I guess I'm the only one who thinks what Rayz is doing is perfect and just what he needs right now. I see it as a plan to take a step back, clear your mind, do repetitive manual labor that you can lose yourself in, while doing something that will improve your life and make you feel great and accomplished when it's done.

Rayz doesn't really need the money enough to get some low-paying job; he has food, shelter, clothes, etc. He only needs to keep his family happy and put his mind in the right place to make a comeback.

Gotta give you the cold hard truth. You aren't playing a stock game, you got no clue what you are doing.

Read some financial and investing blogs and learn about it. You will go broke picking random stocks.

When is it gonna turn?

After some rational thinking I know my life roll won’t last long. Heck, I see the funds dwindling like these Snicker Ice Cream bars in my freezer from the neighborhood kids. Plus, no calls on the scooter. I must take action before action takes me. At this rate, I don’t think I can last another week without pulling from RH. We head to poker room w all of our life $590ish.

Buy-n for the max $300. Starting losing small pots right away. Switched gears and played a little more aggressive and that backfired too.
Added on $200.
3bet KK and of course, Ace otf. Fire onced and check/folded turn.
Folded trips otr river w a straight and flush staring at me. Dwindled some more.

Finally get it all in w 5s7s on a dream flop.
Flop 5d 8s 9s.

After I check in early, next player fires $15 and 4 players calls! We put the ch/raise in for $250 ish total. All folds until the guy to my right decides feels lucky w KsJs. He calls

Turn Kc. Ouch
River 3c

Pair of Kings take it.

Life roll is $91.

And we are nearing a margin call.

Investing a bunch in your least liquid asset probably wasn’t the right call.

PICTURE DAY.
Goal: b positive and try to be happy.

9am: dog goes outside. I sip coffee before taking Mya to her 10a tennis practice (spring break).

Look at my investments and see it’s the lowest it has ever been. Look in my wallet and see a bunch of ones sprinkled w a few twenties.

Will todays plan work?

Me: “No”. *keep it simple and short answers.
Lowe’s clerk: *opens box, checks to see if everything in there. Puts it back in.
Me: *exhale.
Lowe’s clerk: “Looks like u paid cash, so we have $217 in cash coming back to u.”
Me: “sounds gd, thank u”

Subbed. Read through most of this thread. No matter where it ends it's a helluva journey. I am going "part time pro" $1/$2 NLHE soon. Building my 5 buy in starting roll over the next couple of weeks. Your story removes the false dreamy narratives out of my head and I'm sure for many others. Thanks for logging it for strangers to read in so much detail. GL with that buy in.

Wake up call time. Time to get in alignment with what is. When your life is not in alignment, **** goes south in a hurry. You are a professional poker player. You are not a professional trader.

We have past the 1mo. Mark since the 1k challenge started. Where u at? Or maybe 1k hrs was a bad plan?

Come on man, get it together. Ketchup.

I'm @ 125hrs

Switched tables and first hand.

KsJs n bb w utg straddle $5. 5 calls and straddle checks option.

Flop is Qs 9c 7h.

Checks to utg, who bets a small $7 into $25 pot. It folds around to me and I float one for this tiny bet.

Turn 6s. We now hv flush draw, straight draw and over card.

I ch/raise his $15 bet to $50. V goes ahead and puts the rest of his $100 stack in. I say “****”, and call $50 more.

River: brick city

8 10 > sad face

$130ish remains

Chin-up man, just start at day 1. You can't change the past. You got a paid off house, loving family and your health. Since your head isn't in the right zone to pretty much play poker at the moment (and your bankroll). Just teach tennis for awhile a build a small roll. I would let your investments stay in something stable at the moment while you regroup... let it sit in a 1yr GIC or something... also poker will ALWAYS be there. Build your stable base again, and rebuild... you have time.

Also returning tools, you've used for a project. Haha... I had a buddy who made serious coin but would always do this... his "excuse"... "why take up space in my garage when it's their stupid policy that allows this"... haha.

Yup @sleepyguy 30 day policy.
Wish I still had it tho. Now we have no money and unfinished floors.

My last money went on the turn QQKA

Me J 10 vs his Q 10.

River 10.

I know no one wants to hear a complainer, but I’ll say it anyways. Everything that can gone wrong has gone wrong. No worries tho, we can handle.

That sucks.

I remember playing through the Great Recession while getting unemployment and ran bad when I needed the money the most at one point. I was barely staying afloat but far from prospering. My car payments were late and the car got repossessed and I had to use a big part of my BR to get it back. I was playing $1/$2 with the last of my BR and was card dead and got blinded down and missed some flops and was down to $140-130. Got AA and raised pretty big and this dude that had a mountain of chips called. Flop was X X 2. Out of fear I shoved, I needed the pot like my life depended on it and wanted to take it down right there and leave. Guy called me with something like A2 or K2 don't remember exactly and a second 2 came on the turn.

He said "them 2's been running all night. Had to call it." Money that was a lifeline for me was just a fun gamble for him. I remember walking back to my car leaving the casino doing positive keep your head up talk in my head but I was devastated.

I survived though, you will too. Everyone makes a come back just sucks having to.
