Butterfly your winrate has been much higher than I expected was possible for a 1/2 player over even a decent amount of hrs. Although the horseshoe SI has a much nicer dianamic than cinci. Youve made me think about adding more NLHE to my play other than the usual PLO. Nice Job!

You have to remember...our 1/2NLH is different than others. I had 6 $1K+ stacks at my table yesterday.

There was also $445 in straddles in a one hour period (21 hands).

And there's no reason why our Horseshoe in Cincy shouldn't have the same. We need to get on this IMO. I'll be down there tomorrow and will have a talk with management. I encourage all Cincy guys to do the same. Keep hounding them.

Oh, and refreshing thread BTW. It's real. It's made by an actual adult and not a degenerate hobo basement dweller. As a real world adult I really appreciate it. If that statement offends some youngsters I really don't care.

2/5 at cincy has similar avg stacks but of course not the straddles. Personally I don't like playing 1/2 that deep or be at a table that is in a straddle war and have to make a decision for my stack if I want to play a hand.

@atf2190 thanks for checking out the thread. I'm glad u found it a gd read.
@plochrisc thanks man.
@fluke22 I agree. I tell people all the time that these 1/2 games at HSI r some of the best around. If I had to make any changes to the game it wd b allowing players to buy in for 3/4 the big stack instead of half. The straddles and $300 max up to half the big stack makes these games great.
@stevesmith1980 aka "real worl adult" - yeah I hate 1/2 games that r only a $200 max! I loved playing Hollywood 1/3 w $500 max buyn, but HCO killed that game when they opened. The only thing I like about Cincy is the 5/10nlhe $2000 cap. I plan on playing that game next year after challenge is completed and roll is up. I hate the fact that u can only buyn for a 100bbs on the other games tho. Also, thanks for encouraging words. Much appreciated!
@eifersichtig nice first post on this thread!
@boileref - wd u rather play 1/3 $500max buy (like hollywd) or 2/5 $500 max buy? Just curious.
@parellflupex and @moaurlawn and the rest of u 2+2ers I hope u guys CRUSH this week at the tables.
After taking the weekend off, ill be clocking in tomorrow morning and prob b on the first 1/2nhle table that opens up. Although, It seems that the first 1/2table that opens the day is usually pretty sucky! The 2nd table is usually better. Best scenario, a game goes through the night which usually has some gamblers and deep stacks. Anyways gl to all in 2013!!

I personally like the straddle at hsi. Someone straddling $50 on button is > $5 utg. Which is just so stupid.

I LOSE TODAY -$190.
I think my best hand today was one pair. Just plain card dead, and nothing going my way. It was a very boring day, and just blah, blah, blah, blah....blah. I hate starting out the month in the hole. UGH. But as always, I just keep showing up...Tomorrow is another day.
Big Ups to @Fluke22 crushing today. Nice Job man!

7 hrs of 1/2 and 2/5 at Horseshoe Cincy today for +816. Can't wait til the winter for when I can play 5 days a week. Got a lawn care biz to run right now. I can only get down a few times a month. Games are soft. I recommend you come on down for the WSOP circuit in Sept. I'll buy you a drink.

also curious do you regularly straddle? I have little experience with the button straddle and was curious if you think it's +-ev? Rarely do I ever straddle UTG for obvious reasons unless I get bored

Hi man,

Good to see someone grinding @ horseshoe! I used to frequent here (one in Hammond, right?) so we might have played each other, although I haven't really played much in 2013. I still think it'd be nice if we can talk some poker and hang out, etc., so please PM me if interested.

Oh, and I'm subbing this. Best of luck to you!

I did play the Sunday before Memorial day, but I did not play PLO and I did not just start the biz. I've been doin it for a decade.

I won't play the PLO with you sharks. I'll stick to the easy NLHE games, thanks!

I had this discussion w my poker buddies a few months back, and the majority seemed to think its +ev otb. I disagreed, and for my personal playing style I only think its neutral to +ev on tight tables. On loose aggro tables I will not straddle from anywhere, but on tight nitty tables I will straddle otb and sometimes COff to try to exploit the nits and pick up the orphaned pots. Through the yrs of playing i never been a big proponent of the straddle on aggro tables. What Im finding out from my experience is that when I do straddle at tight tables it can be neutral to +ev, and when I choose not to at aggro tables it gives me an image that I'm not willing to gamble. Which in turn helps my bluffs work better post flop. In conclusion, I think it has a lot to do with ur image, and how people perceive u. The straddle works gd for some, and not for others depending on style. For me personally, the table I playing at dictates whether I will straddle or not. Even at tight tables, I still say Neutral to slightly +ev
Getting ready to swing through Mac shack for some breakfast, then grind. Trying to erase yesterday's $190 loss from my memory w a gd positive sesh.

imo it's +EV if everyone at the table is straddling because you're getting sub par players to commit more of there money thus building the pot every hand. I think it's pretty obvious that if everyone's not straddling at the table and you're 1 of 2 or 3 people that are, it's -EV because you become exploitable. Upon reading you're post I'm willing to concede that it can help your image at nitty tables which can in turn help your bluffs. However, if you come across a decent enough player, I think it will quickly turn -EV.
