I am going to play regular tables from now on. Really miss all the juicy tables at NL2 reg. A lot more tableselecting bud my wr was quite good there so hoping to continue that one.
Week nr 4 was quite rough, too much switching styles of play, 6max,9max, zoom etc.
Sticking to how it was before from now on!
The month ends at thursday so will update then with a graph of the first month and goals for may.
I hear you, I've gotten a bit lazy about updating daily too. It's a lot of effort to constantly do lol. Good to see you switching to regular tables; I know I prefer them. Now all you have to do is switch to 6max again. Kidding, I know you don't like them. But I was thinking another reason for your failed attempt at 6max might be playing too many tables. It's really helpful to be able to focus on decisions more when playing a different format. But enough of my 6max talk! Keep showing the profits
I constantly keep coming back for poker. Have done it several times these past 6 months and just been back for a few weeks and then "giving up" or finding some lame excuse for not to continue.
The main reason is that I play a lot of golf and competing in it. But to be able to play golf I have to have a part time job (where the most of the time is spent late oct - mars). And its so freaking boring to have a job where I can only work a few days a week to be able to give golf my full attention. I mean that there is not a lot of companys willing to hire a worker with such strict requirements.
Last night I watched the documentary "2 months, 2 million" which gave me the motivation to start playing again. They didn´t put in the work all the way but it kinda showed what lifestyle you can live if you really reach the highest stakes.
Anyway, I am so far low at the poker experience hierarki that having thoughts about having poker as an job or part time job is far away in the future. But Im willing to put in work when I know my dreams.
Just to make clear, golf comes first and then I can play poker.
What I have discovered previously during the limited time I played poker is that the mental challenges I have faced in poker really helps my golf game and vice versa. I have been abled to handle bad shots in golf so much easier now and rarely gets angry in poker either. Still have a lot of improvements to do though.
Yesterday I deposited $60 to my account on Poker Stars and I started at NL2 today playing 8 tables.
Managed to do 3 sessions:
51 min - 193 hands - +$1.30
89 min - 819 hands - +$3.85
122 min - 972 hands - +$10.40
In the next couple of days Im going to post some goals either for rest of the month or beginning in august.
Im going to read "Dynamic Full Ring of Poker - by James "SplitSuit" Sweeney" at least as my next poker book.
If anyone got a study group or if anyone wants to talk strategies or poker in general on skype I would be so glad. Please send me a pm if so.
Total profit/loss: +$15.55 Time: 4.37 hours Hands: 1984 Bankroll: $75.55
142 min - 1066 hands - +$1.48
166 min - 1218 hands - +$0.57
As you see I managed to squeeze in two sessions today, didn´t feel that the action was that high on the tables today though. Second session I lost a few big pots and was down 2 BI at a time so it was very nice to turn that around.
Marked some hands from the session that I was unsure about and will go through those before I begin my next session.
I have come up with a few goals for the rest of july.
Goals for July 2015:
30 000 hands - [4268 / 30000]
75 hours - [9.50 / 75 ]
Read Dynamic Full Ring of Poker - [23 / 361]
Total profit/loss: +$17.60 Time: 9.50 hours Hands: 4268 Bankroll: $77.60
121 min - 558 hands - +$3.02
92 min - 587 hands - +$1.52
Spend a lot of time studying since last nights disaster.
Went through some hands and I wrote down a few things that I did wrong at this is what I need to work on:
-Play more straight forward
-Give villain credit for their action
-Do not bluff
-Be more careful with TP hands
-Think about why you are betting!
I read the microstakes section in Harringtons book and I think that will be enough for now. Wrote down some good things that I take with me.
Also very happy with my subscription at "run it once". Copied a really good note taking strategy that works really good.
Tomorrow I have a lot of things to do and I might get in 1 session in the late night.
From now on I´m going to try an different approach than I have done before.
Way more conservative BRM.
Currently got 34 BIs for NL2.
I want 70 BIs for NL5 and 100 for NL10 and then take it from there.
If you are going to comment "dude thats so bad, the whole thing will drag you down". Feel free to do that but I won´t even reconsider it because of it.
I have almost read through all "treat your poker like a business" toda, second time I am reading it. Dusty is something special and there is a lot of things from the book that I am taking with me in one way or another.
From now on there will be a post once a week, hopefully on sunday night or monday morning. I won´t look at my profit +/- on either HM2 or PS until the end of each week.
I feel that my result from each session are affecting my mood way too much. If I´m giving it my best all the time I am pretty sure the result will be positive over a big sample.
Since I play hell of a lot golf I have to schedule both the golfing part and be precise with when I am going to play poker and what I want to do then.
On the weekly post I will post 7 hands each week that I hope to get a different perspective on.
I am also going to watch 1 video every day on RIO to keep developing my game.
Im also probably going to add a few more tables, will probably play 6,7 or 8 tables from now on. Going to feel what feels right and then go with it. Means I will tighten up my game a little bit but not too much.
First week is over, very swingy as you can see on the graph.
The big upswing in the beginning was from playing 9max. Then I started with 6max and didn´t adapt to the strategy that well and was calling way too much. After losing like 6 BIs I told myself to study several hours before playing another session. Read the microstakes section from "Harrington on 6max". Reviewed hands on skype with some poker friends and it helped me to identify where I was losing all my money and it was some variance but a lot of big misstakes also.
As I said in the previous post I will do some changes from now on.
-More conservative BRM
-Add a few tables and handvolume
-Schedule when I am going to play and study
-1 post per week
-Not going to look at my results until end of each week
Goals for july 15:
30 000 hands - [11 428 / 30000]
75 hours - [27.10 / 75 ]

A really tough week for me. Started quited bad and I think that I approached it all a little bit wrong. After reading "Treat your poker like a business" I was all pumped up to play 1,000 tables at the same time and trying that the money will print by themselves.
To do this I have to have my strategy all planned out and Im not there yet, so I didn´t have the time to make all my decisions right.
In the end of the week I made som adjustments. Have watched a few more "Run it once" videos and taking as much notes as possible all the time.
I have learned a lot more on 3betting and cold calling this week and my ranges for those is a lot clearer than before.
For next week I am going to watch Djunkells "Improving your exploit skills" on RIO and try to find some useful stuff there.
Right now I am playing 6 tables and occasionally 8 but not more than that.
Got some hands if anyone wants to take a look.
#1
Think that I played this hand right except the river. Standard 3bet pre flop, standard cbet on the flop. But I should just x/f river. Any other thoughts?
#2
Still unsure about this hand. Villain is 60/30 over 10 hands.
I think that I can call villains raise on the flop.
Obviously shouldn´t donk out on the turn. What to do on his raise on the turn?
IMO 1st hand double barrel turn,as played there's nothing you can do beside b/c river.
Hand 2 b/c flop and don't donk turn.As played easy fold vs his raise
Hand 3 bet bigger on all streets vs the fish.Triple barrel big for value on all streets and as played call his river bet
Hand 4 is tough but probably a fold otr since a lot of draws that he had ott completed and I assume ppl at 2nl don't overbet turns and shove rivers with busted draws

Due to lack of time and a lot of technical issues with my computer I won´t share any hands this week.
As you can see on the picture I have switched too PT4 now instead of Holdem Manager. Got so tired of HM freezing atleast 1 time every session and Im also liking the software in general a lot more!
The change I made to this week was to begin playing zoom instead of reg tables. Talked a lot to the players in my study group and "if you want to get good at this game you have to play against the best, zoom is the way to go". Its so much more handy to only have two tables running instead of 6 at the same time.
When I hit $100 I will try NL5 and move down again if I fall down to double digits.
