It's been awhile since I posted last. Got a new job and didn't have enough time to play or study much so basically took a few weeks off from poker.

ACR has honestly been the hardest site to play on for me out of 5 sites and I am making the decision to only play there under 2 conditions.

1] I am playing my A+ game and 100% not worried about short term results

2] No traffic in early early mornings (I have A LOT of downtime at work, so I am taking in a laptop and playing and/or studying when I can. Average like 3-5 hours of free time per day)

For now I dropped down stakes for zoom and I am playing on Ignition and will prioritize playing there to continue to build my BR.

IGNITION 40K SAMPLE @ 5NL ZONE

Still not really playing any reg tables. I am running a few buy ins under EV on the reg tables over a small sample and haven't had any motivation or incentive to switch to them.

I am still looking for a study group/mentor if anyone has any interest in that.

Update on studies...

Still going through Upswing Lab material and it finally is starting to feel like the dots are connecting.

Also I am trying to listen to at least 30 minutes or so of The Mental Game of Poker and that might not seem like much, but I feel a huge difference on and off the tables so I am going to keep using that as my morning commute noise.

5nl zone results from 6/1 to present

10nl 6 max results from 6/1 to present. Two 500 hand sessions over that time frame (lol)

I don't think my mental is strong enough to handle 10BI swings when my bankroll is moving up at 20BI won at a stake. (My initial guidelines when I set out) I'm going to adjust that quite a bit and I want to be somewhere closer to having 50 buy ins for the stakes that I am regularly playing at ($500 for 10nl, $1,250 for 25nl, etc). Taking shots when BR is around 75 to 85 buy ins.

Currently my BR is about 80 BIs so I'm there and trying to convince myself to go. It feels like it was such a grind to get here but if I don't try to push through then I might as well quit.

I'm far from a great player, but I have been feeling pretty good about playing lately. I try to be very honest about tilting and how I played. Still putting time into the Mental Game of Poker and Upswing (or Poker with Riske or GTO wizard videos or play and explains). Enjoying the journey of learning again, just have a small case of the "don't want to lose what feels like I worked so hard to get"... even though it's basically pocket change.

Something I learned about myself... I don't like to be a loser, I have some innate drive to not want to lose even if the stakes are meaningless.

Glad I moved down to spam 5nl zone on Ignition. It's been a consistent climb upwards. Also finished the first listen-through of The Mental Game of Poker at the end of the week.

Lets start off with Global Poker. I left about $10 on the site when I last cashed out to play on other sites after going on a little downswing. Ran up $10 to $140 plus $20 in RB over about 2 weeks playing 1-2 hours early morning. Nice bump to confidence to build up a little BR again on that site without having to deposit.

ACR is breakeven over a few thousand hands. Have a little bit in rakeback and if I wanted to put all my time into hitting The Beast, I could probably earn the $50 a week plus RB. I'd probably be breakeven or losing on the tables still though. I like a lot of things about ACR, I just don't like how it feels like I just got back from war every time I play on it. I really am considering self banning from ACR for something like a few months so I'm not tempted to play there. Most importantly, it's the site where I have the lowest winrate and that should be reason enough. Probably going to withdraw what I have there and put somewhere else.

Ignition, we are killing it. I think. Still waiting to be able to download the full HH from the week but I included a little snippet. BR was sitting around 95 buyins for 10nl so I decided to split 5nl zone and 25nl zone tables last night to shot take. Last time it didn't go well at 20nl tables on Global.

This time we ended up tripling up in less than an hour. It was really late at night and I had already put in like 6 hours at 5nl zone so I was happy to take a quick profit and bounce.

Very comfortably rolled for 10nl zoom or reg tables with over 100 buy ins. Next goal is get my Bankroll up to $1,250 and prepare to move out of 10nl and be playing in the 25nl streets as my normal stakes.

ACR this morning.

Last week, I had turned around the downswing and ran up about 4-5 buy ins over a few 1 hour sessions. End of that week, we had a bad beat in a 200bb pot which led to tilt and we ended the week breakeven.

After finishing The Mental Game of Poker, I thought about some ways I get tilted. I think subconsciously I am trying to lose on ACR. Revenge, entitlement, bad beat tilt are definitely, or I should say WAS definitely affecting me and causing really odd and erratic play. I'm not going to self ban from ACR, instead I am going to use it as probably my best tool to recognize tilt and overcome it. I still want to put most of my volume into Ignition and Global but ACR is still on the table too.

Back to the weekend/start of this week... Played a few hands this weekend and able to build up a buy in or 2 and felt happy about my level of play. Today, what a wild session. Ill make a separate post for the big pots but ending with one buy in up over 5-600 hands. So currently coming back with 3 buy ins from the deep dark hole we dug. Got some in RB in not including yet too.

Overall I feel like I am playing on an entire different level than 2-3 weeks ago. I think this is a good thing.

