Re: Staking and Getting Healthy: 2012

I don't really expect you to post total profit made for both of you,how much you have made yourself from staking etc etc

But maybe you would be willing to tell us what your best day profit wise was and what worst day lose wise was since you started backing players?

1. Probably the most important thing is to avoid any form of fructose or glucose, and more specifically, high fructose corn syrup. When you consume these types of sugar, they cause huge spikes in your blood sugar, which causes your body to pump out insulin, which will eventually make you hungry and will manipulate your hormones. Of course it's a lot more complicated than that, but I don't want this to be tl;dr

2. Get protein and grean vegetables in every meal. Protein helps you to be less hungry. Greens help to fill you up. Spinach, kale, and avocado are all wonder foods that deserve worship

3. As the old saying goes, "Eat like a king in the morning, eat like a prince in the afternoon, and eat like a beggar at night." Consume most of your calories early, so that you have time to burn them off throughout the day. (I know it's hard to do esp when you have a night life, but just do your best. It's all you can do!

4. I could go on and on, but the statement that kind of captures everything is "have the right intentions." This captures everything. If you really start eating healthful, green foods on a regular basis, it will become natural. You also won't feel guilty when you crush a couple of cookies or something of that nature, because you know your intent is to eat properly most of the time. Holistic living my friend!

Oh yeah, and I would recommend taking fish oil. For somebody your size, I'd say roughly 6-8 grams a day. It's one of the easiest things you can do to improve your health. If you want to know why, read the book "Toxic Fat" by Dr. Barry Sears.

-Zack
Zack number 3 is just wrong, there is nothing that says it's better to eat in the morning than later during the day. Same as there's nothing that says whether 1 or 5 meals a day is best for your body.

For Zima I think it would be a good idea to focus on protein and vegetables like you said, keeps you full and it's what your body really need.
Also being as big as you are, you could pretty much starve yourself for a while without having any problems.
I think a good idea would be to look into something like leangains or periodic fasting, you can eat a lot of food when you do, but you don't eat as often.

Also if you want to lose fat and not muscles you have to work out, lifting weights. Otherwise your body will get ride of your muscles when you don't eat enough.

Good luck.

Re: Staking and Getting Healthy: 2012

Fredron sorry but your contradiction to Zack isn't correct. Breakfast should be the biggest meal of the day and have the highest concentration of carbohydrates so you body can use the energy during the day. It also allows your body more time to turn the food into muscle as opposed to fat. Your body can't turn proteins in to muscle unless you are using your muscles.

It's called breakfast because you are literally breaking a 10+hour fast from the last time you ate. Your body needs it.

Fasting is incredibly unhealthy.
I learned about it while dealing with an anorexic sibling. The juicing alternative is much better in every way.

Lifting weights isn't how you burn fat, cardio is...

Zima - It would be cool if you would post daily best horses vs worst horses WITHOUT posting names. Would give us something to latch on to.

I'm not trying to troll people or make anyone out to be stupid but the advice being given out itt about weight loss is very very poor.

The way you lose weight is by simple. Your calories burnt > calories absorbed. Now how you burn these calories is irrelevant. You can wank for 10hrs and burn a shed load of calories and that will be fine or you can lift weights and burn calories or you can run and burn calories. You can lose weight and not even exercise if you consume less than you burn.

The healthy way to do all this is to have 3 healthy and balanced meals a day and to exercise in some form. Cardio is a popular way to do this because it improves your cardiovascular system but it by no means the only way you can do this. Lifting weights for 45mins can burn a lot of calories as well.

I'll leave it at that because I could talk about this for a very long time and if Zima is interested in hearing more i can talk to him about it. But just remember that there isn't a special formula that can get you to lose weight. It is plain and it is simple.

While I understand many people want to see dollar figures of your P/L I really don't think it's necessary or really appropriate for you to divulge publicly.

However, I think a valid way of demonstrating the same thing would be in % and ROI formats.

IE
A.) What percentage of your overall staking BR is usually in player accounts versus what percentage you keep ready for reserve/reloads.

B.) What was your 2011 ROI overall?

