2016
Attempted to go the whole month of March without talking. Lasted 8 days when I slipped and said, "Oh ****" while playing rummy with my daughter. #NTM led me into trading stocks where I started w $40k and went ran it down to $20k and then back up. Currently took $25k out of the market and have $18k left in the market. It was becoming stressful, so I thought o wd pull out some. Plus I'm getting closer to end of year plan and I can't afford to lose a big chunk of the stock $.
*Didn't put in a lot of hours on the poker table and ended the year $21,759.

2017
$40K Challenge: Attempt 2.
Try to make $40k playing 1/2nl only.
The challenge got cut short on August 22nd when I received a lifetime ban from all Harrah’s properties for vlogging on premises. At that time, I was on pace to achieve this challenge.
Sold my Melody 5 plex. Put that money, and poker money on a penny stock that made me some serious cash. Use that to pay off my mortgage.
Ban was eventually uplifted.

2018.
No debt. No mortgage. Owe tax man 5 figs for profits on ENPH stock and capital gains of Melody. = Little money left over.
Monthly expenses have been lowered, and trying to live a semi retired life. But w little money left over, it feels I’m still trying to survive.

Once we build a decent roll back, the shot takes and the gamble is coming...we don’t bust the short roll first.
Can I hang on?

Thank you. I knew you posted annual summaries, but they are difficult to find when I'm being lazy. Amazing stuff - keep up the good work.

Question...

We were back on that #freeSlotTour...cashed in some comp for free slot play. Had $45 of play, and ended up w $43.75...I’ll take it!

This board came up at a certain casino, and wondering what the optimal “hold” is here.
Do I hold Aces or hold Royal Flush Draw (w the chance to also pair up)?

Believe optimal play is to hold high hand but it’s close 6 vs. 7 on what to hold from this strategy below from Wizard of Odds.. If your willing to add a little variance for a chance at a big hit keep the 3 to a royal flush.

Less variance play is to hold the AA, but you're already free rolling! Let's go for the royal baby!

W half my life roll in this kamikaze game, I felt I shd just take a decent win and leave. If I was rolled more proper, I wd hv never left that game. For now tho, it’s all about accumulating Ws.

Shouts to @Tobedecided who crushed the game.
He isn't lying...if people only knew what goes on in the streets of HSI $1/$2. I got in the game when they were playing head's up bought in for $300, then put $200 more on the table and at my high point had ran it up to $4750. Gave back $900 in the last 45 minutes to a wealthy fun player who bought in for half my stack. Finished +$3,117 on 12.25 hours.

Great playing with you...love following the story.

Knowing I was leaving, I probably should have just folded but I love to get information on people...this time the info cost me more than normal.

As I was leaving he asked if I would sell him two stacks of green for a pumpkin he had in his pocket. I look forward to the next time we play.

Had to get a new poker tracking app. Apparently the other wanted to charge me $4.99 to continue on. No thanks. Uploaded another called Poker Log.

Played 1 combined hour the last 2 days. Blame it on the #semiretirement life.

$115 away from 2k Mark this month. Anything extra we shot take. Let’s see if we can exceed 2k.

Home now after a 48min sesh. Gonna work on this putting green.

Ftr, when I transferred all data over to new app. I made sure everything was same and my hours logged identical. Although, the start time and end time are not. It was easier to put start time on an even 11a or 12p, and add my time from that.
Ex on 5/10 I played 5hrs 34 mins. So entered 12p for start time on new app and ended 5:34p. It was easier.

GL, mane. I'm thinking of changing apps too since I have the one you previously had. Did you have to manually enter in each session to the new one or was it all able to be transferred once?

Yeah I’m guessing the other had 10 free sessions then a charge.
Manually entered each one. Wasn’t that bad. Wrote down my hours played and amount won/loss from old app on paper; then entered those numbers into new app. Wish I still had Poker Journal but I can’t find it anywhere or even App Store.

The flags have arrived.
Went w 3 of them, cup pull out (so u don’t hv to bend over to grab the balls), blue flags to match pool.
Dimensions of green are set to 20’ x 30’.

Making a good app isn't easy and takes time and talent. Consider actually paying the pittance if you like an app.

Agreed. I hope you aren't pick an app based off of it is free or not. If one app is better than the others you should choose it. You are running a ~$40k/yr business and you shouldn't refuses to invest $5 or $10 in something that could grow your business.

I use the app, paid the 6 bucks for the unlimited cash game and another 6 for the unlimited tournament features. I like it. Used it for years.
