Have you contemplated scenarios where you are no longer able to play poker? Maybe you start to lose your mind a bit, you physically can't handle the drive/sitting in uncomfortable chair for hours on end, something happens to a loved one & you are needed to help take care of them so you can't spend a large amount of hours at the boat, etc.

How much of your all's current income will Sara & your SS replace? Does she have a pension or retirement plan? If you are living off of all your all's income now (aka- you all aren't really saving now) then how is she ever going to retire?

Will she or you all want to help kids with their education or will you all want to travel once she retires - if so where is this money coming from?

How are you going to get by in x years once Sara stops paying you the monthly rent (or whatever you all are calling it)?

Lol. He said ‘Colonel Sanders called them n******’

Basically he is saying why am I getting heat and the Colonel said worse. Black ppl eat KFC and Colonel called them n****** but they are boycotting my product and all I did was talk about the protests. This was an idiotic move, especially in a conference call. There is nothing to assume. These are his words.

And again he didn’t use the term at anyone just stating something he heard and then was blackmailed by the company he fired in this conference call because he refused to pay up 6 million in hush money.

Somehow I am making it.
not pretty, but still feels gd to know that WE ARE MAKING IT. Plus we able getting n a round of golf each week.
Rayz Tennis Academy has been my savior this year. def glad I decided to take on that new venture this year. It’s way exceeded my expectations.

current position... we can risk one buy-n only right now.
Last month, we cdnt build the roll. The month before that same thing. Prob month before that same as well. Just can not escape Uncle Sam taking me to felt back n April.
So July, as u know, had to end up tossing them in halfway through the month. One thing is sure, I AM NOT risking the money set aside for bills. Midmonth I just cdnt afford to risk the pokers. This, used the RTA $ the last couple of weeks to get us through the eom.
Now new month...$800 from Sara (house&daycare)...and sm RTA $.
Took $100 to buy a sealed up Nike Vapor Driver off FB marketplace. Now we have one $300 max buy to run up. BUT if we lose that $300, it will b all we can afford to lose. Like I said, can’t risk the bill money.. If we bust it, then we just do like we have last few months. Live that #semiretired life and coast to the end of month w remaining funds + RTA.

the run up has to happen to sooner or later. If not, we continue to do this monthly cycle until it does.

Love the full transparency and not judging but why not wait a month on the driver? Did you break your current one or something?

You haven’t missed anything. I finally chop a noon tournament and no picture. New person Dave was gonna do so much better and it stopped after a month.
Yes blocked. Why people think this is something to talk about in the poker room is crazy.

Why they blocked me?...not sure. Sm people can’t take criticism, I guess.

Dave started off strOng and fizzled out. The place is a joke of a poker room. Unless it can b run by the right people, and changes made, it will never live up to its utmost potential.
Altho, I don’t think they even care. Not everyone strives for perfection like myself.

Wanted to get better sooner and cd afford it.
We are making it. The last 3 months have been a test, but we r passing. U don’t know how gd that feels. All the right steps getting in the #semiretired life is payin off.
RTA runs through September so that money coming in won’t b much longer. The poker roll needs to get spun. I believe.

This chief agrees. I am high 80s no matter the clubs right now.

This is what lead me to the change...
Every weekend I been playing w the same group of guys. Gd friend, Ole Tol, decided to get new clubs a month ago. He now hits w the Edge driver and I am noticing he consistently getting 20 more yards off tess. He sold me on the fact that clubs lose their pop over time. Plus the technology always advancing to better performance. In my head, I’m thinking I had his Adams Redline driver for 20 years. Damn that’s a long ass time. It’s time to get a new one.
Running w your philosophy...I opt for a FB marketplace driver. Narrowed it down to a brand new yet older model (2014) Nike Speed Vapor $100 and a preowned $240 M2. This chief also thinks it more him than his arrows, so went w low risk $100 choice.

Had 2 rounds w it and noticed better drives. The adjustments I can utilize on this arrow has helped correct some draw issues.
Sidenote: pga rules say u can’t adjust the club (w special tool) during a round.

The goal this year is to get consistently mid 80s, tips and down.

One of the PGA Tour pros learned that the hard way. Got mad and bent his putter and then tried to fix it. Can't remember if that was a DQ?

$100 would be my limit for a "new" driver as well. I played blades for 20 years, actually got down to a 1 handicap. Finally tried a "new" (used) set that gave me an extra 20 yards with my long irons. So, two sets of irons over 30 years, maybe three drivers, and fifteen putters. (They break easily when you're mad!)

Finding a good wedge and putter are the big stroke savers.

Glad you explained. Before that I thought you probably bought the golf club because you had a fight with your woman over money and you wanted to piss her off.

No judgement about how you spend your cash but this video came to mind:

Thanks guys.

Yep I watched the vid. Straight cash is where it’s at! No borrow!
Like what he said, “if u can’t afford to buy 5; then u shdnt buy 1.”

Well well well it is showtime! After a little hiatus, back n the game.
Can we take this $300 and run it up????

Time to find out how day 1 will treat us

Got down to $130. Called a $20 3bet w 99.
3 way to flop of Q 10 8. P1checks, original 3bettor who has been 3 betting light bets $20, and action on me.
I see his bet on the weak side, mayb pot controlling w AK or maybe he has JJ. I decide to rip in the rest of my stack.
If I can get a fold, awesome, and if not, I hv outs.
He calls w AA

Turn 3
River 4

AA > 99

Guess Ill hollar next month and we try it again.

Darn.

What are the 3bet to $20 range in this game. Nit is in my name so I’d probably fold pre with a $130 stack.

My advice/formula on getting into the high 70s in golf goes like this.

One double bogey per round that is it. No triples.
Hit 8 greens in regulation. (Play those 8 holes even par.)
9 other holes where you don't hit the green play those 4 or 5 over par. Meaning you get up and down around 50% of the time.

Right there you will be 6 or 7 over par(one double and 4 or 5 bogies) That is 78 or 79.

The place most golfers are throwing away shots are around the green. That means plenty of practice for chipping and putting. Try to get half your chips within 3 feet.

Then for putting try what I have been told is a ladder game. Set up 3 foot putt. Stay at that rung until you make 10 in a row. Then move to 6 feet. Rinse and repeat. Find a flat putt to do this. One you will get plenty of confidence in making tons of putts and you add some pressure when you get close to 10 in a row.

Lastly in golf hitting consistent predictable shots is much more important than getting extra yardage.

Putt and chip for money. That helped me be able to get up and down from anywhere (and be a scratch golfer). I've had rounds where I've only hit 2 or 3 GIRs and still shot close to even.
