Hey guys,
After reading a lot of PGC threads and finding software to effectively track hands and stats I've found some inspiration to create a thread of my own to get some feedback from you guys.
Your typical micro grinding story, I made a min deposit on bovada about a week ago with the plan to redeposit if I went busto at 5NL zone (only 5 buy ins) but it has been going rather well through about 5,500 hands.
I've chosen zone poker as my main game as I feel that the play is very soft at the micros and through playing a solid TAG game i'll be able to build my roll slowly but surely to climb the ladder. I also play without a HUD at the moment so Zone is the best way to go as I can play a rather exploitive game without being taken advantage of. Something to keep in mind..
-I realize my volume could be better but I'm currently in college, have a 4 day a week job and have a full time (mostly overtime) girlfriend. So I feel that 5K hands a week is pretty good for the full plate I've got right now.
Some graphs and my stats to get the thread going...
My strategy is as follows:
-Double tabling 5NL zone which is the max for zone tables
-Playing a tag style which means
-Nit from the blinds/UTG
-opening up reasonably wide when folded to in CO or Button
-Playing rather fit or fold barreling only in very selective spots
I realize this is an exploitable strategy but that's why I'm playing zone in which I believe this is an optimal approach.
I'm using pokeit.co to track hands stats and graphs, a great little piece of software that is mostly web based and rather cheap for hand storage, perfect for me as I am not using PT or HEM right now as I have no use for it in Zone poker.
Right now My BR is at $75 after the min $25 deposit and am planning to take a shot at the 10NL games once I reach around $200.
-If anyone can give pointers on BRM at zone poker and strategy on shot taking etc.. please feel free to chime in.
I'm setting a goal of reaching 25NL within the next year, at these stakes I feel that i'll be playing "for real money' which is my goal as right now I consider myself a "Very Serious Rec Fish" LOL..some day I hope to not play poker for a living but simply a supplemental income.
Thanks guys I feel that I've rambled a little bit but any thoughts please feel free to share; I'll be updating a couple times a week with some hand histories if I come across some weird spots.
