Today +$142.
Today I tied my record of table changes (3 total table changes). I will celebrate w a piece of
I usually don't move tables too much, but table 6 was tighter than Wayne Newton's skin. I cdnt take it, and had to request a change. I was willing move to any of the other 2 1/2nlhe tables.

My observations on table 6 today...
-the button limped w AK after 6 callers...You know it's tight.
-a player not raising river w the nuts (a penalty in tournaments)...You know it's tight.
-when I'm considered the action player...You know it's tight.
-players discouraging straddles...You know it's tight.
-Player getting clock called on a $10 river bet...You know it's tight.
-Many players short buy...You know it's tight.

Finally a seat opened up on another table, so they sent me to table 12. There I was hitting everything, and I ended up busting 3 short stacks. In basketball terms-"the rim was looking really big!" I couldn't miss anything. After the 3 players got felted, another couple players left the table...maybe they smelled blood . Man, I was n a zone for that hour, and ran my stack from $250 to $750 in that span. So all of a sudden we were 3 handed, and table12 breaks. Shucks! So the 3 of us remaining players draw cards, for the one open seat at the other table. Gd news- I win the hi card. Bad news- doomsday, I was quickly back to Nitville-table 6. Are u telling me, I have to endure the table 6 pain for the second time!!! Why, why, why! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NjUQMs0kVEI

So again I requested a table change from this dreaded table 6. I felt like a dbag asking the pit again for a table change, but I wdnt hv wished table 6 on my worst poker enemy. I wd bet the farm that the nit torture on 6 parallels the same physical and mental pain as water boarding.
Finally, my request was granted, and I moved tables for the 3rd/final time. They sent me to table 11, where I lost $300!
Moral of story...b careful what u ask for.

Don't fault you for moving away from "nittyville". Maybe those players should be playing limit.
I was hoping you would play the Hammond main event, but best of luck in the Deepstack.

Not sure what the deal has been but the last two visits I've gone (a friday night and saturday day trip) I got seated at horribly nitting tables both times and had to ask for a table changes. We need a fresh batch of a couple dozen lags to pump eveyone back up again.

@23straight thanks man. Hope to cash the Deepstack, and make a gd run.
@tswpoker1 I agree. Mayb I'll post an ad on Craigs for LAGS wanted as HSI.

Another Memorable Moment From 2013.

The game was wide open today. 4 out of 9 players were going on 12+ hrs and many were drinking heavenly…A nice recipe for a juicy game.

We had Mr. A’neal in the game today, and firing on all cylinders. He provided all the drinks at the table to those wanting to get their booze on. It’s safe to say he spent $200+ on drinks alone. Saying Mr. A’neal can get very loud and out of control is an understatement. With each drink consumed, his decibel level goes up by one. I’m pretty sure I heard more G Damns and ****s in a span of 6 hrs than I have all year. Aside from the abusive language, u can count on at least 3 times an orbit the dealer reminding Mr. A’neal that the action’s on him. Even though he can b a supreme head case, we all put up w his antics because his action is so gd. I must admit, I laughed every time Mr. A’neal tried to straddle on his own large blind. Hell, he must have tried it 5 times! When the dealer said you can’t straddle your large blind, he then said, “well, then I raise dark $15.” So he wd put $15 out there w his $2 lb (comical), and players wd either fold pf, or limp call $17. On occasion a player wd make it $40 or smthing, and he wd call blind. Hell, smtimes he’d play it all the way to the river blind, and then look. Mr. A’neal’s only goal playing poker is to have fun, and it’s apparent he doesn’t care too much whether he wins or loses. He just wants to drink Makers, and flirt w the cocktail waitresses.

Mr. A’neal doesn’t come around too often, but when he does he attracts the players. Today 5 people were on the wait list to b at his table. Those players had some serious wait times because once players get to his table, many don’t leave until he leaves. This guy is action city!! Let me be clear - ACTION CITY!! His famous flop bet is the classic overbet. If he bets the flop, he is overbetting 90% of time. I.e. $30 into $10 pot, $60 into a $20 pot, etc. I also saw him open shove $2K on the flop into a $50 pot of KQQ . Just wow! After 2 players folded behind, he showed pockets 88s. So really all you have to do is catch a hand against him, and he will pay u off. He has no clue of bet sizing, stack sizing, hand ranges, odds, etc. Hell, he barely knows what he has most of the time! A’neal somehow built his $300 stack up to $2K today...getting even for the session. Many other players were playing pretty deep as well. I was getting pretty crappy holdings for the majority of the day, but still made $247 at the table.

