets with AK never hit. Built up a 150bb stack and got it in with top 2 pr against the other big stack and lost when he turned the ROYAL.

BR $22. I'm considering playing the $2 STHUSNG's. Any comments on this idea? I definitely have an edge HU.

BR $52 after playing some $2 STHUSNG's and flopping a boat in a 3-way AIOTF in $4nl. Sat at a $10nl table for a few orbits and left even, then slapped myself in the face for bad BRM.

Started playing the $4 STHUSNG's and ran pretty bad. Fortunately the competition was even worse. Played some $4nl and got it in with top set on a Q54 board, got 1-outed by a river 5 to give him quads. First time I've been 1-outed by quads in a flop set-over-set. Bye bye 150 bbs.

I'm constantly seeing leaks in my STHUSNG game and I'm improving on those alot. At this point I really feel the sky is the limit for me.

Start of thread is right around 950 games.

Getting crushed in the STHUSNG's at the moment. Haven't seen many fish recently, and the mixture of bad card distribution and running bad once the chips are in are a bad combo.

BR is something like $25.

Still getting crushed, losing flips, getting sucked out on. I may just throw in a deposit if I go busto so I can actually grind. Currently short-stacking cash and playing some micro sng's on a $10BR. I wonder when my luck will turn.

I guess the consolation is that 90% of the regs I see at the tables and look up on sharkscope are major losers with like -20% ROI.

Carbon is still going poorly. I think I may get some hours in this weekend at the local 1/3 game which would be cool, as long as I don't get tied into a marathon session of MW3...