C.) What type of BRM do you supply your players with, as in a guy grinding $15 9 max turbos gets xxx buy-ins in his account and we keep yyy on hand for reloads.

D.) What is your annual/monthly expected return, how much does that vary based on variance over this many horses?

I think this is a way you could demonstrate the same info without providing financial details to the public about your operation.

It's kinda hard to say how much time it actually takes up. i am usually on my computer a lot during the day, and just send reloads as they are needed. going over PMs and chatting with Elio about backing stuff is most likely where a lot of my time is spent in staking. And also going over new PMs. If i had to guess, i would say i "work" about 4 hours a day. obv i work at dif times of the day and i have 2p2 in the background or am watching some people play etc.

1. Well, if we think they are +ev in the schedule we put them in, their bankroll is pretty much endless. we just keep investing. once people get MU, you gotta keep investing in them if they are still winners in the games.

2. prolly low stakes mtt sngs. 180's, 45 mans, 18 mans etc. thats how me and my first partner pageh656 got started. we started with 9 man sngs, then went to 18-180's. we started with $700, so had to try and go the least variance route.

It's polish. and from what my family has told me, it means "long winter".

I just shaved my hair two days, so i have very little left at this point, ha ha

We look at how good they have done in the past (sharkscope opr etc), i chat with them some to just get a feel for them as a person, we do a HH review and if they are good in all those, we offer a deal.

I would say the best day staking was when we had a horse get 2nd in the warm-up for like 78, and he had some MU. we also had a few other guys that did well that day as well. if i had to guess, i think we prolly made like 60-70 that day (a lot of that was from getting back MU we already had out there, so i suppose thats not really like us making 60-70)

Yeah, i am trying to think of how i could do this easily, as sometimes its hard to tell who loses the most each day (unless its one of our 3-4 HSMTT horses)

will work on getting something i can post in terms of numbers so people can follow along easily.

A---our staking bankroll is kinda fluid. we dont really have a set number that we can invest. I will say, we have more money in players accounts then we do in my/elios accounts. That will tend to happen when you have so many horses though.

B---Not sure. so hard to tell with all the BF stuff and US horses being shut down and that MU equity just being on hold.

C---Depends how much he plays a day. We generally give people enough to play each day. if he plays 20 game sets, we would send prolly 40 buyins for him. if he plays 20 tables constantly, we would prolly send him like 50-60 buyins. Basically, just want him to have enough to play each day. I am usually around as well to reload if necessary.

Kinda answered the second part of your question earlier. we keep a lot on hand for reloads/people usually have endless bankrolls (for the most part).

D---Not to sure. It varies so much. My goal for this year is to make 150-200k+ from staking.

Thanks for all the help with my eating/heatlh stuff. always good to read stuff about that to broaden my knowledge on the subject.

Time: 1 hour 45 seconds
Miles: 3.49 miles
Calories: 570
Steps: 6355

Wasnt going to workout today, but i was getting a bit tilted from some staking stuff and felt the best thing to do would be to just go for a walk. i timed my walk pretty good in that i got to the peak of the mountain right when the sun was going down. it was pretty awesome.

i will post a graph of this sunday later tonight after all the mtts are ended/logged on sharkscope. will show what a normal sunday looks like for elio and I.

Re: Staking and Getting Healthy: 2012

I have a problem with some horses who are only comfortable with a big balance in their accounts. I am online everyday so there is no reason for them to have more than enough for one day.

Some guys always view the stars balance as their 'bankroll' however many times I tell them it dosnt matter and I can reload anytime.

How do you deal with this? I obv want them to feel comfortable but I also dont want to send 200bi to every horse obv.

Keep eating sushi and drinking beer imo, just in moderation. Better to enjoy life food-wise and just do even more exercise to make up for it. Do you stake Smokrokflok also or does he play on his own roll?

thanks in advance

this is something i have dealt with in the past, and its pretty frustrating. just gotta keep telling them it doesnt matter whats in their account. i have actually sat down at tables to show them whats in my account and said "this is your bankroll" or, shown them some screen shots of elios wins and laughingly tell them thats their BR.

Elio plays on his own. I have 0 action on any of elios wins/losses.
