A year of poker A year of poker

01-01-2016 , 08:31 AM
Hi all,

I am 22 years and I am currently in the final year of my bachelor degree. This year I would like to attempt to give poker a serious try. Before this I would just play poker from time to time as a hobby. This will be my first and only attempt at giving poker a shot, if at the end of the year my result are bad than that is it for poker. What I love most about poker is that it could potentially give you the freedom to do whatever you want in life.

A year of poker is just that, me trying my best to succeed. NLHE would probably be the smart choice to pick as a game because that is where the most money could be made, however I simply do not like NLHE that much and maybe that is because I still have little knowledge about it. I prefer PLO and PLO8 so I think I am going to focus on those formats more than NLHE, but we will see where I ended up at the end of year.

At the end of the year I would like to be able to earn $2000 + per month, how realistic is that? I have no idea, it is just that if I make anything less than 2k per month I don’t think the benefits of poker outweigh the negatives of poker.

Let’s find out, shall we?

Goals 2016:
- Obtaining my bachelor degree
- Being able to earn $2000 a month at the end of the year
- Read 3/4 books per month
- Lose some weight, become healthier, exercise at least 3/4 times a week
