I have been inspired by many of the other great threads in this forum, and I want to emulate their models by focusing on overall life improvement instead of just poker and sports betting goals. To that end, I would like to set some goals to help keep me motivated.
I am getting quite the spare tire forming around my middle thanks to eating poorly and not exercising as much as I should. When I came back from Peru last fall, I stepped on the scale at 163 pounds thanks to all the surfing I did when I lived on the shores of the Pacific. Today, I am at 187 pounds. While that is not terrible considering that I stand 6'2", I want to get that down to under 175 at least. For me, surfing is by far the best exercise both for staying in shape and for enjoyment.
Unfortunately, the waves are not very good here in Iowa.
Last winter, I tried to stay in shape by just lifting and running on the treadmill, which was DAMN BORING. I am going to change that this winter. This week, I am going to start training at my local BJJ academy. It is an Alliance affiliate for anyone who is curious. I just ordered rash guards and a couple mouthpieces from Amazon. They are scheduled to arrive Tuesday, which makes my goal to have my first BJJ training session this Wednesday.
This past week, I also started meditating in a bid to improve my wellness and hopefully make it so that I won't tilt when I start playing live poker. I am going to add some meditation goals ITT now as well.
Week 3 Goals:
1. Meditate at least five minutes each day
2. Start BJJ training
3. Run at least four days
