I've played 1$/2$ and 2$/5$ NL live (poker room/home games) for a long time and built my BR to 25K$. I was hoping to start playing the 10$/20$ and try to reach another level.

I know it's maybe too small of a BR, but I can move down the limits and build back again. I need to take a shot and play higher.

I live in Quebec, and there are really not many games of 10$/20$. I thought maybe since I played high it would be worth to travel for it. Otherwise I know of one game 10$/20$ in my area, but I think the rake goes like to 50$ per hand. I thought one of the advantages of playing high stakes is you should be able to cut in the rake proportion.

I don't really know where to start for the next step. I can say that online is definetely not an option since I always performed live. I think I'll try the game in my area and see what is the quality of the players. I consider myself to be a very good player, but I never played that high. I was curious about some tips. I'm wondering if High stakes players are necessarily better players or if it could in fact be an easier battle, since you're supposed to pay small rake in proportion, and maybe rich people are busy with other with other income, making them less obsess with poker ? And also bc if I'd play high stakes, I wouldn't need to double up 5 times to be happy for a night.

Just thinking. Thanks.
