Re: STARTED WITH A $1/$2nl CHALLENGE, NOW WE'RE HERE.

After seeing the thousands I owe so far to Uncle Sam, I’m thinking it may not be wise to play that MSPT tourney next week. We r gonna hv to start setting more aside for these taxes. I shdnt be taking risk on Ts until we get in the clear financially.
These current times are thin ice. Can’t afford to hv any cracks. Must take all the right steps to get through. For now, keep grinding, and saving.
To get some extra flow, I may sell some of my possessions. Maybe I cd sell my Poker Voogger Game Scooter? Congo drums? Mics and Amps? Safe to say, I won’t b dropping any albums any time soon. An extra grand wd go a long way right now!!

Just thinking and game planning ahead.

Wait until you see the taxes youíll pay on capital gains from your stocks.

Iím sure you can plug that in as well since you can look up purchase and sale prices.

Trust me, I know.
Made $55k on The Melody and everyone here was right. I got taxed on those gains.
ENPH will prob b around the same since I made just about as much.

Already listed some musical items. $300 for all of this...

Gonna hang on to the PVG Scooter for now, but may have to let it go.

Also, plan on having a yard sale in April.

Trying to pay off these taxes without getting a small loan AND still having a roll to play with.
The ďsell itemsĒ will help. Not a lot, but every little bit helps at this point.

Trying times. Adversity. Taking every step possible.

I am far from a tax expert but you might be able to file for an extension to give yourself some more time

What's up Ray ...

Lurked this thread for quite a while, and have quite enjoyed the content.

Although I had normally gone to Tunica, I made the shorter trip to HSI a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised by both the action and the staff.

Went back this week and played for a few days more ....

Unfortunately, the weather affected the weekend turnout, but the games were still fairly decent ...

Asked around about ya ... apparently you are a bit infamous with the floor lol.

I made a point to take multiple pics of my stacks throughout my play over a few days, regularly updating a discord channel I belong to.

Not one word was ever said to me about photographing at the table. Granted, I didn't sit and film for minutes at a time or anything, but it was pretty obvious what I was doing, and that I had not just my stack, but the whole table within frame. I got looks, but no comments.

None of that surprises me. So many players take pics and post them on their FB, but I wd b banned from all Harrahs properties if I did the same.
Iím about to get back to that Shoe and start taking all the monies again.

can confirm this is possible (pushes your tax filing deadline back to Oct. 15 or 21). There are small penalties if you owe more than you paid in i.e. Rayz would because I doubt he was making quarterly estimated tax payments as a self-employed individual...BUT the penalties are very small.

I'm not a tax professional but one of my majors was accounting and I'm a serial hustler so I've had hella tax liabilities / learning along the way. I've actually used the extension the last 2 years and had 0 penalties because I was actually due a Tax-Refund for overpaying :/

Curious, did you have all of that equipment already on hand? Wonder how much a set-up would run, I'd love to make some cool shirts

PS - looking good!

No. Purchased it at Hobby Lobby for $70. It was something I wanted for a while. May start making some creative unique shirts for my own wardrobe.
Itís a fun little process. I am enjoying it so far.

Re: STARTED WITH A $1/$2nl CHALLENGE, NOW WE'RE HERE.

Dear Diary,
I prob shdnt hv bought the Speedball Screen Print. The money continues to be tight and realzinf taxes may send me back to 0.

Dear 2+2,
I can not afford to take any shots until we get through our tax situation. Yes, I realize Iím already defaulting on my initial 2018 plan. Things change course and one shd man up to realize it.
The weight on my shoulders is getting heavier. We try.

Dear me,
Take everything u have and get this paid off. Total taxes looks to be right around the 5 fig mark. The money wall sits around 6k, tennis savings are $1,100 = just north of 7k. Sara owes me 5k. So that puts me around 12kish. I can pay this off, but left w nothing. Puts me in a bad spot.
One thing I know is, I shd back way off on the pokerz and coast this $ through tax season. Putting any $ at risk right now may not be wisest move.

You should be thinking/doing the exact opposite. Poker is your job is it not? You should be grinding cash and putting in as many hours as you possibly can right now, even if its 50-60 hrs a week!

That's what I was thinking. Time to "grind" and put in as much volume as possible and start building the roll now for post tax season.

Important topic ^. Something I want to address.
Get to it later. On the clock right now w a honey do list that has lasted all day.

It was 50/50 decision.

Re: STARTED WITH A $1/$2nl CHALLENGE, NOW WE'RE HERE.

So my oldest is taking the office/music room down in the basement. Shay is taking her room, and Knox is taking Shayz. Today has been painting those rooms and moving all the kids belongings to those rooms.

Btw, sold the Bongos for $160 today! Money to the fund! Every little bit helps at this point!

K. So why do I not just grind away? Gd question. It’s the matter of 2 sides. One side is put in the volume and continue to build. Other side is, don’t risk what u have currently and pay off taxes while u hv it. The money is there now. Take the sure thing.
This is what I was 50/50 on. The last week I been mulling this over, pondering my options. My main goal is paying off Sammie and hv some ends left over to grind on. I think I can achieve this now.

Sara is filing first week of February.
At that time, I can get that 5k she owes me (pool agreement). Then I will file using my $6k money wall roll and the 5k to pay off Sammie.

*We always split our dependents and daycare $ that we get back on taxes. Sara files all that on hers and pays me half. I guess around $1k a child and few hundo back from daycare. So prob 2k ish for me.
This $ plus whatever money I hv on me at the time will b all I hv to work w post taxes.

So why not continue to grind?
Answer is simple, I desperately want to get this tax monkey off my back, and pay it in full. I don’t wanna risk that money right now on the pokerz. Chances are I wdnt have a losing next couple weeks, but u never know. I usually average 1 losing month a year and u never know when variance will rear it’s head. Even though I have to use my money wall poker roll, I do hv the money now to take care of it. I think it’s the wise choice.

Just taking 2 weeks off. Gonna pay Sam. Then grind w a small 2k roll and hopefully don’t go bust.
