My Goal is $20 to $2k as fast as possible, hopefully by the end of the summer.
I have a history of running up bankrolls on various sites (Pokerstars, FullTilt, Jetset), never this much this fast tho. I will be playing on Cake, which sucks btw.

Strategy Post

For this challenge, I will be following the bankroll strategy outlined below.

Level - Amount needed to play
4nl - $20 (5 BI)
10nl - $100 (10 BI)
25nl - $375 (15 BI)
50nl - $750 (15 BI)
100nl - $1500 (15 BI)

When I have enough to move up, I will start by just playing one or two tables at the new level, and continuing to play every table running at the level below it. I will then work in more and more tables if I am successful. If not I will move back down, rebuild, and repeat.

As for actual playing strategy, I probably won't be divulging a whole lot about how I am playing. This is because on Cake there aren't too many people, and it is more about making adjustments to people then playing a particular style. I wouldn't want to give away info or create a guide for one of my opponents to come across and exploit.

Meh. First 10K didn't go so great, but it could have been much worse. Started well, then hit a huge downswing that was really just 100 hands of ridiculousness, and now I have climbed back out of that. Hopefully I can get going, Beep Beep.

It's been such a long time since I updated this, I don't even remember what happened here. I think it is a downswing, upswing, and then a failed shot at 10nl.

So the deal with this thread is I didn't play at all in July or August, then started playing a little in September. I played quite a bit in October, like 30 or 40k hands. So far I have played 60K hands total at NL. I also played some PLO and PLO8 where I guess I won a little. I have had two failed attempts to move up to 10nl, I will be making another attempt soon.

I have some more girafes to throw up sometime soon.

I think you need to have more buyins to move up or else your shots arent lasting long enough to give you a proper chance at the new level. dont rush, try and get like 30 - 40 buyins for the next level before you move up.

This graph is not only shows my results for hands 50-60k, it also doubles as a graphing of my anticipation for MW3!

I appreciate that thought and have done that in the past. On Cake I just don't give a F*** though. They have so many issues with cashouts, the money essentially isn't even real, at least not until I get to at least $500, the minimum for US residents to cashout. I think I am disciplined enough with BR mgmt that I will avoid going broke. I just have to move down when I am no longer rolled for a stake.

Haven't updated this thing in a long time. I got to $210 at one point. I sold off $110 of it. Now I am back to $100. I haven't really played very much. Don't think I have touched the account since January. At least I am up money for the experience of playing on Cake. I really hate the site and don't enjoy the games they have running. Recently I got the poker bug again, at least a little, and I have been trying to run up a roll from $0 on Merge. I'm at $6 right now. Good luck, I'm looking for a site to play 10NL on for a while as well. Played a lot of sng back in the day, but doesn't seem like there's enough traffic anywhere.