50,000 hands played on Ignition at 5nl zone. Had an 19 BI downswing at one point.
2 winning samples down at 50k hands each. ACR is actually approaching another 15k hand mark or so soon, but that sample isn't that pretty. I'm rolled for 25nl and I suppose it is kinda comfortable at over 40 buy ins. I still have some stage fright about getting on the tables. Here is the small session I put in as a shot take.

Not the best day so far on the tables. Getting owned. Not really finding tilt though in the form of anger/revenge. Might be on some winners tilt from the last 2 weeks. Might also sense some other forms of tilt but it's not enough to really throw me out of focus. Probably playing a little out of line, but I am also trying to push out of my comfort zone. Here's some hands, looking for some feedback.

I was prepared to shove the river, brain went blank when the 8 hit the river. With AK on the board and turn river pairing itself, I think most people are going to call with almost any A and hope for a chop. I think that is why I shut down on the river, I figured I lost anyway and would be throwing away another 100bbs if I did choose to shove. Put in GTOwiz and my sizings are a little off, but I think the line was fine if I shoved river. I don't like the check on river.

Used my entire timebank on this one. I probably sound like such a fish lol idc. I was actually perfectly fine with this fold here, a few weeks ago I would never fold this spot. I don't have a specific hand I would put villain on here but I feel if I didn't raise all in on the turn, then I have to fold on Q/K rivers for sure. Happy to put this into the solver and see it wasn't that bad, perhaps a little loose Preflop.

Poker can be really tough when, right out of the gate, start losing a few buy ins. Took a walk, made the last post and put hands into the solver to quickly check how hard I am punting. Turned out wasn't as bad as I thought although could clean up a lot. Went back in and was able to make a nice comeback to almost even as I write this.

I seem to play MUCH better, when I 4-table blitz. Almost every single one of my big (for me) runups, happen when I have 4 tables going, and I have just as bad or worse downswings while only holding 2 tables open.

Redline is so bad. Not sure what to do about it yet. Ignition and global redline is nowhere near this bad, and blue line is same or better giving me much better winrate. I still want to have a better winrate on ACR.

Must be sun running at $25nl tables. Another BI up over a few hundred hands. Total +4 BIs over <1k hands. Not bad for a shot take, reg tables are looking more juicy every time I come back to them. Although running 6 BI under EV on ACR 10nl reg tables.

ACR the last 10k hands I am running 9 BI under EV at 10nl blitz. Frustrating, but whatever. I'm breakeven at 10nl blitz there when I include rakeback. Global poker kind of the same thing, breakeven this week but actually making a little $ because of the rakeback there also. So far not unhappy with the start of this week. Bankroll is still swelling and has been hitting new highs each day. Netting something like +$100 a week for the last 3 weeks. Something like 20-25 BIs over 85 for 10nl so really have no excuse now to not hold down 1-2 25nl tables while playing.
08-03-2023 , 12:18 PM
+5 buy ins in total now after a clean 1 hour sesh. Would love to be able to grind out more volume but I'm really also just happy I have free time at my job to play. Better than nothing at all. Ran under EV today on the 25nl tables but BR is still steadily growing. Getting very close to be able to settle in as a reg at 25nl. Been a fantastic feeling the last few weeks after feeling stuck for a while. Was looking forward to more progress then and I am still looking forward to becoming better and more progress!

Here's my ignition graph (above) for only time played while at work (I use pt4 on my laptop then download a day or so later on my pc). There's a massive difference in RED line on ACR... here's my ACR graph (below), also only displaying hands I played during work hours.

Here's my stats for both sites below. ACR stats are the 2 top excerpts and Ignition are the 2 bottom ones.
08-03-2023 , 06:21 PM

Here is the ACR graph I have on my pc. Still haven't merged databases yet. I am winning over 75,000 hands... Just barely. I'm happy with this result. I am going to move on from ACR blitz. I will probably withdraw from the site. I am running over 10 buy ins under EV at the reg tables there for 10nl as well. Below I will also post my all time Ignition graph. I almost exclusively played 10nl blitz on ACR. The Ignition graph includes 5nl zone, 25nl reg/zone, 50nl reg. You can find the 5nl zone (most hands in sample) early in the thread. Almost the same amount of hands, however, actually leaving with profits on Ignition. The bloated upticks are a shot I took at 50nl because I had just ran up $20 or something on WSOP to $300-400 on the 50nl tables there. Just ended up really lucky and sunning almost 10 buyins between the sites. New month, lets see what damage we can do on Ignition and Global this month.

08-03-2023 , 06:25 PM

Combined graph ACR and Ignition... Would be nice if I could include WSOP and Global graphs.
08-04-2023 , 01:23 PM
Played about 4 hours or so on Global this morning, breaking even for the day. Not unhappy with this. I sat two 10nl tables and two 20nl tables. Honestly the deck was against all day, it's fine. Not going to win every single day, which we pretty much have for the last 3 weeks. Bankroll went from something around $600-$700 to now $1200. Got a nice bump this week, continuing the $100 a week profits.

