I have been trying to take building my bankroll more seriously and lots of these threads have been good inspiration. I am starting with a $60 bankroll at 2nl zoom and hopefully spinning it up.

This thread will hopefully help me hold myself accountable and stop me from spewing at stakes that I'm not rolled for.

I will move up to 5nl once I have $75.

Update

I have made quite a bit of progress since the post above. I have played a lot of poker since I started in July 2017. I tried to learn entirely from trial and error and YouTube videos which is probably why I never got past 10nl for almost 3 years. In October 2019 after another failed 16nl shot I bought PIO solver and actually started to review hands I had played and I finally started making progress.

More recently, around June, I moved from PokerStars to GG poker. I’m not convinced GG is the answer but it really showed me that playing on stars sucks (although it hurts my ego playing in far softer pools).

Last 90 days I have spent entirely grinding GG reg tables to unlock the max $600 welcome bonus. I'm making this post just as I have clear the entire bonus. I have paid an insane amount of rake in this time.

Although work has taken up a lot of my time, on weekends I have been putting in really good volume (quite a few 10k hand days). However, I have probably spent cumulatively one or two hours on study over this period. I’m very pleased I have spun up my bankroll to where I can take some super comfortable shots at higher stakes. But rn, I want to focus on catching up on study.

I have a stupid number of hands saved for review, and a list of general spots I need to develop a strategy for. (e.g which bet sizes and combos to bet on to use on flush turn IP ect.)

Results

These are the recent results from the welcome bonus grind on GG in the last 90 days

These graphs do not include rake (and the rake is insanely high!)

25nl Regular Tables

50nl Regular Tables

100nl Regular Tables (Been playing a few hands when I see some soft tables)

Not fun seeing that every graph is below EV!

The graphs don't show rake so they are basically irrelevant, but hey they look pretty. My bankroll is now just shy of $5k ($1.3k in T$) which is a great milestone.

I'm very optimistic about the future of online poker, even in light of recent RTA controversy. So I am very keen to study and improve.

Short Term Goals

[] Start studying tournament strategy (mainly preflop work needed)

[] Play through entire 1.3k T$ balance with a positive ROI (I'm tracking this in excel). I plan to max late reg so that I can work through the balance quicker. I also believe this is a +EV strat due to ICM ?

[] Start playing 100nl Reg Tables (Should have 50BI after T$ converted)

Long Term Goals

I have recently taken on 6month lease for a studio London which sets a natural date to review my progress.

[] Reach 200nl

[] Start playing live poker (£1/2 in London)

[] Start budgeting and building a liferoll
