Would you say it was nuts if I bet on the sun to come up tomorrow? Golden State at home against a hot mess T-Wolves team is as easy as it gets. Betting the spread all-in would have been nuts (even though it hit), but picking them to win straight up at home against an inferior opponent is about as sure as the sunrise. Nothing epic at all; pretty ho-hum actually.
Day 35 Results: 1-3 -$243.54
Week 5 Results: 17-11 +$1,323.78
Bankroll: $2,502.11
I am pretty happy with the way the week worked out wager-wise.
On the life goals front, things did not go quite as well.
Meditation: 6/7
Running: 1/3
BJJ: Nada
I had my best week yet with meditation, but the exercise front was abysmal. I only ran once back on Monday, and I did not get into the BJJ academy yet. In my defense, I have been battling a sinus infection/cold all week, but I still need to find a way to be active even with a minor sickness. The main problem this week was the fact that it was a little too cold to run outside by the time I got off work (at least that was the excuse I used to justify it to myself), and I haven't been able to force myself to start going to the gym to hit the hamster wheel yet.
I am going to motivate myself to attack the exercise front with vigor this week by assessing myself a financial penalty if I don't reach the goal. If I don't meet my two exercise goals this week, I will donate $25 to United Way. If I do reach them, then I will only donate $10.
Week 6 Goals:
1. Meditate at least five minutes every day
2. Run at least three times
3. Start BJJ training
4. Eat no desserts
My sugar consumption has been way too high lately, and Halloween was not helpful in that regard. I am adding in a goal to not eat any desserts all week to help me lose weight and feel better.
Djokovic vs. Federer
Federer +1.5 Set Handicap -115
Risking $115 to win $100
Like me, the Joker has been battling a cold all week that has sapped his energy. That is the excuse he used anyway to justify his piss-poor performance to cost me money yesterday. If he plays anything like that today, I think Federer will win. Even if he raises his game, I see Fed grabbing at least a set.
