What is your guess of the percentage of people playing online professionally (sole income) last year that netted over $200k?

I tried strictly juice for three days like a month ago. Be prepared for some suffering. It really is amazing though in general. You will notice increased focus and concentration esp in the early morning hours. I used kale, celery, apples, carrots, a few beets, pears, and cucumbers(yields an insane amount of juice). Hmu if you have any more questions about what you are in for! I also just moved to Rosa fyi. glgl!

Re: Staking and Livin': 2013

Hey Zima! A few questions.

1) What are your thoughts on the smaller sites value wise? Do some of your guys play Sunday majors across a whole bunch of sites?

2) You predicted FTP would be by far the best second site. Is this happening?

3) A great player of yours who you trust a lot, offers you to stake him in a soft live event that is x50 his ABI. Would you usually take it? Prefer adding it to the online stake or just as a one time thing with some markup for him?

4) What are your thoughts regarding one of the partners running a stable, being staked by it? What if Elio ever encountered a serious DS?

5) Say I have a stable and I want to hire someone who would do all accounting, coach, recruit new horses and take care of most things. Is it reasonable giving him a % of the stable profit? How much?

6) Are your horses allowed to play some games on their own on stars? MTTs/Sats/Cash

7) Tips on dealing with a horse deep in MU
who is life bust, with low motivation... Would you offer him to buyout? At what %?

8) Thoughts on expiring makeup / deal for X tournaments?

9) It's a few months away but plans for the WSOP stablewise?

10) Is there a minimum amount of volume you agree on with your horses? Do you stake non full time players?

A bit late but GL in 2013!

---We always encourage our players to play on the smaller sites. sometimes there are problems with connections/whatever, but the euro sites are good to play on (if you can get over the software).

A lot of our guys play all the majors across multiple sites.

2) You predicted FTP would be by far the best second site. Is this happening?

---Tbh, i dont really know. i thought ftp would come back and be far and away the second best site, but i just dont know if thats the case (or if that will be the case). Party has really added a ton of good mtts and their schedule us much better than it used to be. something at FTP isnt work and i hope they figure it out and fix it soon.

3) A great player of yours who you trust a lot, offers you to stake him in a soft live event that is x50 his ABI. Would you usually take it? Prefer adding it to the online stake or just as a one time thing with some markup for him?

---we would just take a certain portion of it on the online stake. right now we have 10% of someone we stake in EPT Deuville. he plays maybe an avg buyin of 35-40 for us. We will take pieces of people and put it on their online MU. generally, we dont like people doing this as its much better to just grind online than to go to these live mtts.

4) What are your thoughts regarding one of the partners running a stable, being staked by it? What if Elio ever encountered a serious DS?

---I suppose it could work as long as both people werent idiots. anything could work tbh.

Dont really see it being something that would work for me and elio though. Elio would just cut out live stuff and get back on his online grind for a while. He would never want to be staked (even if he was a "backer") he always wants 100% of his action. so far he has been able to do so, but if he went on a big downswing he would just cut the hi rollers and play more online.

5) Say I have a stable and I want to hire someone who would do all accounting, coach, recruit new horses and take care of most things. Is it reasonable giving him a % of the stable profit? How much?

---Dont really see how else to do it (i guess a salary, but that seems dumb and you arent really giving the person any incentives to make everything the bet he can). As far as whats a fair %, i am not really sure. it just really depends on a lot of stuff and how you structure everything. I know 1 person who ran a stable and he got a % of all the cashouts (so, a horse gets a 5k cashout, and the stable gets 5k as well, so he got like 10% er something of the 5k). He didnt have to re-invest in anything so kinda "free rolled" those cashouts in a way.

6) Are your horses allowed to play some games on their own on stars? MTTs/Sats/Cash

---I think 2 people we have are allowed to do this. We are usually very very strongly against this (and dont see it changing) because of the accounting nightmare. It just takes a lot of trust to let someone do this. they can degen off their cash then let it bleed into stake funds etc. rather just not have to deal with this.

7) Tips on dealing with a horse deep in MU
who is life bust, with low motivation... Would you offer him to buyout? At what %?

---well, if they are life bust offering them a buyout seems kinda dumb. just gotta try and motivate them to clear and do well. can also tier some cashouts so they get a few cashouts as they clear MU to give them incentive to grind out those 5k scores rather than just going for the big ones.

8) Thoughts on expiring makeup / deal for X tournaments?

---seems pretty terrible to me, but havent really thought about it too much in depth. i talk with another staker who does this and he thinks its better than the MU model i use.

9) It's a few months away but plans for the WSOP stablewise?

---We will have 7 guys playing a lot, most likely. if i had to guess, maybe like 400k in buyins this summer over WSOP/live MTTs for all of them. we wont take all their action in everything, but all the soft stuff we will have 100% of.

10) Is there a minimum amount of volume you agree on with your horses? Do you stake non full time players?

---nah, no real volume requirement. just try and encourage them to play as much as they can. some of our guys have to get jobs at times to help pay bills.

A bit late but GL in 2013!

tyty

gl to you as well.

Do you have 400k of wsop actions or do the horses have 400k in wsop action and you have some % of that?

Re: Staking and Livin': 2013

just estimating, but the guys we stake should have 400k in buyins this summer for just us. they will sell some action as well. but, we will have 400k invested this summer.

if you take just the ME, thats 70k. all the other mtts over the summer are prolly like 40k each, thats like 280k. some guys will play a bit more (and we will take 100% in some 5ks etc). 400k might be a bit much, but def over 300k.

Re: Staking and Livin': 2013

we have 35 guys at the moment.

If you look at last weeks graph, its a great deal lower than usual (not all the bigger guys played/some are blocked). would guess around 70k buyins on stars for a sunday.

What's the biggest # you have lost on a sunday? Have you ever gone a sunday where you didn't have at least a few 4 figure cashes?

Re: Staking and Livin': 2013

The volume of tables he can get up has slowed down a lot since than. think he just got such a big lead he kinda just wanted to take a break and became a bit lazy (i mean, "lazy", he still gets more vpps in a week than i have lifetime).

I am sure at some point he will ramp his volume back up, but always good to take a break ever so often

Re: Staking and Livin': 2013

i used to search people every day and have a huge list of everyone and just refresh them. Now, i just search the guys in the most MU and people who arent on that list usually just say something if they are at a FT in the skype chat we have. I usually go through lobbies later in the day to check and make sure people dont play things they arent supposed to. I label all the guys i stake with an orange note, so makes it easier to see.

Some sundays i search everyone though.

How did you decide to go into the staking business? Did you find a partner to shoulder the financial cost ( initial bankroll) or acquire your partner later on when you wanted to expand the business?
