Do me a favor and ride a bike, save your knees. You will thank me in the long run.

just started to lightly jog as walking is getting kinda boring/easy.

I am sure there will be times when i need to take a break for my knees, as i have a bad one already (hand-egg injury). Hopefully my knees can hold out til i lose this weight.

Gotta get a new belt soon. the one i got is too big. I feel as though i am smaller, but not sure i can really tell in the mirror since i see myself everyday.

Yeah cause you see yourself on a day to day basis it is very hard to tell if you have changed all that much. Best to take a photo of you now and then look at it in a month and compare.

I played at a small private school in high school. The name of the school was shorecrest prep. I graduated in a class of 53 (i think). I wish i went to a bigger school to better prepare myself for college, but at the time i really liked the small school and i was able to do relatively well in sports because i didnt go up against great competition. When it was time to go to college, i went to a few D1 camps (UNC, UCF) and the coaches liked what they saw for the most part, but i was just a little to small/a not quite that polished in terms of my techniques. the schools were i was going also had pretty good offensive lines at the time. I went to a few 1AA schools as well to see how i liked them, but i hated them. I woulda got some money to play there but really hated the people who i met there on the team.

My dad played at a DIII school in the early 80s, and he did a little research on some DIII schools who were really good at the time, and he said we should go look at one. I agreed and we went to visit Mount Union College in Alliance Ohio. I went there and liked everything about the school right away. The o-line was in a rebuilding phase at the time and i could come in and potentially start if i had a good camp (i ended up not getting the starting job and was second string on varsity my freshmen year) The kid in front of me was really good and started 4 years and was a all american.

I ended up getting hurt on the first play i played in the first game of the season. I went to pull around and the other guard got blown up and caused a bit pile up and the RB basically just dove into the side of my knee. I knew right away my knee was ****ed up. There was an intense burning sensation as i hobbled off the field. I ended up partially tearing my MCL and needed around 6 weeks for it to heal with thearapy/working out/treatment. I ended up coming back to early and spraining it a few times after that. The injury treatment wasnt the best at Mount. I kinda was just a lame duck for the rest of the season and just limped into the off season. That off season i started to feel better and i was working out like 6 days a week and was in the best shape of my life. I was throwing some serious weight around in the gym. I ended up going home that summer (mistake) and kinda slacking off. I was still in good shape leading into the next season, but not where i needed to be. Sophomore year camp went well. I was second string still and would likely see playing time (since we killed everyone). In the 3rd week of the season, i got hurt again. same knee. We had a kid who was used to go really hard in practice when he was just supposed to be walking through stuff for the 2nd team offense. The other guard on the right side of the line got fed up with it at some point and decided to teach him a lesson. that lesson happened to be throwing him right into the side/back of my knee tearing my meniscus and cartilage. I ended up doing therapy for around another 6 weeks and coming back and just not being myself. they made me dress for each practice and do the non contact stuff, but i wasnt really able to do much. it was pretty ******ed. again, they handled injury situations about as bad as possible. i became pretty bitter towards the whole situation and just was over the whole football thing. Part of me wonders what woulda happened if i spoke up and told them i needed to jsut rest/didnt wanna go out to practice so i could heal. oh well

cool story---

Going into sophomore year, i didnt have a room mate cause i didnt really care who it was/didnt put any effort into it by the deadline. the football coaches asked me if i would help this new kid from florida get acclimated to Mount (i am from florida as well). I said sure. I pull up to the sophomore dorms and the kid and his whole family were outside moving his stuff in. he was a pretty imposing figure (for a WR). He didnt have much stuff and his parents actually asked if they could have the old carpet i had in my storage from freshmen year. I of course gave it to them and off they went. the first night i was talking to Pierre about school and the team, and i told him that he might have to play JV for a bit as we have some returning all american WRs and he will have to get used to the system etc. He told me "i aint playing JV. i can tell you that". I said "eh, idm man...will be tough but hopefully you get the hang of it". Frist day of practice he lit up the secondary. He was the fastest person on the field by far and had ridic hands. Pierre Garcon now plays for the Colts in the NFL and has done pretty well. glad to see he made it and happy for his success. (Mount put another WR in the league recently. Cecil shorts)

this kinda went longer than expected.

can answer questions about this as well.

you are due for some heat.

gonna be fun when it starts to come together.

here is a pretty cool article on Mount Union Football.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/4...ram-in-america

some things that stand out (article was written in 2010):

Mount Union, a Division III program, has won 10 national championships. The Purple Raiders have titles in 1993, 1996-98, 2000-2002, 2005, 2006, and 2008.

During the 90's, Mount Union's football team went 120-7-1. Since 2000, the program has lost just five times, with three of those occurring in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, the Division III national championship game.

When Oklahoma won 47 straight games from 1953 to 1957, the feat was considered a major accomplishment. However, Mount Union holds the two longest winning streaks in college football history. The Purple Raiders won 54 in a row from 1996 to 1999 and 55 straight from 2000 to 2003.

Between 1994 and 2005, Mount Union won 110 consecutive regular-season contests.

Coach Larry Kehres has accumulated a record of 289-22-3. That stat means Kehres has won over 92.5 percent of the games that he coached.

there are a few more cool facts in the article. Mount was overall a great experience for me, but left with a sour taste in my mouth.

Well if you're going to jog/run. Do it on grass or something soft, don't go running on sidewalks/roads. Please.
