Hey! My name is Insomnolence and today I am starting my journey in progressing at HUNL! I have been playing poker for around 2 years however have always struggled with some form of tilt/poor BR management lol. That is primarily the reason i wanted to document my progress in a thread on 2p2. If i can have the pressure to succeed by making it something i share with the 2p2 community then i feel that my chances of successfully becoming a better HU player will be much higher.

About me:

-I have played ~30k HUNL hands so i consider myself fairly comfortable with HU play. In those hands i have been a slight loosing player but have since seen better success.

-I will be using a 20 B.I strategy at lower stakes, starting at 10nl with $200 BR. As i move up my B.I will > 20

-Once i reach $550 i will take a 4 B.I shot at 25nl.

-My goal is to be playing mid-high stakes HU and be a winning player at them

-I will focus initially at first with about 60% playing and 40% studying/handhistory review, Overtime i will probably adjust the ratio.

Any suggestions, comments or if anyone wants to discuss HU talk with me that would be awesome! Just comment below or what not :P

I will now begin my journey with a 1-2 hour HU session at 10nl. After the session i will show my results and any interesting hands for discussion.

Thanks for taking the time to read, and good luck on the tables

Day 1 complete! (Ending BR: $280.02)

Played HU nl10 primarily although spotted a fish on nl25 when no nl10 games were going. I played him for a bit and went up 1.5 B.I. I also played 2 different players at nl10 where i felt i played very good. Fortunatley im starting off running well and playing well finsihing today with a 38bb/100 over the small 850 hand sample.

Here is my graph!

One thing that i noticed i want to work on is taking longer when making decisions to avoid making any minor/major mistakes. I have noticed myself a few times betting without even considering the appropriate sizing based on my image, hand strength, board texture, villains range. etc.

Overall, day 1 was a success and i will post some hands from the session for review probably tomorrow when after i get some sleep and go to class :P

    Nh and nice start man!
I think when he check-raises on the turn, personally I will think that he's got spades flush draw, or some kind of open ended (A9, Q9, K9...) so really good play!

    Subbed for your challenge!

So day 2 i just mainly watched some poker videos and did some hand history review. I did play a little bit but didnt have an serious game, basically just people hit and running BR dropped down to ~ $230, still not bad given we are only on day 2!

Here is one hand from my session that somewhat bothered me haha (I played some 6max while waiting for HU matches which is why we are 5 handed). I felt flatting would be fine but opted to raise because i felt my hand was slightly to strong to call at 100bb eff stacks. Obviously facing a 4bet i felt it was not strong enough to shove/call vs an unknow. AJs i would see myself calling since im getting over 2.5:1 but offsuit i felt i might end up with too high reverse implied odds. Any feedback would be great, thx!
