Gonna hit the cash tables tonight and Saturday, hope to see you there. Has anyone been playing the half nl/half plo 1/2 game that's been running? Just wondering if they switch that up every half hour or every blind rotation. GL everyone.

@ashberrj nicely said. Free life coaching
@gl tswpoker not sure on the switch.

Yday won very small in cash +93. I thought I needed to switch gears, so I played a couple of $100 satellites. First one - bam! Chopped it. Second one- no gd. -$100. Then played a $70 satty after being talked into it (needed one more player), and generously (1.5 to 1 CL) chopped it. Prob wdnt hv chopped, but I had places to go/people to c.
Overall = +553. Still n red this week, and a big uphill climb to the top. Made peanuts over the last month. Thank goodness for those vouchers, and my rentals!! Glad poker is not my full time gig! Way Too stressful!
My question to the 2+2ers...$580 nlhe tournament, satellites, or cash today? I have no preference, so leaving it up to u guys. Whatcha think? Leaving now to head to Poker room. I'll check forum when I get there, and will do whatever I'm told. No worries either, I won't blame anyone but myself for my demise. Ur call. #feelingfroggy

I would say satellites/cash. The tourney sounds intriguing but the variance is just too sick, one bad play and see ya later.

Just read this entire thread while dreaming in my cubicle. Love what you are doing. Really enjoy reading about your thought processes and how you balance your life out while doing this grueling thing called poker. I must say, you seem UBER close to a big tourney score. Its just a matter of time dude. Keep at it, cause once you hit the big one, you can comfortably play higher stakes and then REALLY start to kill it. Either way, good luck and i hope you continue posting even after your challenge is over. I definitely want to hear about 2-5 and 5-10 escapades.

P.S. Fellow 1-2/2-5 grinder, and i can absolutely relate to a lot of the shenanigans you post about

2 big hands that didn’t go my way. Any feedback is welcome.

1st hand: During level 2 w blinds 50-100. Players involved in this hand all hv around the starting stack of 20K. Folded to me in cutoff w J8, and raise to 225 . Sb 3bets to 600, Lb blind calls 600, and I flat. The flop is 895. Sb checks, lb checks, I bet 600. Sb ch/calls, lb ch/folds. Head up on turn. The turn is a 6, sb checks, I bet 1200. Sb ch/calls. The pot is 5400. The river is a 4, sb checks again. I bet 2500. He tanks for a gd couple of minutes, and hesitantly makes the ch/call w AA. Gd call. He wins.

Things I cd hv done differently w this hand:
-if Im bluffing river, then I prob shd have made it 3100. Don’t really like my 2500 bet.
-I cd have checked flop, and released it to a bet on turn.
-folded preflop?
-bet flop, then check turn.

Oh well, lost 5k on this hand. That took me from 19k to 14k. Then I lost 2k during level 3 w AK top pair vs villain’s 2 pair. That took me down to 12K where I was middling over the next 2 levels. My next big hand and final hand came during level 5.

2nd Hand: During level 5 my stack is just shy of 12K. The blinds are 100-200. It’s folded to me otb, and I raise to 450 w AQ. Sb folds, and lb (same villain as hand 1 above) 3 bets to 1600. I tank for a bit. At this point, I still have 60 bigs. I decide to 4 bet to 5600. He 5bet shoves, and I call. He tables JJ. Aipf for 24k pot! Win this and I’m back to an average stack. The board runs out 54K5J.
Overall, I thought I played gd. Not sure if I wd change much w these 2 hands. whatcha think? I fig, just a gd call from villain in hand 1, and cdnt win the flip in hand 2.

Thanks everyone for the support! Very much appreciated!! Gl to my friends still in the tournament.

I'm by no means an MTT expert, but here's my 2cents:

- I think you played hand 1 fine, but yeah I'd prefer a larger bet otr. Basically you're repping a polarises range, which is usually best achieved with a large bet sizing. I don't even mind betting 4.5k or smth close to the pot.

- Hand 2 looks like a pretty standard call vs his 3b. AQs isn't the hand we can 3b/5b jam 60bb deep esp. at live MTTs, and we have position on him. Unless I have a very strong read that suggests otherwise, I'd flat and take the flop.
