We can jam, or we can call, but never fold. I don't like jamming. I don't think villain has many better hands than ours that are using this sizing throughout the hand. I like calling. The turn check does look deceptively weak if we had a J (I don't think it is, but meh). The preflop size, flop bet size, and river bet size take it for me. These are just large bets, far too large for him to be in the upper portion of his range. He's essentially using a polarizing bet sizing in a spot where he should merge it down a bit, since he almost never has a top of range hand here.
This. Yep. Same page here.
Actually thought about jamming river but checks turn looks weak and not sure if we r deep enough for this player.

I think I messed up the hand ott, and betting $100 cd b better. There I cd rep J and jam turn or prob go to river cheaper ($100 less lost).

Yes. Gd mention. I too, knew he was capable of bluffing and check thru ott kind of makes it river call for me.

All gd feedback. I always appreciate that. Everyone seemed to be in line with my thought process so that’s reassuring.

We made the call and he shows me Aces. :|

I was going to post before the results that I think making the call is the correct play but Iím a wuss and Nit is in my name and would probably fold.

I also agree it was a call vs this villian, as played. Hand was well played by the villian, IMO.
A turn bet would have most likely gotten you to a cheaper showdown.

Re: STARTED WITH A $1/$2nl CHALLENGE, NOW WE'RE HERE.

Think it's a good call. He had the absolute top of his range, and that has to happen sometimes when he takes a polarizing river bet sizing.

Just curious, as I don't play anymore. What is the point of betting the turn? What would a turn bet hope to accomplish? Are we turning TT into a bluff by trying to rep a J? Do we think A hi hands are calling? Are we trying to protect ourselves from a river overcard? Betting turn just seems to go against everything I know as a player, unless we are turning it into a bluff, and in that case, we gotta bet turn AND bomb river.

I write this w a morning buzz consisting of enamel paint fumes and couple tokes.
Home remodel work and IU game at noon! Win and we may be in NCAA.

First off, not playing? What?
Small Turn bet for me does a few things:
W betting $100 ott...
-I take control of pot.
-cd rep the J and set up a river jam.
-it blocks his river betting much more of the time w his overpairs. Which cd result to me losing less. *If I check turn he is DEF betting overpairs and I prob lose more than $100.
-it charges him w hands likes AK AQ if he wants to float there.
-it charges him w small pairs or folds out his small pairs.

I donít think I get raised ott too much of the time either. As I believe my hand has a J more times than his. If I get raised, I fold.

I think I cd hv played it better.

Hopefully tesla works out for you...

In the past few years my employer has done a bunch of upgrades to 3 of our local plants and 2 others and the majority of it is for tesla business.

About a month or so ago we had major layoffs because tesla cut a bunch of orders. It hasn't picked back up, and the future isnt looking good either.

We make a lot of the frame and battery aluminum parts.

Maybe it'll turn around for both of us... good luck!

Glad to hear you got out before the drop. Theyíre a one trick pony that will need to eventually be purchased by a bigger manufacturer. Ford made a subtle announcement at the same time of the unveiling yesterday and every other big manufacturer is getting in the electric car business.

I think if we get called by worse hands with the $100 bet, then it's worth it. It is a tough task though to get AA or KK to fold postflop, when there isn't really an obvious draw out there. If you could pull the trigger on a river bluff jam, then you could get him to fold his entire range. But then again, how many players at 1/2 would fold AA on this board?

I do agree that if we bet, we lose value from his bluffs. His A-hi may call a street, but won't bluff at the end. Or - worst case scenario - he floats turn to bet river himself with his entire range. I like the way the hand is played. We just ran into the top of his range, which by definition has to happen when the opponent uses a polarizing bet size.

As for not playing, yup. I have a kid coming in April, and there was a night after I knew about my wife being pregnant that stuck with me. During this night, some guy came to my table and blew through almost $2k in an hour at 1/2, and he had no idea what he was doing. He was influenced by some substance. It was so bad, the manager kicked him out. That night kind of stuck with me, about how that is how I make my living, and it wasn't a lifestyle I wanted my kid to look up to. So now I'm feverishly studying Web Development and making websites for people.

TSLA on my watch big time next week/week after.

That big pink diagonal line has been a key line to watch for many traders...hoping for at least one more good bounce off it.

Iíd rather own NIO at its current price than TSLA.
Tesla has way too many bearish indicators at the moment.

Re: STARTED WITH A $1/$2nl CHALLENGE, NOW WE'RE HERE.

SNAP rehauling their ad capabilities, essentially the only thing that could keep them in business long-term, so may actually be worth keeping an eye on.

Advertisers are leaving Facebook (they took away all of our awesome targeting, something about protecting people's privacy & rights ) and ad dollars are going more and more into Google & video. Twitter is still a long way away, but I've been hearing a lot of good things about Amazon's capabilities. I used them a couple years ago and they were ****ing trash - couldn't track anything.

Not sure how helpful this is, but more money is going into video and mobile (ie text) capabilities. May want to look into cheap video publishers, video advertisers (youtube, google, fb, etc.) and text publishers (twilio is king here).

Just my 2 cents. GL!!

Yeah stocks r fun. I can get my fix and act like I am smart at the same time.

Dude, bro, brah, jambroni...gather in...
the life roll (poker included) is taking serious hits on and off the felt. Send help. Scratch that we never take help. My back, my money, my worries, all of me all of the time. #straight

If we donít go broke from stocks, we may do it from home remodel.

Just a few handles to put on the cabinets once it dries, then dunzo. Next, floors.

Dude I wish I had $65k!
U must hv not seen the most recent update pic. The one where I was shaking as I was posting #7809. Stroke like levels losing $40k in a month and lost half of my investment. The one where it shows $29k current in stocks and a withering life roll.

Same advice applies...your trying to beat a field that uses algorithms and inside info and sometimes the difference in between winning and losing is the nano second advantage gained by being closer to the servers.

I'd love to see u hit another big score but ur risking your freedom, the reverse implied odds are too high
