Ahhhhh ,cool

Thank you for that

I have never used that option before, very nice ...I thought maybe you can add your own data ,as in FPPs ,RB,what cut your getting vs the horse etc etc ..........need to look into how to do that now

Zima ,another question

You have a partner ,as far as work goes would you say it is split 50/50 ,or is one of you doing more work than the other ?

I do most of the "work"

elio does HH reviews and stuff like that. we chat about all decisions pertaining to the stable, but i do most of the actual work in terms of PMs, checking on horses, sending transfers etc.

Re: Staking and Getting Healthy: 2012

the thing with the graph...

it just shows how much the guys we stake are up at the tables this year. it doesnt show how much profit we have really made, cause their MU carries over from year to year. so, its not like if we chopped stuff atm, me and elio would have half of the number listed there.

Didnt go for a walk today, just didnt really feel like it

i did go to play tennis and i ran around a decent bit.

am a bit sore from walking up and down all these hills around here, but its prolly better then walking on flat surfaces all the time. it also keeps me interested a lot more as well, so thats good

Ty very much for this Zima. Could someone explain to me what BRM considerations there are in staking? Surprised that only 25% of your staking BR is invested in horses - do you basically keep your horses quite short and top-up frequently?

Hey Zima,

I wondering why there is too little staking at cg/sng (compared to tourney). Can you tell us why? Is cash game less profitable for stakers (you)?

Hey Zima,

Sweet thread good luck with all your staking ventures! Im polish as well and Zima does mean winter haha!

At the start of the year i weighed 310 lbs and i stopped eating chips and chocolate bars and only drink water and coffee and i have also stopped eating bread and most wheat products currently i weigh 293 lbs. This is with very minimal exercise as well.
Oh and a big thing minimize eating anything with sugar.

Just thought i would let you know whats working for me and maybe it will work for you!

Good luck sir!

At the start, we usually just let the horse hold 1 days worth of buyins. as time goes, we let them hold more and more.

People def stake for cash games and do well. someone who posted in this thread already was a pretty good cash game backer for a long time. it works/can be good, but i just think mtts are better for staking.

Re: Staking and Getting Healthy: 2012

Pretty good day for me today. Went for a nice long walk to start the day, then i wanted to go to dinner and the car we have was being used by a friend so i had to walk to town again to get some food. so basically got 2 days of walking in.

dinner also was pretty good as well. def ate well today and ate the right things as well.

Time: 2 hours 7 mins
Miles: 6.37 miles
Calories: 1038
Steps: 11807

Poker went pretty good today as well for the stable overall. few people won some mtts and 1 kid chopped a small live mtt. Had a kid FT a tcoop event, but it didnt end great. still a nice score for the stable and hopefully more to come in tcoop. only 5 days er so left in tcoop. need to get a title.

1570 games played today for the stable with a 51% roi. <feelsgoodman>

Re: Staking and Getting Healthy: 2012

Skimmed thread, so dont know if its answered, but do you run your stable through an exterior website designed specifically for your staking? Like for horses to log in and report daily updates?

Also do you ever buy shares of horses in marketplace? Or stake at all live?

Re: Staking and Getting Healthy: 2012

We use donkbluff to keep track of all that stuff (MU/profit/stakeback)

can just google it and should find a video giving a brief description.

we dont really buy pieces of people from the MP. we have bought from people we know in some bigger mtts, but for the most part its we like the MU attached to the staking deal.

We are starting to stake live more now. should be in full swing by WSOP

Re: Staking and Getting Healthy: 2012

One more question, in staking horse in the mtts you do, lets say you have 50 guys. What % of the time will you profit given:

1 day(weekday):

1 day(sunday):

1 week(sun-sat):

1 month:

3 months:

year:

just trying to see what expectation of risks you have in your stable, I used to back some small stakes sng players and some 25nl< players with a buddy pre BF, obv had to stop at BF. My goal is try to build up some capital to go back to stacking once online poker hits the US again(hopefully by some time in next 2 year), whenever that is.

Re: Staking and Getting Healthy: 2012

its pretty hard to answer your questions in terms of %'s. I picked a few "random" days just look at sharkscope and will post results below

What % of the time will you profit given:

1 day(weekday): Picked a wednesday in the first week on jan. i couldnt remember how we did that day. obv this isnt random, but meh

1,452 games played $1 $23 14% $1,131 N/A N/A

1 day(sunday): Picked the 8th of jan. again, i couldnt remember if it was a good day or not. the alias i created for all these graphs are of the current guys we stake, and doing it for like a random sunday in october would be too much work to look up everyone/enter them into alias

1,562 games played $3 $34 6% $5,127 N/A N/A

obv just look at the graph i posted earlier for a more accurate view of how sundays usually go

1 week(sun-sat): took a week from jan as well. this seems to have been a good week for us. wish i could take a snap shot of a week in december...

9,812 games played $5 $28 22% $53,855 N/A N/A

1 month: posted a graph earlier with this info of how 2012 is going so far

3 months: hard to say

year: over a year, i would expect we would make money no matter how good or bad we run.

its really hard to give an exact % on all these, but, if you look at the stuff i posted, it looks like staking is really easy and we make money everyday!

not sure if this answered your questions

Re: Staking and Getting Healthy: 2012

Also MTTs are softer, a lot of players are capable of beating stakes they dont have money for whereas with cash the toughness goes up fairly linearly, so if you have a roll for NL100, it doesnt make sense to get staked for NL400

Would it ever be worth it for you to stake someone only for live tournaments or is the amount of volume you can put in on the live tournament circuit too low for your current bankroll?

yeah, mtts are much easier to track. there are ways to track cashgames, but just a lot more trust goes into it.

yeah.

also, staking someone for 200nl, they need a lot more money in account right away then someone being staked for mtts up to 109s. obv this isnt a huge factor, but it does come into play

sure, it might be worth it. there is a ton of money to be made live.

dont think we would ever do it though. just so much variance in live only deals.
