Thanks a lot!
hey there thanks for the nice words

i think that for your situation it would be better if you just find 1 good book and learn the fundamentals as well as you can, dont just read it once, read every chapter a lot of times and take a lot of notes on everything you didnt know. ( i suggest some books in earlier pages of my thread )

i remember that when i was at nl2- nl10 i just wanted to read as many books as possible because i felt better telling to my self ''i have read a big amount of books so i must have experience now'', but if i coud talk to my self in the past, i would only read a max of 2 books but learn them perfectly. probably 1 for strategy and 1 for mental strength (that is for becoming a winner in nl2-nl25. after that, i would read books again but i would carefully choose them and make sure i get 100% of what they have to give)

also learn to table select good and when to leave a table. dont call with junk, dont overplay 3bets (my biggest leak at nl10 was betting too many streets in 3bets for no good reason), and learn to play vs ranges, practise it until you do it without noticing it.

After you are confident that you have strong fundamentals, dont stop learning just because you beat your stakes. Try watching at least 1 video per day. (again dont just watch the video like a robot and expect to get better, make your brain work. take notes, pause the video and think what you would have done in this hand, and then if the coach does something different, understand his thought process. It is like when you are in school, just because the teacher is there and he is sharing his knowledge, it doesn't automatically mean that you will learn from him, you have to put in the work too)

many poker video sites have a free trial so you can see which one you like. i got a subscription on run it once and i like it so far.

also if you never played nl10 and you dont have proof that you are a winner there, i would suggest grinding nl5 until you have more than 60 buy ins for nl10. i think that using 15-25 buy in rules is good when you have proof that you are a winner at the stakes that you will move to, but when it is unknown territory for you, i think it's better to just take it slow and get experience along the way

hope i helped, good luck

It is no problem, i was just afraid you forgot about this thread or something

GL with you rl issues and as always i will be checking this thread for updates.. It is quite inspiring for me what you managed to do given your situation (and mine). I just won 60$ tonight playing with friends/randoms in a home game (which would probably take me around 2 months of extreme money saving in order to gather, i am 18 and in a poor country ), and will be depositing them after my college final exams are over. Which will be around the start of February.

I already lost 1 bankroll due to stupid BR decisions, impatient and often thoughtless play, so this time i'll employ a far more methodical approach and will surely work far more on my game.

Just felt like sharing this here

Hey guys first day of real playing this month. Had to take care of some things before i could put in the hours.

Decided to try 24 tabling today at 25nl, i think that it would be the best for my hourly right now. First session went fine. My goal now is to work on my 24 tabling skills. If i can reach 2bb/100 over a large sample im gonna be satisfied for now.

If anyone has any tips about 24 tabling it would help me

Tough day... i guess it was a stupid decision to try 24 tabling. After hand 3500 i swapped to playing a few tables. Will play a few tables from now on but i will put in the hours.

This was an expensive mistake but i will try to only take the positives from it, and make sure i dont repeat it again.

Hey bro, I think 24 tabling it's a total different approach imo. I did the same mistake in the past. The variance is very huge, you must have standard unexploitable ranges, you can't watch the table dynamics and take the best decision, you can't see easy when a table is no more profitable, you must have a perfect understanding of cbetting which might be required many hours of studing with flopzilla, and many more. The best hourly profit I ever had in long sample is by playing 6 tables 6max and 9-12 tables 9max and also I learn more about the game. Also, the bigger variance affects your psychology. I think it's almost impossible for me to return to the grinding aproach. I love the bum hunting and I will stay with this. If I ever wanted to mass multitable, I will do it in a stake below than my normal. I think it's a good option. Read this. I think you will like it. http://www.blackrain79.com/2014/12/r...unting-in.html

Small session today, decided to book the win. tommorow i will try for 2k hands while still 4 tabling. I am playing 6max 25nl the last few days (after my 24 tabling attempt failed) and i think i should continue with 6max from now on.

Play the games and the style you feel more comfortable first. Then try to choose the most valuable tables and play your A game and the results will come. Keep going

No, imo you are already too nitty with your BRM, but its your choice. 60 BIs are more than enough to try it, don't be intimidated, reg skill levels don't change much between stakes and fish will still be fish. If you are able to beat 25NL, you will probably be able to beat 50NL by a slightly smaller margin.

That said I myself still play 25NL and you should take my advice with a grain of salt.

recovering slowly

I had a similar day yesterday at nl20. Lost about 10 BI's I didnt want to stop because I dont have a ton of time to play so I want to get as much volume in as possible when I can but I was slightly hungover and clearnly not think well enough about my hands. The losses didnt help my play either. I might consider a BI stoploss as well. 4BI or something? Or maybe a buy in for every two beer I had the night before... hahaha.

Hey man, don't worry at all. I'm sure that you will recover soon. Just go slow and steady. I think that is wise to use a stop loss rule in the future. I think that even the best player in the world can't continue play 100% Α game after some quick losses. So the best thing to do for the best ev long term is a break. We are humans and not robots to reset our mind and keep playing excellent. Keep going man. You will make it.

yeah after that losing day i decided its best for me if i use a stoploss at around 3-4 buy ins. continue the next day with a clear mind

I have done the same thing before with no reason too. I made experiments with no reasons while I was winning with a specific style. But now I think I took my lesson. We gain experience and made us better players these things.