After lunch I came back and hopped on Ignition. Again, two 10nl tables and two 25nl tables. And again, stacked some players and over the course of about an hour managed to build up almost 3 buyins at 25nl and broke even at the 10nl tables. I am now only $50 to my next goal which is getting the bankroll to $1,250 and preparing to 4 table 25nl/20nl on global. Sometimes progress can come very quickly when only looking at dollar amounts, this is a little overwhelming to me and I think something that holds me back. When I get closer to the end of a goal or realizing a goal, I get something akin to stage freight of accepting the reality. It's like I set out to do it, get to the front door, and the door opens but I can't move my legs or I stumble and fall backwards. I should try to look for some material talking about this part of the goal process.

Anyway... feels great to be putting in the hands, have a lot of room to improve and really excited because this may put me back on track to reaching 50nl by the end of the year. It's a little daunting see how fast the roll can go up from the 25nl tables... Hopefully I can hold it together when things aren't going my way. Looking to be doing another listen through of The Mental Game of Poker.

The hands are pretty boring from today. Just got lucky.

I was checking out old graphs from a while back, I used to play 10nl on Betonline but blew an early bankroll (only $100 and like 60 of that I blew on the casino before I had BR management at all). I actually ran up the account back then to over $300 playing. Tried out zoom after I felt confident and got absolutely smacked and lost $200 at those tabels. Gave up on the site, thought I was the unluckiest player. Also pt4 didn't record the zoom hands correctly or in its own category so it completely skewed my graph. Lost hands and folded hands did not record, but won hands did... so it was like 4,000bbs in 50 hands and I didn't want to deal with it so I just stopped using the site.

It obviously had to be uber soft if I was able to beat the reg tables back then so I went back and deposited 10 buy ins (adding $100 to the bankroll total, which I am fine with because I technically have $500 sitting aside that is profit from before that I never redeposited). There's the graph for today, played about 7 hours and towards the end I think it is clear that I was losing focus so I just ended the session and closed out. Might play a few more hundred hands later but for now going to chill. I will put some volume into Betonline if I can sustain a good winrate. I am thinking get the account so about $200-$250 then move up into 25nl on here, this will give me a chance to feel it out. Still including this into my BR so effective BR in play is looking decent at $1,308. A nice jump from just a month ago!

Lost a little on Global some days ago sometime, something like 4-5 buyins playing PLO so today on Betonline pretty much negated that nonsense. Lost 80bbs at PLO on Betonline today too so maybe just take this as a sign to stop indulging in PLO for now.

Biggest pots today, 2 bluffs and 2 value... Figoor it oat

+$50 on Global in 2 hour session. Started 4 10nl tables for a bit then switched to two 10nl and two 20nl. Ended up doing well on all tables.

BR-$1,363

Something that I think has been really helping me stay focused and not second guessing myself so much and out leveling myself is tagging hands and checking back spots where my mind went blank or I felt like I was unsure what to do. Also just going back through the biggest pots and seeing how many blunders I make and trying to stay honest about it. It's kinda like fitness in this way, it's a battle against yourself. You can hurt yourself by lying, or build yourself and grow with honesty.

Gotta be running pretty hot, we aren't finding many losing days. Not complaining.

Just wanted to make a note.

The $1,250 goal was hit last night if we don't include the $100 deposit so cheers for small goals and looks like I'm officially rolled to be loading up $25 tables with over 50 buy ins for the stake.

Next goal is going to be $1,875 for 75 buy ins at 25nl and that will give me 37.5 buy ins to shot take at 50nl.

Donked off the Betonline part of the roll... just ignore it even happened. This is why I stayed away from Betonline the first time lol

On another note, up a few buy ins at 25nl on Ignition. And that's also after being down 2 buyins from coolers too. I'm stretched out over too many sites and not adapting to any one in particular to play at my best. I'm not putting anymore money anywhere other than Ignition for now. What is on Global Poker can stay there however. I clearly have an edge on these 2 sites and I need to strongly consider strictly playing only on them

25nl tables are going swimmingly... Only got about an hour in today at work but it went better the longer the session went. Started out with a bad beat.

Sticking to ignition seems like the most +ev decision right now for me
08-10-2023 , 04:29 PM
Haven't had free time for a few days other than small spurts so I don't have much progress to report, but I can put together something. I have a graph for the current shot take but it won't include zone games because that is a super small sample but I am +$65 on Ignition zone 25nl. The regular tables however I will show the graph for.

I also have won $45 on ACR on the 25nl tables over a super small sample too before I withdrew from the site. In total $280 won at 25nl and equaling 11 buy ins. If I hadn't donked off the Betonline roll and also lost about $50-60 on Global recently but on random tables (plo, pineapple), I would be over halfway to sitting 50nl. Instead, we are sitting around $1,275 and even though we are winning quite a lot at 25nl... the roll is breakeven for the most part. I'm not upset about the setback. I'm almost more excited than before to play.