After playing for 7 hrs today, I decided to leave right after the 5pm promotion. On Wednesdays at noon, 5pm, and 10pm HSI splashes the tables w $X amount. The amount depends on the # of tables open ($25 X # of tables open). At 5p, 5 tables were active, so $25 x 5 = $125 splash on every table. Around 4:30p I noticed the 3/6 limit had 3 open seats, and I was thinking it may b +ev to play there during the splash. 1 in 7 players seemed like a lot better chance to win $125 than 1:9 players. Plus I thought it wd b low risk/high reward. I also had a feeling things cd get pretty insane at Mr. A’Neal’s 1/2nlhe table during the splash hand…which cd b gd or bad. So at 4:55p I switched tables to go to play 3/6 just for the splash only. I felt like a toolbag binging 2 racks of red to the 3/6 , but after the splash hand I was going to leave/call it a day. So I’m dealt a couple of hands at 3/6limit (folded both), and then the splash hand. The pit tosses 25 redbirds in the middle of the pot, and the hand is dealt out. I’m playing any 2 cards for $3, for a chance to win $125. I’m dealt 27utg and call $3... Perfect no one 2bets, and it’s a family of 7 seeing the flop. The flop is- A27. Sb bets, and I raise to $6. 3 players behind call the $6, and initial bettor calls $3 more. The turn was a 7. I bet $6 followed by 2 callers. The river is a 5, I bet $6 and one caller. I win the “$125 splash”+ $75 pot = $200 total pot ! I played 6 more hands, then left. Ended up winning $240 on 3/6limit in 15 mins.

A’neals 1/2 nlhe table had a $2k pot during the splash hand…A’neal lost $700.

Overall I won $487 today. $247 on 1/2nlhe in 7hrs + $240 on 3/6limit in 10mins. = $447.

I won’t b counting the $240 I won on 3/6 limit towards $40K challenge.

@tswpoker1 and @callygal thanks

Today: -$253. Got 3 outed for $200. Frustrating from the jump today.

This evening I took my daughter and her friends to the movies. They saw "Cloudy w a Chance of Meatballs 2", and I saw "Runner Runner". Apparently, no one goes to the theatre on Thursdays evenings because I was the only one in the Theatre watching Runner Runner. It was super weird, yet kind of gnarly at the same time. The movie is definitely no "Rounders", but still pretty gd. Give it a 84%.
The movie pumped me up for tomorrow. Hopefully some rungd will b coming my way. I've noticed my tourney game getting better the last couple of months, and tomo I'm going to try to put it altogether.

Tomo: Leave at 8a. Get to Belterra at 9:30a. Play the $360 nlhe HPT event 1 Deepstack at 10a. Come home tomo night and hang w fam.

Great thread.

If you had used your 148 hours of tournament time for cash games and maintained your hourly winning rates, you'd be at around $33k with a decent shot at $40k. Now, instead, your only hope is a tournament score.

What direction do you see yourself headed in the future, cash games only and maybe work your way up through higher limits?

U r very true. It also cd hv been possible to b up about 100k w a deep run in a tourney. I hear what ur saying, but I like to mix in a few tourneys here and there. It breaks up the monotony a bit.
Direction in future - still undecided what I want to do w my roll. I hv about a 55k roll as of today, I can either try to pay off one of my rentals (135k house/70k left on mortgage), or play higher. It wd b sweet to hv straight cash flow from my rentals wo any mortgages, but that leaves me w grinding 1/2. At least the stress level wd b low and swings minimal. Who knows? Gd question, and glad u enjoy the thread. Gonna revaluate at the end of year, and decide.

@tswpoker thanks man.

Currently on break of tourney. 20k starting stack to 35k going into level 5.

I've been at those type of tables before. After table changing I always wonder why any of thoses guys would stay and play in such an unprofitable game. I can only assume they get more enjoyment from try to out-nit one another than actually making money.

Villain folded to my shove. He told me he had JJ. I'm leaning towards liking the flat better, and let him act on turn. I get it all in on turn w any turn card.

On my way home, concert in my car, sun setting. #spiritual #kush. Come back Sunday at 2p. Ended day1a w 58k. Coming back to level 13, 300-1k-2k. 50 players signed up for flight A, 16 players survived. Im setting the over/under line at 300.5 total runners.

Never forgotten! Praying for those families affected by this tragedy 15 years ago. It was the worse school bus accident in American History. A drunk driver crashed into the bus causing 27 fatalities (mostly kids). This sign makes me think a lot about life. If one can come to terms that life just isn't fair, it makes the bad stuff a little easier.
No need to sweat the small stuff. It cd always b a lot worse. B joyful, pray continually, and know God is gd in ALL circumstances.

I guess I was scared of getting outdrawn, but I shdnt b a little biotch and flat in this spot, Jam turn.
Maybe getting 3 outed otr yesterday for $200 was in the back of my mind.

BTW @moaurlawn played great today. I wd say our table was def the toughest of the bunch. I didn't see u make any mistakes. The dude played a flawless game. big ups. I'm sure u may have witnessed a couple mistakes by me, so please let me know if u saw anything that cd help my tourney play. I appreciate any advice/critique u can lend.
