I hope you aren't financially insolvent in other areas of your life. I can't help but read this and think you have a serious gambling problem if you are selling your bike for a buy in.

Please re-think your life priorities.

When ya gonna b #fulltransparency tthread, gotta expect some honest criticism. I don’t mind. This fuels the fire.
After my long trek, didn’t ride the bike much. Sold it today for pretty much what I bought it for last year. If I didn’t buyn w the $220 from the bike, I wd have from the wallet. I wd do it again 10x over. Myself has been my greatest investment and any spare money I can get my hands on, I’ll try to build from that. My poker abilities has yielded into every asset I own today.
If I cd stop a Q landing ott when my KK has all the money in against AQ on a Q hi flop, I wd. If my overpair cd fade a flush draw when all the money is in otf, I wd. What I am saying is, these kind of beats have been happening at a higher rate than the norm in last 3 weeks. I know it will work out. i believe in myslef. any resources I can use, I will. Can’t take poker day to day. Stay tuned.

2016
Attempted to go the whole month of March without talking. Lasted 8 days when I slipped and said, "Oh ****" while playing rummy with my daughter. No Talk March #NTM oddly led me into trading stocks where I started w $40k and ran it down to $20k and then back up. We toyed around trading on the daily, and learning the stock game.
*Didn't put in a lot of hours on the poker table and ended the year $21,759.

2017
$40K Challenge: Attempt 2.
Try to make $40k playing 1/2nl only.
The challenge got cut short on August 22nd when I received a lifetime ban from all Harrah’s properties for vlogging on premises. At that time, I was on pace to achieve this challenge.
Sold my Melody 5 plex. Put that money, and poker money on a penny stock that made me some serious cash. Use that to pay off my mortgage.
Ban was eventually uplifted.

2018.
No debt. No mortgage. Paid tax man 5 figs for profits on ENPH stock and capital gains of Melody. = Little money left over.
Monthly expenses have been lowered, and trying to live a semi retired life. But w little money left, it feels I’m still trying to survive.
#TSLA hunting #MoneyWall #$200toTesla
Sold some few things (road bike, amp, microphone, bongos) to keep from getting a loan. Money has been strapped ever since paying Uncle Sam, but we hv kept our head above water. To boot, has been the worse poker year since we started this thread.
Once we build a decent roll back, the shot takes and the gamble is coming.
I am utmost confident that we will be in the $50KTesla range by end of next year.

Yes.
I honestly feel I shd b close to this amount by the end of next year.
Whether we buy a Model 3 at that time, or wait for production on the VW Id Buzz is another story.
The fact is, our next huge purchase has to b a new whip. Truck has 250k miles.

Sooner or later, the money is gonna pile up.
I know I been playing gd, and know this neg variance is temp. Been in this game for 20 years, and not sweating a thing.
Nothing worth it, comes easy. Even Keel during the gd and the bad.

I hope when you wrote this you were just having a bad day (and you are having a better day today) and you are new to the thread. Our hero makes a lot of stupid financial decisions, but a serious gambling problem doesn't appear to be one.

GL today Rayz, but I have wonder if it is even worth going to Jack's for you. I live in Northern Kentucky, so I have been to both rooms, but live much closer to Jack's and frequent it often. However, it has to be 100+ miles each way for you to drive. With an older truck I can't imagine you getting 20 miles per gallon, so it is going to cost you 10+ gallons of gas at ~$3.00 per gallon, or $30 just to drive round trip. Throw on top of that you being in the car for 3.5 hours not making any money.

If you went to HSI would you knock 3 hours off the commute? If so at the $20+ hourly that you appear to have you are costing yourself $60+ by being in the car as compared to at the table. So you are essentially spending ~$100 to go sit in a game for 8 hours to make $160. In a nitty 1-2 game with more shallow stacks on a promo day is your hourly comparable at Jack's to what it would be in a deeper game at HSI? Not to mention, since you have to go back to pick up the $160 there is going to be a time that you are spending the $30 in gas and giving up ~3 hours of play at the tables and not get $160, so essentially one of the times you are effectively spending $60 in gas and giving up $120+ in expected hourly by not being in a game during your drives to get $160.

So if you get $160 4 times you are actually spending $150ish in gas and costing yourself ~15 hours in game play, which would be $300+ at your hourly to collect $640 in cash. That is not even $200 and if you are getting more like 16 miles per gallon and your hourly is $25/hr you would be at ~$550 in cost to get $640. Over those 32 hours of game play your hourly at HSI would only need to be $3 higher than at Jack's to be break even and if the difference is higher you are costing yourself money by making the drive. Not to mention additional wear and tear on your vehicle.

I hv never in my life bought a new car. It’s such a horrible investment!
Even my Jaguar that I bought back in 2004 when poker was like picking up a paycheck, was previously owned.

Now we #semiretired so now we don’t worry much about these things. We living life.

Is this a check behind otr, or do we bet here?

V: solid reg, great tourney player, $1k stack

2/5.

I w $200 stack, open limp $5 w 46 from mp and it goes 4 way to flop of
456.
I bet $15, and V in sb check/calls.

Pot $45 Head up
Turn K

V checks, I bet $30. V ch/raises to $70. I call

Pot $185
River J

V checks. I hv $115 in my stack at this point. I prob shd b putting it in, right? I ended up checking behind. So very weak I think. If he has a hand, he is always betting river facing my short stack. So when he checked, I prob shd b firing.

I didn’t see his hand and he told me i was gd. So he prob isn’t calling any way. Prob some kind of draw and he gv up otr.

Not sure why we are open limping 46s.
Not sure why we aren't shoving turn.
As played shove river.
