anyone getting that much money back from the fed each year needs to rethink their deductions/with-holdings . My fed refund this year is $4. The only thing better would have been me owing them $4.

I withheld additional from my paycheck for the first 8-9 months of the year, still can't figure out my reasoning so my end ending up being huge. But my wifes balanced us out a little bit. I'd still like to be under $1k return if possible, but I'd rather get a refund than owe any.

Did you adjust your own withholdings? I'm assuming you didn't just stick to the default from your employer?

I have been with my employer (Holdem Manager) for nearly 10 years so I have had plenty of time to gradually adjust my with-holdings at the start of each year (open enrollment period each year = time to adjust if necessary) until I finally got it to the point where I owe or get back <$100 total. If you get a return this year adjust (increase) your dependents by 1 and see how you do next year. I couldn't even tell you how many I claim for with-holding (2, I think/maybe) all I know is I got no dependents and instead of giving the gov $100/mo and getting it back later, I instead give then $0.25c/month.

Good advice - thanks! I'm going to try to work mainly on keeping track of all my deductions so I don't just have to take the standard. I usually have some 1099-misc which throws me off every year so I try to withhold extra just in case.

This has been the third time of me showing up trying to get answers.

First time, as u know, didn’t hv the letter and pic wasn’t gd enough.

Second time (not sure if I ever discussed on here), went there w letter and I still wasn’t updated in system. Talked to security personnel and they said it wd b updated by the eod. Long story short, never was.

Third time, today tried to renew my expired tr card and cdnt. System showed I was banned. Talked to a few people and after 45 mins it was finally resolved. My TR card was renewed, $50 food comp for my troubles. *Was gonna take a pic for this thread showing #ft, but picture crime don’t play.

The reason I ventured that way today was because all my comp would expire next week.
Side note: If u don’t hv activity on ur Total Rewards Card for 6 consecutive months; then u lose all of it.
I didn’t want to lose my comp I established so got me some free slot play and doubled up. *i wd take a pic of this too for the thread showing #ft, but phone crime carries a life sentence.
