It's the headphone wearing grinders watching movies on their iPad's only looking up to play a hand as if the other 8 players at the table don't exist that are bad for the game. I get that it was a live stream, but all it takes is one or two fun players to make a game entertaining for the people who are into that. It seemed like a good balance to me.
Personally I'd prefer to see you guys gunning for each other and watching poker at it's highest level vs a circus act. I realize that doesn't appeal to the general public/casual fan, but really how many casual fans are watching a 4 hour live stream? I think most watched because they had a dog in the fight(their favorite vlogger), and just wanted to see you guys in action.
As far as being a nit, I didn't see you get many playable hands other than the premiums. No suited connectors, small pockets pairs, etc. And when you did get the J10s out of the BB you 3bet using your image to your advantage. That is prob at the bottom of most people's 3bet range in that spot. Not exactly the nittiest play, and most would probably just complete there. When I saw you limp AA/KK at first I was like WTF is Ray doing? And then I instantly realized your strategy with all the action players to your left. I would rarely advise doing this, or do it myself, but if you are going to do it, this was the perfect game to do it in. You don't always have to take the conventional line, and it was the game dynamics/adjusting to game flow that dictated it. Unfortunately it backfired, but you got away cheap in a spot where most people wouldn't be able to let it go. Sure you could have peeled one more street, but multi-way vs such wide ranges you more often than not aren't going to be good there. I often find myself in awkward spots in early position with big pocket pairs, because 3betting there looks so strong. The only mistake I really saw, which was extremely small and insignificant was not completing in the BB with J10o. You got max value with QQ vs Boski. And in general played a solid/low variance game which proved effective.
You did a great job representing 9to5poker imo, and went above and beyond what I could have asked for.
Anyways just my unbiased, objective 2 cents as a fan first and foremost, and what I took from watching the game. I think the Villain aspect adds to the dynamic and storyline for a future game, and personally I hope they include you in it for that fact alone as it would add to the entertainment factor.
I agree w most of this. Not just saying that because ur my sponsor, but only because we seem to b in line w our thoughts.
The banter back and forth between Charles and myself is a bit of a marketable ploy, but majority of it not. Just wanted to add a little spice while getting my point across. W that said & my hat bill low, I stand behind everything I said/say.
I thought I flatted AA/KK instead of limped, but not really a big difference. 2 spots I thought wd go one way and went another.
I was there to win instead of putting on a show. If I was a viewer, I wd rather watch high level poker (A game) w bigger stakes, instead of dumbing it down. Thats just me tho.
I been a introvert/anti social guy all my life. Matter of fact, it says this very thing on page 1 post 1 (background) of this very thread. I also think cats are skittish, played as high as 25/50nl, outside box thinker, enjoy the pressure, tennis junkie, green thumb, etc.
I cdnt hv asked for a better sponsor. I'm glad Justin used your logo like he said he wd. That was awesome. I tried my best. Never claimed to b the best Vlogger, but wanted to represent 9to5 and 2+2 the best I cd.
Thank you R.
